  • Holy gaucamoly Batman how many people were at this concert?

  • U2, QUEEN, LED ZEPPELIN, BLACK SABBATH! WOW! GREAT TIMES!

  • when I saw physical graffiti concert at earls court 10 yrs earlier it just blew my mind and then I just had to blow my nose !!!!!!

  • WTF

  • hard to think of a rock song that had a bigger impact in my childhood......this song was just a monster.

  • queen did better.

  • The hair, the clothes - this is the look of the eighties. Robert Plant & Jimmy Page are the best. I heard they did not practice so they were probably not in sync at some points when they reunited years later.

  • Plant's ego gets ahead of the song and band. This is SHIT!!!!!!

  • Was sitting in JFK Stadium on July 13 on my birthday for this very hot but amazing consert. will never forget!!!

  • you cut the fucking solo out whats mentally wrong with you?

  • Led Zep blocked this from appearing on the official Live AID DVD - for very obvious reasons. What a shamble!

  • WORST VERSION EVER!! Who the hell edited this?? The work experiance boy?!?

  • WOW, this sucked big time.

  • this isnt on the dvd :/

  • dont cut this song , ever ! EVER !

  • big 3 of 70' and 80'

  • How many people were on this concert does anybody know? :PP

  • Robert Plants should be in a bad brother

  • jimmy page said when he was coke high he would gyrate his neck. You can see Robert Plant smile/giggle when Page does this in the intro. friends you see, know things

  • ooohhh f**k where is the solo????????

  • i didn't think the performance was all that bad myself, editing was pretty raw though.

  • it was to see them but shadyis right put together to soon and all that money was wasted do the homework it sat on a dock

  • I love these guys, but Robert's hair and pants were just all wrong. Nothing good I can say about it. lol

  • @ConnecticutSavvy who cares about the fuckin' hair?

  • Horrible. Only half there and badly edited

  • what year did bonham pass away?

  • @555rest

Bonham left us in 1980. :-(

  • @MamoDad rip john but then whos playin drums for this if this is 1985

  • @555rest

It took two drummers - both Phil Collins and Tony Thompson playing at the same time - to fill Bonham's large shoes.

It's a benefit so they got what was left of the band together for the first time after John died and Phil and Tony helped out on drums during a poorly rehearsed (and played) performance.

In fact, Phil wanted to walk off the stage because as he said later, "They weren't very good. And I was made to feel a little uncomfortable by the dribbling Jimmy Page."

  • Is that the same double neck he played in the 1970's?

  • I WAS THERE ! COOL THANK'S !

  • Honestly i love zeppelin, but this video/concert does suck.

  • @666JimmyPage666 SOMADBRO

  • Thanks for cutting out the solo faggot

  • Great performance. Blast from the past

  • Why the hell is Robert Plant wearing those fugly business trousers!! haha!

  • wow... jimmy looks artificially excited in this video...

  • pagey and brian may look so alike lol

  • Funny that the band hates their Live Aid performance, cause I remember watching this on MTv (when they played videos) and this was the highlight of the evening. There were other reunions too that kicked ass. But this one was advertised all day.

  • while it was not a great performance technically..that day was magic...I'll never forget the feeling of seeing them back...

  • check out my piano cover. spent a lotta time on the solo thanks guys :)

  • this concert cant be in 1985 John Bonham die 1980. their first

cocert without him was 2007 with Jason Bonham.

  • @4everEddie lol this was in 85 at live Aid collins was behind the drums;-)

  • @poseidon26ful they really played without Bonham. I think all time there next cocert after his dead was 2007.

  • @4everEddie i understand but they heave gif a gig in 2004 there is a dvd of it it calls no Quater;-)

  • @poseidon26ful ok i

  • @4everEddie ;-)

  • @4everEddie are you a prize dickhead?

  • @06mgibson no I drink

  • Time is the issue to make things all better. . . sometimes it just runs out and you have to do with what you have. Fans didnt notice that day. It is only many years later that when people have nothing better to do than analize every single cord, every note sung that anyone hears. Damn, if you were even old enough to be there then you would know that!

  • Led Zep disowned this performance and refused to let it appear on the Live Aid DVD but donated a fair sum to charity instead.

It's a cr@p performance by Zep standards so at least there's the O2 performance from a few years ago to remember them by if that's the last time they play together. Hopefully it won't be....

  • thats not how the song goes!!

the song didnt remain the same . boom

  • "...what is going to become of these relationships once Live Aid passes...", Robert and Jimmy hate Phil...Phil hates Robert and Jimmy...and they all live not so happily ever after...the end lol

  • @drnapls2 no..u suck

  • @drnapls2 I'm gonna kill you...

  • @HouseOfTheGraffiti You actually think that performance was good? IT SUCKED!!!

