Dude, you can't just "start, recovery, recovery manager" Recovery Manager did NOT come up on the start menu. I went on Back up and Restore Center... but it won't restore the whole computer, only a few months back. Can you help me out??

We are using the same exact laptop here, but whenever I try to start mine it just has a black screen. I have tried f11, all that happens is an ear ripping beep. It will not start normally, in safe mode, or any of it. Most of the time it goes to startup recovery or the option for safe mode. None work.

I have tried this as well as hitting F11 at start up. My pc will say "Windows is loading files". The little gray status bar at the bottom will progress across several times and then after about 10minutes of no progress my HP laptop will shut down. It has 11 Trojens from the kids and this has happened before and I didn't have a problem doing a factory restore. So why can't I do it now?

For those who when click yes on recovery to factory condition and the their computer restarts normaly and get no recovery or nothing is changed and they just do back to the normal disktop all what you have to do is restart your computer nomaly without the recovery and once the machine started immediatly click on F11 and that will take you to the (recovery system to factory condition) , and then contiue the steps with this guy in the video , , i hope this helps !!

For some reason when I do what you say, I select yes then click next and another window pops up and disappears then my computer restarts. I select Windows Vista (because I have Vista and Ubuntu on my computer) and then it just goes to my normal desktop without showing the recovery screen or anything.

@chrysabra Well it turns out that my problem was the graphics card. I opened up my computer, and removed it then windows started just fine with the default card. I got a new card and now the computer is perfectly fine, I really wish I hadn't reformatted my hard drive now but at least it's fixed. I'm sorry that you have a laptop, I don't think there is a way you can check it the same way I did. Best bet might be taking it to a computer repair shop and maybe they can tell you if it's your card.
