  • Well yes... that's what the Buddha said after all:

"Your work is to discover your work and then with all your heart give yourself to it."

But I still think that means a lot of determination and hard work. 'Being your own boss' has a part to play in that I think.

Why not change what work is? Make work out of your life, make your life your work. Enjoyable, spacious, de-stressed, playful. Take your eyes off the bigger car, house and the need for expensive holidays to reward yourself for, or to get over your stressful work regime. Instead, create a life-work-style that is fun and negates the need for things that cost a lot of money.

That's the opportunity of freelancing for me. To create work that isn't really work at all.

    Enjoy life :-)

  • Why swap an externally imposed view of life and work (home v office) with an internally imposed one? The words used: "being your own boss" reflect this attitude.

Its helpful to have a space in which to work, but not necessary to mimic the old modes of "going to work" and re-create the things we don't like about "work" when we freelance.
