The problem on this compact (like all TZ series) is that it does NOT supports RAW image standard, so it takes pictures in compressing data and losing much details. A very very negative point because if I take pictures it is also to record "good" pictures, not images that look fuzzy !
FOR GOD'S SAKE, Can ANYONE tell me the difference between Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ10/ZS7 Digital Camera and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ10 Digital Camera????????? Nobody has yet explained to me that!!! Thanks!!!!
I have Lumix DMC- TZ65.. You don't happen to know which is better? The guy I was talking to said the only biggest change is HD.. Mine doesn't have HD.. I bought it not a while ago, but I'm thinking of going down and changing it to this camera instead.. You got any input on if I should do it or not? Is this 2010 model? and do you happen to know anything aout TZ65? I would greatly appreciate it if you know anything at all.. I just want to have great quality going to a concert on monday..
TQ for the tip :), Concerning the blur, you probably need to lessen the aperture as opening it up higher will compromise the clarity and speed for the distance the object is at. I just noticed another recommended a ZS3 and you have the ZS7... I wonder how much upgrade improvement has emerged? Will check this soon...
As to yr q'n posed @ another reg. the WB650, it is great at shorter distances, color saturation as well but slower in zooming and certainly poor with night shots.
I can't honestly give a Thumbs UP on this utterly short review (is she unaware of the 15 mins limit YouTube offers???) but will neither thumbs it down. It is a review and would have preferred a lengthier one to cover as much as she can in a concise manner possibly beneficial should she truly believes the qualities of this camera. I too would like more focus addressed on the new & amazing features that this model innovates as oppose to earlier Lumixes, thats what enhancement is about, education:)
@UgoIgo I just bought a lumix zs7 three months ago and it's truly incredible. You can get incredibly sharp photos if you know how to fiddle with the ISO, sharpness control, and noise reduction. The panoramic, not to mention the high dynamic fotos are breathtaking. A little tip - KEEP YOUR HANDS VERY STEADY BECAUSE EVEN WITH THE ANTI-BLUR ON I NOTICE MOTION BLUR.
After use of this camera for about a month, have following issue:
DUST PROTECTION-below all limits.
I have already several pieces of dust between the lenses (inside), so no possibility to clean it up by myself. Even I have carefully and accurately handling the camera, keeping it in the camera bag all the time when not shooting etc.
Now shooting video or stills there is recognizable dust points onto the picture.
I believe if it is meant for travel, it MUST HAVE better lens protection against dust
why does cnet always bag on panasonic on anythin the dam camera is good i tried it out before and its awsome it has manual setting aperture, shutter, and program ,the long time exposure is up to one mintue opened shutter lens, and it records hd video, what else do you really need, this camera rocks and panasonic please take your time to make a ultra better camera, i mean you dont have to but, if you release one any time soon cnet is going to bag on you like always
@joshk0007 It would really help WHY you think it's crappy compared to samsung's wb650 (which I think is a very good camera by the way).Does it crash often? Are the images really not so sharp? Is it unreliable? Does it crash most of the time? Please qualify because I'm torn between buying the lumix and the samsung. No hate, just enlighten, ok josh?
@MrAkihiros Buy a Lumix, I have the ZS3 and I don't regret buying it one bit. It is THE best hybrid camera on the market and its HD video is better than the top of the line Sony cameras that have HD movie capability. It also has the best lens, Leica and the camera is made in Japan.
@joshk0007 Canon and Samsung lack a good HD video option (can't really use it as a camcorder unlike Panasonic). Panasonic beats both when it comes to filming and there is no comparison. Picture quality in the daylight is probably a toss-up between all three cameras but Panasonic provides much more vibrant colors that pop out visually.
@efadaei I already have, efadaei, and I'm playing around with its limitations - difficulty focusing in lmacro lowlight even with assist lamp on ( I wonder if its an isolated case, though), heats up a bit, battery depletes quickly ( but maybe because I use it non-stop). That's it. Other than that, as you could see in youtube samples its just out of this world. Thanks!
@MrAkihiros ~~~I resolved this concern reg. batt depletion with arming oneself with a pack of charged reserve batteries. I have my current camera Samsung WB650, sleekly hooked always on my hipbelt, that also houses 4 batteries, enough to cover a 3,5 to 4 hour concert a time before they all gets recharged again in the hotel or in the car. I like continuous shooting too and often exploiting the zoom & flashlight for the simultaneous stil pics .

I took this from the Panasonic website.
• Series name and product number vary depending on the sales area (DMC-ZS7 or DMC-TZ10).
