Don't buy a whip for less than i'd say 75-80 dollars, but the really really good oens you know you're getting your money's worth are usually 300+

Check out eBay. I just got my ten-foot one in the mail for about $30, and it's real leather, four-strand. I really ended up getting this one so I could practice with it and practice proper care. I found higher strand count (and higher quality) whips on there for like $60 to $80, if memory serves correctly. :)

Sure you can swing on it, but I wouldn't recommend it. Good ones are costly, and you'd stretch the leather. Cheap ones won't hold your weight.
