Just returned from seeing them for the first time tonight in St. Paul, Minnesota and they played this piece, was simply amazing! I can't wait for next year!!!
Just saw them last night. Best Concert I've ever been to, words cannot describe just how amazing this group is. The music was rich, the lighting was spectacular and completely synchronized to the music. I recommend Everyone go to one of their concerts.
i just saw their next to last concert of the 2009 tour today ( second time ive been to one of their concerts btw) and trust me...its completely worth it.
If you wait until just before the show you can usually grab tix (cheap seats on the side) for about $25. It's actually a pretty good view from there, too.
Experienced them in Indy last night.. TSO is a life changing 'Bucket List' event. Any verbal description cannot do it justice... SO many elements coming at you, it was the Church of Music. I've never cried from that much moving emotion & concentrated energy before. Such a brilliant & unique entity.. a (3 incredible guitars) rock show/concert/opera/string symphony/lighting/pyro/laser/robotic lighing system/metal/classical/musical storytelling event ever...
i just got back from their show in indiana and it was awsome!!i also got an autograph from every one of them because they all stayed after and signedeverybodies posters and stuff
Watch TSO version of the Nutrocker on Youtube by punching TSO Nutrocker 2003. They don't play it every year but when they do I love it. For those of you who have seen them in fall of 2008 do they play the Nutrocker in the west coast tour? They don't play in Dallas until January 3rd. Again the Nutrocker video I found on Youtube is the only video of that TSO song I've found. If they performed it this year will someone please post it.
wow it would be really awesome if TSO would also do arrangements of the ff on the next release:
1. vangelis' CONQUEST OF PARADISE, CHARIOTS OF FIRE, and ANTARTICA
2. probably some of yanni's more bombastic songs
3. enya's STORMS OF AFRICA
those songs (though the new age choices might probably be a bit odd next to the classical selections) would really sound great next to Carmina Burana and Beethoven/Requiem
They want and expect you to stand and clap. They are a ROCK GROUP if you just wanted cool classical music then you should have went to Manheim Steamroller. You may have enjoyed yourself better. This Concert KICKED ASS!!!
I know, I had a 'clapper' behind me this year. I was ready to slug the guy, but he had his little kids with him. He wasn't even in time, made it the worst part.
lol so true, I hate people that just scream or clap through the whole thing, I came here to hear the performance not you screaming and clapping along,so shut up!!!! Its fine to clap at the end of each song.
have u ever heard of the song "blinded by the light" u were so close to those lights u had to have been blinded by the light! GREAT VIDEO! i wish i could get that close to tso!
Saw them last night for my 4th time! They never cease to amaze. It is a shame that not all participants are willing to stand during the show. I'm one of the annoying ones that stands and claps every chance I get, haha.
yea i saw them last night, and it was inside the theartre snowing. of course, i live in green bay WI and we just had a MASSIVE snow storm but oh well. oh and by the way ( it was bits of paper...)
I just saw them last night. They were AMAZING. I can't WAIT till next year...I'd go again this year if I could afford the time and money!! Great Video you have here too!!
I'm curious as to how you recorded all of this lol! When I went to the show in Dallas, they tell you to not bring your digital cameras in, and then you go through a medal detector, and if you have a camera on you, it gets put in a basket with all the others for the rest of the show!
Its possible that this was a cellphone camera. I have a BlackBerry Curve that has a 2mp camera built in, which is what this looks like. Actually this looks lower than 2mp, perhaps 1.3mp...
Ah yes, my cell phone has 1.3 mp, but I don't think I would be able to record a video for six minutes! I wouldn't really want to at a TSO show either. I tried it once a few years ago, and I felt like I had missed the whole song when I was done recording.
It is because there are some people for whom music like this is absolute madness :) so while I may give this a 5 star, they may give it juat 1 star, which averages out to be 3 star.
Most maginificent show i've ever seen, i love how they used the P.A. so loudly that you cant even hear the rest of the croud screaming ahha, just the few clapping beside you