  • oh shady, you are a clown.

  • Just like 85 cut away and screw it all up..

  • Dieser Song von Led Zeppelin bringts noch heute fertig - jedesmal eine Gänsehaut!

  • somebody's talking shit shit shit....

  • 3 of the worst things to happen to Led Zeppelin : 1. John Bonham dying, 2. Breaking up and 3. This performance

  • led zepp, judas priest, and black sabbath all at the same concert, share some of the epic please

  • @NinjaJedi11

All the Bands hat the same probs, but what about the nose problem OOOh, there must be something you can see it.

  • @NinjaJedi11 forgot queen

  • led zepp, judas priest, and black sabbath all at the same concert, share some of the epic please

  • plant forgot some lyrics, instruments were outta tune, they had some asswipe 80s drummer whos career went down the toilet for good reason playing with them, and it was 100 degrees outside. recipe for a total POS performance in just about any case

  • where the hell is the guitare solo? I hate this version nothing compare to the Madison square Garden in 1973

  • He is not drunk! He is on heroin!!!! Anyone ever listened to this song backwards? Its a satanic message from start to finish! No joke!

  • @comazzi07

    Err...

Do you know, backwards messages do nothing?

  • This was the only time I've ever seen Led Zeppelin live...I loved it!!!! They were amazing!

It was sooooooooooooo hot that day...the fire dept sprayed us with water hoses and it was great...the bands must have been so uncomfortable!

  • This was the only time I've ever seen Led Zeppelin live...I loved it!!!! They were amazing!

  • Jimmy page is drunk

  • @joaopaulocataldi you can tell, for real?

  • They should have refurbished J.F.K. Stadium instead of knocking it down.

  • robert plants definatly one of the greatest frontmans to ever live, i'd say its a 3-way tie between, john lennon, freddy murcury, hands down!

  • should have been so so much better. Best band in the world ! Shame they fell from grace

  • why the terrible edit?

  • dire straits stole the show. zep is still my favorite, but man... paige was DRUNK!

  • Other guitar please. bad song.

  • @4lqu1mista Go F*** yourself

  • @jordyzdam yes?

  • remember live aid 2 shows 2 cities it was for a rock and roll charity pal

  • grande Jimmy....

  • Zeppelin sounds better in this concert with minimum rehearsal and tuning problems than any artists nowadays at their best.

  • wow you can tell they didnt like this

  • too bad that John Bonham couldn't do this :'(

he would give the song some more groove

  • wtf is with the edit?

  • WTF they cut of the best part of the song

  • The G string is a little bit out.

  • Man

  • wow that was shit

  • uch so sloppy especially compared to the likes of sabbath and priest

  • WTF???

Can this even be called Stairway to Heaven? Where was the epic song that everyone knows, loves and deserves to hear!!!

  • @ACE0HUNTER sometimes there are good performances and somtimes there are not that good, thats with every band

  • WTF???

Can this even be called Stairway to Heaven? Where was the epic song that everyone knows, loves and deserves to hear!!!

I mean I like the and I like the song, but this performance does neither any justice at all. The beginning was pretty poor as the guitar seemed a little out of tune, the middle was practically none existant and the end was a little cut of too.

  • Plant was warming up by the end. Pity the show didn't really work out as planned.

  • is it edited

  • Zeppelin hated this performance. Their instrauments were out of tune and minimal rehersal time. Plant was unhappy with the performance, saying that "it was like sleeping with your ex-wife but not making love."

  • yes maybe , but they are STILL the greatest rock band ever to grace the planet

    LEGENDS

  • I saw Robert on a chat show saying that he was not in best voice...but he did it for the cause. For us old timer Zep fans, it was like Valhalla to see Zep again.

    R.I.P. John Bonham.

  • Acrylicdrums - Agreed. Great moment and I was there, only 20 rows back. As a fellow drummer I love Phil Collins. But they rehearsed with Tony Thompson (only 1.5 hours) and I saw no need to have Phil up there too. He often looked like he was taking lead from Tony anyway. Robert was touring solo at the time as was Jimmy (with The Firm), so though they were both still active, it seems their newer styles had them lacking the best Zep efforts. But regardless, musically historical - Valhalla indeed.

  • @Shadynevermind It still sounds awesome!

  • Plant's comparisons are godlike lol

  • @Shadynevermind having your instrument out of tune is a bad thing yes...so why not do something about it....zeppelin were idiots for not rehearsing enough...zeppelin lost musical quality when plant fucked up his voice in the early 70s anyway...almost everything he sang and recorded after that sucked...except alison krauss album...that shit ruled...

