  • I bet the sound guy loved this set.

  • IT'S LIKE AN ORGY OF PURE AWESOME!!!

    Billy is awesome!!

  • Someone is playing infra bass

  • i bet its heavy as hell.

  • mudfest.... all i hear is muddy muddy mud.... hard to get a clean bass recording with a camera... i know that these guys sound a hundred times better than this

  • Sheehan needs 4 strings to play 4 times better then the other one there

  • cool man

  • Long live Babbit!

  • SEE!!All those naysayers and detracters are backpeddeling! Now you see!Oh!.Nine strings are cool!Where can I get a Nine string bass?

  • billy sheehan is the best bass player there, in my opinion,

  • Those low notes make my eyes squint.

  • thx

  • Thank you for posting this, to tell you the truth after watching "Touching Bass", I didn't want to watch another video of yours, but this quickly brought my faith back. Good job.

  • funny how Billy shows the 9 string guy where to play around 1:19.

I can just imagine what Sheehan was thinking...

  • yeah, really weird, I'd say a lack of something called respect maybe?!

  • very nice

  • I just imagine how expensive a 9 string set could be ! AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGH!!

  • That bass must be really really heavy.

  • how does one manage all those bloody strings

  • @happenstance314 "how does one manage all those bloody strings"

the way the bass (or the guitar, even) is tuned, eventually the intervals will show a pattern, which basically lays out the whole scale right in front of you. if he's tuned F# B E A D G C F A#, the scale moves one fret backwards every 2 octaves. guitars tune the C F strings to B E to make bar chords possible.

it's the reason i bought a 6-string bass and learned guitar, and both made me better on 4-string. just sayin'

  • Is it a sub-contra bass in the background?

  • i don't see the point in THAT many strings but hey, whatever, ROCK ON!

  • dude what are you talk his tone is way different in person you forget that this is a carappy camera mike and you computer speakers are not the best either and there is a ton of groove

  • holy cow

  • no two necks bass yet?

  • yes, fretted and fretless, you don't know?!

  • they should have two guys playing that thing.

  • where do you get strings for that??

  • I wanna know how the heck he mutes all those strings when he's not playing them

  • The concept of a nine string bass is just a bit to ridiculous and irrelevant. I mean 6 or 7 is a good number, but 9 is a bit pointless. If you want to play higher registers, chords, and 16th and 32nd notes, play guitar, trust me it's a lot easier. I'm not putting putting this guy down or anything-I liked it-I just don't think the purpose of bass playing should be to solo, it's to be the bass.

  • Why chose between bass or guitar when you can have both?

  • @dbeckster The "purpose" of playing bass is whatever you want it to be. It has a different sound than the guitar. Don't be so close-minded.

  • @dbeckster Limiting an instrument is ridiculous.

  • well done!

  • That's a huge pick up

  • that must be a bitch to restring

  • wow

  • OH wow

  • They sure showed some real MASTER SESSIONS =)

hahah, what a jam pack of greatest bass players

  • Dang man your a pimp on that bass. Super funky, and very very cool. That bass sure is a beast! The biggest beast I have in my collection is a 6 string.

  • nice jam ];-D

  • bas bas bas bassssss

  • Bob Babbitt is probably the best musician of the three. Check out "Every Kind of People" by Robert Palmer. This video here is an example of how bass should sound and how it shouldn't.

  • There is no "shouldn't".

Bass is ann instrument and can be played however the mucician intends.

  • Bob Babbitt is the baddest guy there for sure.

  • u dude kick BUTT! rock on man!

    bobthedude54

  • Haha, sheenhans thinkin "Damn, after all these years on only four..."

  • he feels like tappping on that surfboard

  • Well done!!! you're like a guitar god

  • i dont see any guitars buddy

  • that is because the screen said it was Bozmen Bass Bash

  • Bassguitars are guitars too smart*ss.. =) They're different, yes, but they are guitars.

Anyways I really got to do more practice after seeing this.

  • @xcrimsoncorex Anthony Jackson would disagree with you there! Aren't we watching a few guys playing their bass "guitars"?

  • @xcrimsoncorex Pretty big stage.Could be on the far left.

  • greg teaches sheehan!!!!! no he should though he is that good

  • damn nice groove

  • I don't think that bass is big enough!

  • Hahahah I'd like to see 4 guitarists get together and jam out like that.

We are impossible to work with =p

  • How many frets does that thing have?

  • 36 i believe

  • 27 frets

  • That is badass!

  • @dude42493 he has about 34 frets

  • pretty good jam y'all had going. and just looking at your bass gives me CTS...play on!

  • auahauhau

funny see sheehan teaching greg how to make a good use of his bass!

  • LOL, yes he kept asking me to play up high and pointing to the treble end of the neck and the treble strings... then he would match me with harmonics.

    Billy is AMAZING!!!

  • Well done Gregory!!!

  • sweet

  • umm correct me if im wrong but were they jammin on the 12 bar blues?

sounded kinda like that, me and my bass instructor used to do that alot.

  • Oh my god...you're like a guitar god. But with a bass. A 9-FREAKIN STRING bass. WOW.

  • lol sheehan's like "c'mon greg, apply those upper frets!" hehe. cool stuff!
