@CSSPariah.. its still no where near what professional athletes do. In motorcycle racing, your bike is your tool, in football, your body is your tool.
Ha ha... Rossi's sterring lock and Gibernau's Donington Park crash as well eh? Nice! Should hv included the hopeless 125 cc crash also in which a rider went full speed over a crashed bike and flipped mid air.
from 50, the person fall.. and suddenly theres lots of bike coming.. and he quickly run for safety.. and the other bike accidently use his leg to hit his head..
Yeh in a long race...Daytona 200, they'd change tyres, last time I rode at Daytona, I was getting six laps before the tyre started to chunk on the R1 I was riding.
no they have one set for a race, dont have as many laps as nascar all though im sure a tyre change is not unheard of. its all about picking the right tyres for the right tracks and weather conditions. not just that but yea
Tire changes arent even allowed during a race. Only when there's rain, the organisation signals the team that tire changes are allowed. But they don't change the tire, they change the bike. because you cant change tires very fast with the chain on the rear wheel. But when there's no rain, you can have only one set of tires. Thats why someone who takes it easy the first half, can overtake everyone the second half, because their tires are worn out. Its a lot more tactical that way.
I don't understand about the first three laps taking 1 1/2 hours to complete? Thats not even true of nascar? In F1 the exciting mass pileups tend to occur then! Not something that happens in bike racing. Even the crashes in Bike racing are boring, they are always the same! Look at Kubica in the 2006 F1 season, he flew 250m down a road at 150mph.
Pro's race when it rains but they all start on full wets with a rolling start. If it starts raining during a race they stop the race and depending on how many laps they've done they either restart the race on wet tyres or finish the race 1 lap before it rained.
Yup, a very long train in which the finishing positions are decided during qualifying and the first 3 laps of the race that take's 1 1/2 hour, yeah, that's fun.....
I think you are mistaking that with nascar? F1 one is extremely exciting! F1 hits speeds of way over 170mph in the rain, so that argument is invalid! F1 cars would pwn any bike round a track! Four wheels are better than two!
@momo69bikes As much as I would like your comment I have to remind you that in football the player is everything. He is exerting every muscle of his body to perform any action, whereas with riding the bike does all the hard work. I agree that it takes a lot of courage to ride after an injury, but it's no way as painful as playing football.
@momo69bikes I cannot remember the football but he played in the World Cup Final(I think) with a broken wrist, a lot of footballers play with injuries. It's the blatent cheaters and puffs such as Christiano Ronaldo that gives football a bad name.
It has to be said that I respect MotoGP/Superbike riders more than the players of any other sport simply because they have crashes like these and they're back in the saddle again as soon as possible, even racing with broken wrists or ankles - you wouldn't get that in football now, would you?
@HelC001 This is a sport where it is man and machine. Man can get all kinds of plus affects using machines. In football, its man and his team and their skills. There is no teamwork in this gay ass bike racing. And football players get pummeled every game and you say they dont take damage and keep on getting on... Pfft. a bike racer takes one fall in a blue moon and you act like its an every lap occurance. Football... being physical is on every down fool.
@Runkleforskin Ah, you've misunderstood me. You're American, hence to you football = American football, a sport I quite enjoy and respect the players. I'm English, so what I call football, you call soccer (which is largely a bunch of fancy-haired pansies falling over and crying every time someone goes near their hair). I have to disagree about the teamwork, maybe on track there is not so much teamwork, but there is no denying that in motorsport there is a huge amount of teamwork off the track.
@Runkleforskin actually they generally go down at least once a circuit if you actually watched motogp. they start running laps the friday morning before a sunday afternoon race. and physical?? lets see if you can keep the body position at 100+ mph for 40+ minutes. some football players might, but largely soccer and basketball players can and that is about it
@CSSPariah.. its still no where near what professional athletes do. In motorcycle racing, your bike is your tool, in football, your body is your tool.
