if you do crossfit training you have to do full body workouts, legs are completely seperate from upper body you dont get tired from gyming unless you do cardio shit. So you can do full body workouts every second day, these guys are just oldies and need more time to recover.
Not that I'm hating on you guys or anything but the old school bodybuilders utilized full body workouts for a good majority of their workouts. Check out C.S. Sloans articles on this topic, he has a bunch of good ones.
I have been reading that Full-Body workouts are the best for a skinny-fat ECTOMORPH like me, so I have been doing a ONE SET H.I.T. Routine hitting every muscle, and I have also tried the STRONGLIFTS 5x5. These are both Full-Body workouts. So, these are NOT good programs?
When you first start out you should do whole body three times a week, just doing 1 compound exercise per muscle group, getting your body used to the stress of lifting weights. Then after a month or two start to split up body parts on different days, adding more exercises, like Torso one day, arms + legs next day, working 4 or 5 days per week. Or Push exercises one day, pull exercises next. Eventually splitting each muscle group in to its own separate day.
Stats when I started out: 18 years old, Height: 181cm, Weight: 79kg
Primary goal: Maximal strength, mostly 5 reps and under. First routine was simple FB routine with 1-2 rest days in between. The second was ABC hybrid routine(3x5 one week, 3x8 the second).
After 10 months of these 2 routines= Weighted 85kg and had lost a bit fat. DL 5x90kg->4x175kg, Squat 5x70->3x3x125kg, BP 5x52,5->5x82,5, OP 5x3->3x60, Chin-ups 3->13
yo everyone there is a blood drive at my school on Thursday and i have been taking creatine regularly... Is this a problem at all? let me know please!
I knew a guy who used to like to do full body workouts after a long hiatus from the gym... then he'd be all hurt and wouldn't recover very well; he wouldn't wanna go back for a while after that. He never seemed to build a good routine because of that.
I have seen good results with a 5x5 program (if youre unaware of it look it up). With this program I would be doing rows, bench press and squats in one day. I gained a considerable amount of strength and size. I think the trick is to change your routines every so often between strength and size so you train different muscle fibers.
Yo guys what do you think of strength training prior to muscle mass training for a couple of months? Like Starting Strength, which is in a way a 2 day split?
I'm gonna try the full body workout for a while, cause i feel like i'm not gaining enough muscle when i do splits. Well i have a long way to go cause i have been lifting for 5 months and all this 5 months i have been doing splits. So i'm going to try the full body workout to see if i get better result or not, but thank you for the video it was helpful.
@kaykay1243111 That other guy told you this wrong. 3 day split means that you split your excersises over 3 days in a week. For example monday chest+triceps, wednesday back+biceps, friday legs+shoulders. The rest of the week you rest.
What about if you are young 14/15 and you can only get to gym once a week, do you still do only a couple of muscles say like back and biceps or do you do full body because you only hitting gym once. ?
u guys is videos r amazing cuz they have so much info nd ur funny ass fuck nd being a sixteen year old guy they catches my attention by u guys comedy nd i also learn so when i go to my crappy gym i can actually no if im doing something right or wrong from they crappy trainer they have
I bloody love your videos! I use full body workouts when I'm training for big martial arts events, they take an hour and are high reps low rest, in my experience i have gained quiet a bit from these despite the fact thats not what they're meant for, and when i combine them with 3 day splits for 3 weeks in between, i get much stronger each time! just my experience though!
lol, i do bench press, incline bench press, lat pull down, bicep curl, dumbbell shrug, shoulder press, tricep kickbacks in every workout 3 times week, is that too much?
@NORTHERNIRISHULTRAS No prob, I hope you can shred up. As I said circuit training and HIIT are great for fat loss but eventually if you lose the fat or start to care more about muscle building I would change out the circuit training for a regular compound movement based weightlifting workout with rest in between sets like what TMW recommends or a Rippetoe workout. Whatever works best for you!
Hey fellas I'm 24 and just picked up my first weight 6 months ago. I've been doing full body since jumpstreet. I have not allowed myself to go over 70 mins a workout. I've lost 30 pounds in these 6 months. I've shredded fat and seems like only toned my muscles. How do you guys break down your 3 day split? I think its time for me to switch it up
@mattgonz12 i do full body workouts all tha time, if i was you just make sure your doing enough weight to give you alot of resistance and do it till u feel like you won't get one more rep, i do that and i move up about 10-15 lbs on my benchpress and i am 17 140lbs and a 205 max bench press
Higher Resistance Less Repetition=Power and Size
Low Resistance High Repetition=Endurance and Definition
Man a lot if you are dick suckers on here they just giving advice what works for them it's not written in stone , remove your tounges from the twins arses please!
"If you are a classic physique builder and tell the personal trainers at the fitness center that you are doing 3 full body workouts each week, they would probably think you are crazy!"
