  • Haha, have a go at Hanger Lane Gyratory in west London where the A406 and A40 cross each other. That is the mother of all road junctions. Eight lanes, eight exits and ten-thousand bad-tempered motorists every hour...

  • If you want roundabouts go to Skelmersdale.

  • i have witnessed an american trying to get through oxford. it was freaking hilarious.

  • Zeeeeeeeeebra crossing! lol

  • @outfromtheshadows he didn't elongate his E that much! lol

  • You're in Swindon it seems.

  • where i live in the uk theres a roundabout thats in the middle of one road but dosent go anywhere else (i think they are called something else?). so you have to go around it to carry on going down the road and theres no other roads attached to it. its on some small suburban street.

  • LOLL its amazinly funny how amreicans react to English roundabouts its pefectly normal over here

  • My God how could you say that? Roundabouts are a Godsend!

Constant movement of traffic as oppose to waiting at annoying traffic lights. Now take your pick.

BTW that roundabout in the video is rare - it's called a "Magic roundabout" - wonderful piece of art. Too bad we don't have them in New Zealand LOL.

  • "this is nuts though, this its nuts!" hahaha.......there are more difficult roundabouts here in the UK, like many in London. Those ones in the video weren't that bad lol.

  • We literally have millions of round-a-bouts in Australia. In small residential roads you may find 5, even if the road isn't fairly long. If you drive in the city you will find HUGE amounts. I do not understand how you guys drive without them ;)

    Explain CLICK REPLY :D

  • shit, don't americans have roundabouts in the states? no seriously, i want to know.

  • yes we do have round abouts in the US but nothing like this one. I call this a square about. If you take a look, there is a stop light at one end. The flow of traffic is 2 ways, plus you have a zebra crossing. Now how can this THING-- ROUNDABOUT SQUARE ABOUT HELP THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. I would love to see a american 16 wheeler try to get around this

  • In Los Angeles where I live there's only about less than 10 roundabouts in the entire city. The rest all what we called 'intersections' which is equivalant to juntions in the UK. Roundabouts are not popular in the states.

  • Personally I love roundabouts. I wish we have more of them in the US. They are fun to drive in and safer compare to 'intersections' which are more prone ot head-on & T-bone collisions.

  • I like to add that roundabouts are becoming more common in new US cities and residential areas. But still not as common as the UK.

  • @kellykellykellkell not like that! and we mostly call them traffic circles here

  • Its all in the signalling. Once you get that in your head, the rest of its easy.

  • Roundabouts are great because they keep traffic moving, prevent accidents and delays. It's nice not having to deal with a stop sign or traffic lights. A lot of American cities that have installed them have had great results. They really aren't hard to use and if you can not figure them out then you don't need to be driving. In this vid you sound like a typical narrowminded American and this is coming from a fellow American. You should only vacation within the United States.

  • We can't live with them, the traffic lights SUCK. America has the worst traffic flow... ever, haha. Even though we are LATE to follow England's example, America is indeed following in their footsteps, 30 years behind though. More and more are getting build and I can't wait for the day when the last traffic light is finally taken out!

  • Hey look kids, there's Big Ben, and Parliament... just cannot get LEFT!

  • Woah, New Zealands roundabouts are way less complicated than that, and have a much better trafic flow.

I dont know how americans can live with intersections!

  • americans are thick as two planks, they should go back to the states

  • The Magic Roundabout.

  • I get scared on big motorway roundabouts but other than that they're a piece of piss.

  • In Ipswich in suffolk, theres a double mini roundabout (the queue for each is on the other) forming the juction of six roads, we seem to manage that OK.

  • swindon... whata dumpish hellish grey crap hole of a roundabout ridden town

  • what on earth? there's nothing confusing about a roundabout... lol

  • its easy give way to the right and lots of rounabouts have traffic lights on them its not strange

  • Thats one thing about this round about--- it had stop lights going into it, plus the zebra crossing. round abouts do work, but this one is out of the norm.

  • Coming from an American who lives in the UK, roundabouts actually give traffic a more steady flow, and have been proven a better option than a traditional stop light/ 4-way intersection. This particular American is an idiot. Sure, when I first drove on roundabouts it was different, but nothing you can't learn in a matter of minutes, or using a little common sense.

  • lol

  • Whats so difficult about roundabouts?

  • I can't see how it's complicated for an american, you lot can just about handle stright lines
