@jeffreybiderpdee - in the comics Captain AMerica fell into the sea while on a mission and was presumed dead. He was the for quite a few years before he was found and restored, becoming a member of the avengers.

as for Stark having Caps shield, I don't know, but I'm assuming that Cap will eventually receive his new shield from Stark in the Cap movie.

@nendo @nendo I'm not sure to be honest, I don't know a lot about the Iron Man or Cap comics so not sure what route the films are taking, but it could be that, in the films, Howard Stark is involved with the super soldier formula (mentioned by Thunderbolt Ross in the incredible hulk) and created the shield that way.

Although, to throw a spanner in the works, in the comics Caps original shield was a different shape, he got the round one when he was unfrozen. We'll see.

Vanlocke, You're wrong about a couple of things there.Originally, Banner was suppose to meet Captain America there,but instead,he went there to shoot Caps frozen body.if you didn't notice, Banner never pointed the gun at himself, he held it straight. Also Cap wasn't frozen with his shield,because Stark has it.They're going to revive Cap and the Avengers will go after the Hulk

And actually, yes it is Captain America. because i have all the comics that explains this part of the movie.Captain america was frozen on ice and he was later revived to join the Avenger team to go after the Hulk. Now his shield in my other comic that i have shows tony stark repairing it, which was briefly shown in the ironman movie. Tony fixes the shield and then Cap was revived.Wolverine was responsible for the death of cap

i don't know if anyone noticed it but Captain America is talked about twice in the Incredible Hulk movie. First when the general is telling Palanski about the super soldier project created during WW2 and second in the end of the movie Tony Stark makes reference to it again when he says, "there's a reason that the super soldier project was put on ice" I.E. seeing him in the block of ice in this clip. They should of left this clip in the movie. or at least had it in a directors cut or something.

Watch the The Hulk movie and listen to when General Ross is talking to Blonsky about the WWII Super Soldier program and how they were working on bio-technology. It's a direct reference to Captain America and his origin....that's an easter egg. This alternate opening is a blatant spit in the face to those who can't read between the lines.
