The Concert For Heroes' was a live concert in Madison Square Garden in NYC and while the Who stole the show this performance from U2 and friends in London ran a close second. I recenly watched U2's Live From Slane Castle DVD - "U2 Go Home", which was performed and recorded just a few weeks before the 9-11 attacks and with this performance and their subsequent SuperBowl performance in January 2002 it became quite apparent that U2 had become America's band dealing with the tragic events of 9-11.

I'm surprised by the small number of views and Likes for this video. I mean, this is about the most heartfelt performance of a piece of music I've ever heard.

i remembver recording this tribute show onto VHS, had went to see both their homecoming gigs in Ireland that year, and it was also the year Bono's dad died between the two gigs.

The Concert For Heroes' was a live concert in Madison Square Garden in NYC and while the Who stole the show this performance from U2 and friends in London ran a close second. I recenly watched U2's Live From Slane Castle DVD - "U2 Go Home", which was performed and recorded just a few weeks before the 9-11 attacks and with this performance and their subsequent SuperBowl performance in January 2002 it became quite apparent that U2 had become America's band dealing with the tragic events of 9-11.

I'm surprised by the small number of views and Likes for this video. I mean, this is about the most heartfelt performance of a piece of music I've ever heard.
U2 is about elevating the human spirit. That's why they are so loved. And me, here in the U.S., a hard-working man that was so devastated by the news of the 9/11 attacks that I couldn't turn on a TV for years.
Say what you will, but Bono showed his true heart in this performance. A very Christ-like heart. A healing heart.

i remembver recording this tribute show onto VHS, had went to see both their homecoming gigs in Ireland that year, and it was also the year Bono's dad died between the two gigs.
this performance is unreal, especially the Hallelujah at the end.
september 11th is still hard to comprehend for me, the direction the world has moved since then saddens me.
force met with force, innocently killed and injured many of my relatives at home in ireland, and it DID not work.