  • @Shadynevermind

As a fan, I was extremely glad to see it happen...but you listen to how hoarse Plant was (and he was right in the middle of a tour, no less), how out of shape Jimmy's playing was, and the lack of cohesiveness of the drummers (both great, just not together on this day) and it's a damn shame that it was captured forever on video.

It's something that would have been a lot better in memory than in repeat viewing.

  • @Shadynevermind yea well look at 2:53 ''you know what i mean?'' that was probally that :S

  • @Shadynevermind Plant was particularly unhappy with Phil Collin's drumming. He said that he didn't knew the songs. Collins said later that before the show there was a strange, dark atmosphere between the Led Zeppelin members.

  • hey it skipped the solo!

  • best song ever wroted :)

  • wroted? wtf... lol!

  • best sing ever wroutted

  • @pennan0fc XD written...

  • Bad Clip

    Where is the mid section

  • \m/

  • I met Robert Plant loads of times @my cousins house in birmingham, they went to school together but i was young and took no notice, they would sit in the lounge and jam with other ppl! but later on i luved their music when they became famous! I just remember they wore sandles and had long hair n beards HaHa ; ))

  • your damn lucky

  • still know him?

  • No solo>

  • Funny... This is in Philly.. I was in a bar car en route to philly... When an announcement came on the radio 10 miles out of Veteran's Stadium .. That Bonzo had passed.. & Zep cancelled.

  • :'( that's not funny at all

  • Sorry I meant to say coicindentally instead of funny.

  • Queen never ever did anything better than Led Zeppelin, get your facts straight.

  • its an opinion

  • i know. good job

  • @RRJacksonV03 bohemian rhapsody's pretty damn epic.

  • i could go the rest of my life not hearing the word 'epic' and be alright. What does it matter if its 'epic'? Being epic has nothing to do with being a memorable or noteworthy piece of music. I'm not saying 'Bohemian' isnt a great song, but FUCK epic, HARD

  • i hate the word too, but that's the only word i could describe it that would do it justice.

  • my fav band

ummm id say achilles last stand is my favourite song tho. no quarter is good too. jimmy paige is REALLY creative in guitar playing.

  • led zeppelin made a cd in 82 then bonham died and no other drummer can come close to him see they have 2

  • coda was released in 1982 it was a compilation of older material the band had in the vaults their last studio album was in through the out door in 1979 . john bonham died in 1980 not 1982. I remember it well I was 15 years old same year we lost john lennon just 3 months later in december of 1980 both deaths were horrible for the rock world

  • @twilightdimension

I could have written the exact same thing...I too was 15yrs old. Bonham dead? Crushed. Lennon dead? Crushed.

  • led zepp best band to ever live

  • @zeppelinfan1994 well, many other cool jazz bands are very much more powerful than the zep.

try with this name: MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA

  • What the fuck was that.......... they cut half of the song. Better half

  • Robert Plant has not sung very high in this

    evening........

  • nice ... plant is the best ... brill

  • Pant had lost his distinctive voice by then

  • Phil Collins said: I have a friend..he is singing very good..his name is Robert Plant...:):):)

    :)

  • Phil Collins and Tony Thompson from the band power station were playing the drums. Thank Crist for Tony Thompson.

  • PHLI COLLINS FUCKED IT UP FOR ZEEP

  • where the hell is Solo ??

  • phil collins is the drummer in this video. john bohnom didnt die until 1980

  • SOLO???

  • Sorry, I mean 1980

  • his son Jason Bonham

  • Comment removed

  • bonham died in 1980

  • I know. Check the comment again.

  • his son Jason Bonham is playing the drums

  • No, actually in this concert Phil Collins is playing drums for Page, Plant and JPJ :)

  • haha that is very fast version

    1!!!!!

  • WTH hell plant wearing lul!! hah i still luv him XP lol 85 was when page starting to look asian.. this is my belief :P

  • what the hell? last verse? solo? did some body crap up or what???

  • Ediçãozinha do caralho essa eim???

porra mó espectativa de ver pelo menos o solo....

    msm assim.. mtu foda!

  • wheres the effing solo???!

  • they skipped half the song

  • that was a stupid thing to do middle of the song changing it like that i thought the video got cut off they killed it. this kind of songs are major hits and means great things to millions. pink floyd reunited and played last time on live 8 few years ago. they played together confortably numb. they didnt cut or they played the whole song and the solo... and it was greatest moment in history of rock. they moved millions; they stole the show

  • i think the video is cut off... seems too abrupt to be real

  • wow i love this song but they sucked live...queen rocked the frikkin stage

  • where was this?

  • philadelphia

  • this was an amazing performance, but it was freddies night.

  • jimmy page was such a great guitarist...soo hammered here and still good

  • lol Jimmy at 0:52...He is soooooooooooo drunk...

  • haha but still awesome!

  • How many people were there?

  • about 85,000