@NORTHERNIRISHULTRAS if you just want fat loss why not do HIIT 3 days a week plus either supersets or circuit training 3 days a week? HIIT and weights shouldn't be done every day so you can alternate them and still be working out 6 days a week.
For example:
Mon, Wed, Fri: mountain climbers FULL POWER(key) 30 secs, rest 15 sec, repeat 5 -20 times
Tue/Th/Sa: 2 sets 10 reps of - flat bench, squats, rows, mil. press, lat pull downs - Min. rest, up the weight or reps as often as possible.
Why would anyone listen to the twins about full body workouts when they never did them correctly in the first place. Hell, they don't even squat or deadlift, And don't tell me "hey mayne they got back problems dumbass", because I injured my lower back from work and I still do both, and it even helps alleviate the pain. IS IT BEST 2 WORKOUT EVERY THREE DAYS OR IS IT BETTER TO WORKOUT EVERYDAY I USED TO WORK OUT EVERY THREE DAYS NOW I WORKOUT EVERYDAY SO WHICH ONE IS BEST PLEASE WRITE BACK
@Muscle1995Man I think you will recover better, and train better if you have at least 1 day in between sessions. How many times do you train per week?
@55LanceBriggs I WORK OUT EVERY WEEK I DO SHORT HIGH INTENSITY WORKOUTS AND DO 100 OF EVERY DUMBELL EXERCISE I DO TO GET VERY FAST RESULTS AND IT WORKS BUT IS WORKING OUT EVERY DAY BETTER THAN WORKING OUT EVERY THREE DAYS WHICH IS BETTER FOR YOUR BODY
@Muscle1995Man Neither. Work out 3 days a week every other day. Or 4 days, where you can do like Monday Tuesday, rest wednesday, do Thursday Friday, then rest for the weekend
Hey guys I'm 16 and I've been working out for 3 months now. I can definately see improvement, but I don't know if I should be taking any supplements or anything. Kids I know say they take jacked, and lift more weight than I do even though I'm "bigger" than them. Is it safe for me to be taking jack3d or creatine or anything? I'm 6'2" at 185 lbs.
@poomasterfu Wait til your 18 before you take creatine, jack3d id wait too but if you try it once or twice it wont kill you. Protein and gainers and all that shit is perfectly fine, keep it up buddy!
@poomasterfu I think you should be spending your money on girls, beer (try to get it free when you can), and shit that makes you laugh.
Been there with a lot of the stuff you mention. Supplements are a really small part of success. How you train is probably going to be the difference between winning and losing 98% of the time. I wouldn't waste my money on supplements. Best thing you can do is learn about strength and conditioning programming from scientific books
thats snap city track is ok but its got to have a regular rythem flow whilst spitting the lyrics. mr keith and mr kevin in your next video spit some bars man lol
I just got back from the gym, i did a full body workout. Then tmrw is chest an core, follow after that, lower body and legs. I thinks that's a nice routine... But that's just advice y'all.. Go out deerrr and do whatever the FUK you wanna do!
hey tmw! i wanna know if i take creatine after my workout and then bang my girl and skeet all over, am i wasting creatine??? please answer this is a serious question. like it up so they can see it
im don from the U.k. and i was trying to send a message to your inbox but i coudlnt because you have to add me to your list but anyway,
my question is this. on your rest days is it ok to do pushups, jogging ETC? please do a video on this subject and give a shout out to DON from the U.K. please!
I like how they start with deep manly voices the as the video goes on into the conversation, their voices become normal with a higher pitch. haha <3 that change!
Hey, does anyone want to buy a 4pound tub of optimum nutrition vanilla casein, ive opened it and had two scoops, otherwise it is untouched and all like new. Ill sell it for abut £34 pounds( bought for £43)
Fullbody = Quick workout who are pressed for time and for fat loss. And... the weight you are using is alot less than what you do for your 3 day split.
loving my push/pull/legs split but I started out with full body workouts in the first year because I had to learn all the right executions for the compound movements, I'd say if you got those right you can advance to a 2 day and later on a 3 day split
@MBryantFFNY the reason why the workouts don't take long is because you don't do one lift at a time. it's just 4 phases, we'll superset 2 core stability lifts (not crunches, strictly strength and stability), then an explosive lift such as a scoop throw or hang clean, then a power phase which may include a superset of dead lift, split squat, SA neutral grip chest press, gym rows. followed a strength superset.. if you eat right, train right, it'll work. i gained 45 pounds in 2 years, 8.7% body fat
Are you kidding me. The reason Pros or people on enhancements don't do full body id because their protein synthesis levels are elevated for much longer periods of time for 5 to 6 days and with naturals the maximum time for protein synthesis for most muscles is maybe 36-48 hours max. So if your natural then using full body workouts are much better. But only if done right meaning not going to complete failure and keeping the volume moderate. Plus your recovery capabilities will improve over time.
