This was back when the Soviet Union had invaded and we had supplied the Afghans with arms and training. If we knew then what we know now, I would have let the Soviet Union have it. If you analyze my first comment, it is a bit sarcastic for a reason. Afghanistan was never given enough troops. I voted for W, 3 times...once as gov, and twice as pres.: I'm just a bit disappointed on the outcome. I have friends there and coworkers who are returning after being recalled.  I am all too familiar with Ft. Carson as I did some training at that location as well as Ft. Dix. I also have friends who cross commissioned and were stationed at Ft. Carson, south of Colorado Springs.
