what do you guys think? I guess you expect people all be crying or everywhere is fire or something. Life continues even in a war. haven't you guys ever lived in a country in war? I guess not. you think in a war children don't play with each other or people don't drive their car or people don't fall in love with somebody?
Things have changed drastically since our tour began in the end of 2007. West Rashid is relatively peaceful and Mansour is decent. Route Irish now looks like your going into a childrens museum as you pass under overpasses. Children play in the areas now. Parks are actually staying up after they are built. Public swimming pools are in effect and even a soccer stadium has been built up. yes there are still insurgency issues but they are around 10% of what they used to be. Im glad I got to see it.
The truth it's that the iraqi people is suffering many problems like the bad water, lack of electrcity and more but right now with their strenght, Baghdad and other cities like Basra, Mosul, Diwaniya and Kirkuk, the situation is "normal" until now but this success it's reversible and this can to rise, anyway ! it's a country very rich and plenty of dreams and nice ideas to your country from the people. LONG LIVE IRAQ !
its not really "one sided." i know pleny of people who visited baghdad, they say its similar to this, but their will be occasional explosions. i don't think the person who posted the vid edited out all teh bad parts and made it seem all nice. this is how it is and there are dangerous times and safe times, but the country is in war and life their isnt good, this is in baghdad remember. the capital city. the real bad stuff happens in teh suberbs like sadr city and surrounding cities
Thank you for the rational informed comment. You are correct. No one said that there is no evil or bad things happening there, just that the MAJORITY of the time its actually very nice there and the MAJORITY of Iraqies are beginning to have almost normal lives.
