when do you add worms? in the beginning or?

how do you empty it? do you have to take it all apart? Is there a hatch to harvest the compost. What about the lack of heat to kill pathogens?

you empty it with a shovel through the top after it has composted for a while (6-12 months). You add worms to the drum and they eat all your waste. Worms have the fantastic ability to kill pathogens when they eat and travel though soil.
