Music was more diverse – so many talented people who were allowed to do what they do, not over-packaged, over-produced and over-controlled singers like today. There are a few singers who could transcend the current pap: Alicia Keys (she tries to stay true, but even she gets sucked into hip hop which is made by people with very little, or in the case of wrap absolutely no musical talent.
