My understanding of AKB48 is that they are really kind of a theater troupe because they perform either every day or several times a week in a certain theater in Tokyo. I think the fact that they are sort of a Tokyo version of a Las Vegas show (that happens to feature teenage Japanese girls) makes it possible for them to have an unusually large number of members.

I love Mana Ashida, she is the sweetest little 6-year-old in the world, and also an amazing actress. I love watching her on variety shows like SMAPXSMAP where she admitted that she gets 10 yen for helping her parents wash the dishes, and played hide and seek with SMAP. Tbh the guy that put AKB48 togetther is a marketing genius. He creates a group with tones of different girls, so atleast one of them will appeal to guys, then he splits them into defferent groups allowing them to be in like 12 places at once, the guy must be making a killing in profits, to bad the girls have to split it like 100 ways.

Her mannerisms are VERY Japanese...it is funny actually, I forgot about them, I lived in Japan a long time ago. I am living in Korea now and they don't act like that, very different, they have their own little things they do, I prefer the Japanese mannerisms for sure.
