Often immitated but never duplicated. 80's FOREVER.
I love the songs Heart did during their Capitol records period but that "BIG 80's" production during this era is lousy..the whole band is drenched in reverb, too many keyboards and the guitars are buried in the mix.

She would provided more luxurious vocals however. Yeah you're righ, even nicer than JA easily.

At the time, the girls Heart could do nothing wrong. This was like the 17th single from Bad Animals and it was the sound of late night top 40 at the time. It was produced perfectly. And it's omitted from 80's playlists and shows even today. I think this might be my favorite Heart song. Cape 104 forever!

You know what I like about the '80s? It was a decade of abundance, not like the austerity of today. Case in point: does the drummer really need all those drums? Maybe, maybe not, but we can tell he has all the equipment he needs to do his job. Plus, he's having the air conditioning ducted in, so he can be comfortable while he works. No "suffering is good for the soul" here!

I remember hearing Nancy being interviewed on the radio when this song came out. The DJ actually asked her if it was hard to sing and play guitar at the same time. She was like, "Um... well I have been playing since I was a kid." Her response was way more gracious than he deserved. Ann and Nancy Wilson are stellar musicians...period. :-)

i love the song, but this video always seemed like a dumping ground for 5 or 6 barely fleshed-out ideas. The Egyptian thing meets the ice plant meets the fake live concert venue...But with this last viewing, I noticed that they frame-squeezed every shot that Ann's in to make her face look thinner, and it really pissed me off.
Ann Wilson, in my book, is one of the top 5 female rock singers ever, and if she's struggled with her weight - big deal.

One of my fav's from this band. Great to hear Nancy could sing a rockin tune like this after she did so great with These Dreams. What really stinks is this and other songs from their rebirth in the 80's goes ignored by the girls nowadays in their concerts (except for These Dreams and a slowed down version of Alone). i love the song, but this video always seemed like a dumping ground for 5 or 6 barely fleshed-out ideas. The Egyptian thing meets the ice plant meets the fake live concert venue...But with this last viewing, I noticed that they frame-squeezed every shot that Ann's in to make her face look thinner, and it really pissed me off.
Ann Wilson, in my book, is one of the top 5 female rock singers ever, and if she's struggled with her weight - big deal.

@hibob418 She's struggled with her weight for her entire life. In those 70s vids where she's slender, she was also starving. Sad world we live in when a woman has to *stop eating* to be at a normal weight and to be considered fully human--it's a wonder we still live longer than men on average.

One of my fav's from this band. Great to hear Nancy could sing a rockin tune like this after she did so great with These Dreams. What really stinks is this and other songs from their rebirth in the 80's goes ignored by the girls nowadays in their concerts (except for These Dreams and a slowed down version of Alone). I'd think they'd realize they have just as many fans from the mid-late 80's era as there are from the 70's that they are favoring now in their concerts.

Yep,some if not most music videos back then were very weird and geeky but even they are better than what you see now because those who made them took the time to create it like Rod Stewart's "Lost In You". or Duran Duran's "Rio".