@MBryantFFNY when i do my full body workouts i physical training only takes about an hour, but about 90 minutes when you factor it warm-up, cool-down, and conditioning. and we drink 1 cytofuse shake during our workout, and 1 after so the body doesn't go catabolic. by movement, i mean things like form running, wall-marches, cross-over marches, ankling, etc. and prior and subsequent to every workout, you should grab a dense foam roller and a lacrosse ball and roll out your muscles.
the guys that did 300 and spartacus do full body training and they have rock solid muscles just saying
our ancestors and all animals work(ed) out their whole body all the time so i think you can incoporate it sometimes for a change but i agree a 3 day split is the best.
First time I disagree, guys... Problem is not the fullbodyworkout causing cortisol.. It's the time to complete a fullbodyworkout that causes the cortisol... I've read on the net that cortisol spikes after 45 minutes, thus recommendation is to keep gymsessions under 1hour, otherwise you're indeed flooded by cortisol. You guessed it right, I'm doing fullbodyworkouts, separated by 3three days. Main reason is lack of time and convenience fullbodyworkouts give me with (now) a family... Keep it up..
@UIsTall I hear ya, man.Like I said it was a recommendation I've read somewhere. In the past I've kept my sessions below 1.5 hr, cos 45 mins is way too short, but ok. We all need to do what we like best and what gives us results. In my case, I get my results from fullbodyworkouts, mainly cos I have no time to pick up a better alternative, namely 4day split. Just don't have the time due to family/work time restraints. And fullbodyworkouts generate results as well. And I'm no noob... :-)
i dont do splits, my work outs are like this,Monday= chest,Tuesday= back,Wednesday= shoulders,Thursday= legs,Friday= arms,Saturday and Sunday is rest days, then i repeat, i wake up and eat 3 eggs. toast and vitamins and omega 3, 3 hours later a lean meat, broccoli, brown rice, 3 hours later after that same thing but no rice and eat a sweet potato, i gym after school for a hour, then eat protein shake, hour half later same meal as the first, then cottage cheese and broccoli before bed,its easy..
Doing full body workouts has been proven to be one of the most effective ways to gain strength and size. Sticking to a 3x5 all across or 5x5 weight ramping rep scheme and having heavy / light days is probably one of the best ways to keep adding weight to the bar each week for most people. Doing heavy leg compound lifts before doing upper body lifts also helps with their growth since if you hit your legs hard first your testosterone and hGH production will increase.
Hey Twins too bad you didnt make this vid before! i did Arnolds golden six for 1month and snapped both of my knees 1month couldnt do anything whit my legs.
Arnolds golden six is like this
1.squat
2.flat benchpress
3.wide grip pull ups
4.shoulder press standing up behind neck
5.bicep curls
6.sit ups
3 workouts a week atleast 1 day rest between workouts.
@ollervo You fucked your knees cause you were squatting wrong, not cause you were squatting 3x a week. I bet you didn't 1) go parallel or ATG with your squats and 2) didn't look at your form and continually try to improve it.
@anonyturtlewat i dont think so, i went to the doctor and he said i got strain injury. it never hurted while squatting and i was paying attention on my form warmed up alot and did stretching. I just think ive should have done lighter sets when my legs werent recovered enought.
@ollervo it won't hurt while squatting but squatting with bad form is an easy way to do some damage to your knees. You probably were startomg off with too much weight if you ended up injured after 1 month OR you were stretching too much before your sets (you're only supposed to do a dynamic warmup before sets, stretching weakens the muscles). I've personally saw my squat go from 40kg starting to over 130kg now while doing heavy sets of 3x5 3x a week
@ollervo why would you try to do the same workout of somebody thats on steroids? if ur natural u need 3 to 4 days rest between working the same body part. the workout u were doin only allows for 1 days rest. 3 day splits ftw!
@CertifiedHustler68 Bodybuilders very rarely do full body workouts, they stick to splits cause they can get away with it because of steroids. If you want to increase your strength or mass you should be hitting bodyparts multiple times a week using light days mixed with your heavy days to aid in recovery.
No wonder why I couldn't build no muscle in high school when I was playing football. That shit was terrible. Weightlifting in football didn't help me at all in the game. All my strength came from plyometrics
Go check out this old guy named "twinmuscleadvises" or something like that, I think he is obsessed with these guys or something. I remember him from a comment where he said it is good to do full body workouts for young people with 42 SETS. ;S
Could someone answer me my question?...so i go 3 times a week to the gym, and yes,i do fullbody workouts...so would it be better for me to train in my first training day, to train my upper body, then my legs and then again upper body?...or did i get something wrong? (sorry if i mispelled something or my grammar sucks,I'm not from an english speaking country).thanks!
That´s what i did when i first started. And not only that, i did high reps everytime. I think i did like 500 situps and 70 dumbell curls. Didn´t do that for too long though, but i remember doing it. Dumbass noob xD

Muscle1995Man 1 month ago
@Muscle1995Man Neither. Work out 3 days a week every other day. Or 4 days, where you can do like Monday Tuesday, rest wednesday, do Thursday Friday, then rest for the weekend

Hey guys I'm 16 and I've been working out for 3 months now. I can definately see improvement, but I don't know if I should be taking any supplements or anything. Kids I know say they take jacked, and lift more weight than I do even though I'm "bigger" than them. Is it safe for me to be taking jack3d or creatine or anything? I'm 6'2" at 185 lbs.
poomasterfu 1 month ago in playlist Uploaded videos
@poomasterfu Wait til your 18 before you take creatine, jack3d id wait too but if you try it once or twice it wont kill you. Protein and gainers and all that shit is perfectly fine, keep it up buddy!
CAgunNut 1 month ago
@poomasterfu No, Wait until you're around 21 before that stuff. Stick to Protein, Aminos, and natural stuff.
imvincenzo10 1 month ago
@poomasterfu I think you should be spending your money on girls, beer (try to get it free when you can), and shit that makes you laugh.
Been there with a lot of the stuff you mention. Supplements are a really small part of success. How you train is probably going to be the difference between winning and losing 98% of the time. I wouldn't waste my money on supplements. Best thing you can do is learn about strength and conditioning programming from scientific books

Fullbody = Quick workout who are pressed for time and for fat loss. And... the weight you are using is alot less than what you do for your 3 day split.
hanz2lk 1 month ago
loving my push/pull/legs split but I started out with full body workouts in the first year because I had to learn all the right executions for the compound movements, I'd say if you got those right you can advance to a 2 day and later on a 3 day split
MelficeZero 1 month ago
@MBryantFFNY the reason why the workouts don't take long is because you don't do one lift at a time. it's just 4 phases, we'll superset 2 core stability lifts (not crunches, strictly strength and stability), then an explosive lift such as a scoop throw or hang clean, then a power phase which may include a superset of dead lift, split squat, SA neutral grip chest press, gym rows. followed a strength superset.. if you eat right, train right, it'll work. i gained 45 pounds in 2 years, 8.7% body fat
iEquivalence 1 month ago

This is utter bullshit! The body only needs 48-72 hours of rest, so do your whole freaking body every other day if you want to!
Almost all power lifters and strongmen do full body every 48-72 hours.
This is complete horse crap tmw

LOL. This is funny. I've done full body before and never felt super exhausted. Everyone's opinion.
UIsTall 1 month ago
First time I disagree, guys... Problem is not the fullbodyworkout causing cortisol.. It's the time to complete a fullbodyworkout that causes the cortisol... I've read on the net that cortisol spikes after 45 minutes, thus recommendation is to keep gymsessions under 1hour, otherwise you're indeed flooded by cortisol. You guessed it right, I'm doing fullbodyworkouts, separated by 3three days. Main reason is lack of time and convenience fullbodyworkouts give me with (now) a family... Keep it up..
TheMichelR 1 month ago in playlist Uploaded videos
@TheMichelR I've been in the gym for more than 45 minutes and gained lots of strength & size that way. It's pure shit, pure shit.
UIsTall 1 month ago

6.sit ups
3 workouts a week atleast 1 day rest between workouts.
ollervo 1 month ago
@ollervo You fucked your knees cause you were squatting wrong, not cause you were squatting 3x a week. I bet you didn't 1) go parallel or ATG with your squats and 2) didn't look at your form and continually try to improve it.
anonyturtlewat 1 month ago
@anonyturtlewat i dont think so, i went to the doctor and he said i got strain injury. it never hurted while squatting and i was paying attention on my form warmed up alot and did stretching. I just think ive should have done lighter sets when my legs werent recovered enought.
ollervo 1 month ago
@ollervo it won't hurt while squatting but squatting with bad form is an easy way to do some damage to your knees. You probably were startomg off with too much weight if you ended up injured after 1 month OR you were stretching too much before your sets (you're only supposed to do a dynamic warmup before sets, stretching weakens the muscles). I've personally saw my squat go from 40kg starting to over 130kg now while doing heavy sets of 3x5 3x a week
anonyturtlewat 1 month ago
@ollervo why would you try to do the same workout of somebody thats on steroids? if ur natural u need 3 to 4 days rest between working the same body part. the workout u were doin only allows for 1 days rest. 3 day splits ftw!
CertifiedHustler68 1 month ago
@CertifiedHustler68 Bodybuilders very rarely do full body workouts, they stick to splits cause they can get away with it because of steroids. If you want to increase your strength or mass you should be hitting bodyparts multiple times a week using light days mixed with your heavy days to aid in recovery.
