imho, it was a great episode the RTD vomited out of his brain. considering that i still have vile on some his works much more in the end of his era. it was the lady gaga episode. even if you like it or not you'll still want to watch it again.
This isn't a favourite of mine, but I appreciate it and there are some moments to enjoy from it. The regulars are both fantastic, Cassandra is actually one of my favourite RTD creations and the effects are well represented. Unfortunately, the various aliens are rather forgetabble (Face of Boe included, who I never really liked) and Toxic getting in irritates me, though I didn't mind Tainted Love as much. Only a 4/10 I'm afraid.
Still, I consider The Unquiet Dead an underrated classic.
Ha, Voodoo Child and I Can't Decide in Doctor Who, that's funny. That's as likely as I don't know the Daleks and the Time Lords showing up again after they all died in the Time War.
Brilliant review . I think zoe is better know for playing Susan in My Family . I loved the relatioship between Jabe and the Doctor pitty she died . I actally like the extra alians on Platform 1 . Brilliant video mate .
I personally really enjoyed this episode. Probably because of the "Who exactly IS this Doctor person anyway?" plot points. I certainly remember being a bit shocked that The Doctor wouldn't do anything to prevent the end of the world at first.
Also, I guess I must have been the only 12 year old that didn't work out that Cassandra was the villain. I was too busy boogie-ing to 'Tainted Love' to think about stuff like that :D
brillant review always ove your reviews i like the diting of the spoder when the doctor says mox of ballhoon now that would have been an intresting plot twist that no one would have seen
when the next review the unquite dead out ? do u have a routh date of when it is
@WhovianWars Now i have a firm grasp on my timetable for Uni i can easily organize when i will make my reviews. I will write it today, film it over the weekend and maybe have it up mid-next week. No promises though =)
Thanks for the support. I remember reading about this episode in my television guide and it actually said that the Moxx of Balhoon was the villain (no joke) So throughout the episode i was waiting for him to be evil, but it never happened, haha
I agree with you on many of the points you made but I think the badly made aliens are forgiveable considering the fact that the bbc spent it budget on the effects and important stuff first. I also think that the scene when the doctor walks though the blades was really long and dragged on a lot. But one think I will say is that Doctor Who needs more alien-y episodes like this one. (also do you agree that it would be cool to have an alien assistant?)
I dunno, I've always understood Rose's anger towards Cassandra there. Imagine traveling that far into the future, expecting to see your descendants having evolved into this mighty space-conquering gods - and the only remaining human is just the epitome of man-kinds obsession with how we look, not to mention our inherit racism. That's pretty depressing.
@RoseNoir90 I understand that, but it was the way she came across. She seemed to treat the title of "Last Human" as a competition by saying that she is "officially the last human being in this room".
@MrTARDISreviews I get that too. I would say it's just down to poor directing with the scene but Rose is quite bolshy and arrogant as a character. Though I agree that her chat with the servant is quite nice and interesting how she can't connect with the 'great and rich' aliens in the party but does easily with another working-class being. Also first mention we get about her dad but *steals the TARDIS for a sec*....that's done better in the next episode. XD
what about that song at the start the "get away" song. I love that song,i hate toxic too!

toxic isn't modern anymore, but till the world ends is more appropriate don't you think, if it was out at this time...

07:31 WAIT A SEC! Look to the right; that's Cassandra! Wasn't she already dead by this point in the story?!
Ereldor 1 year ago
@Ereldor Nope, at that point they were trying to figure out who murdered the steward. She was very much alive at that point.

You are now officially my new favourite Dr Who reviewer!
You've pretty much summed up what a frustratingly inconsistent story it was (it even gave me a sinking feeling about the new series at the time)

I think I fully agree with this review, but in my opinion, any flaw that Rose has can be forgiven . . . because she's hot.

I loved this episode personally, it was great for introducing us to many mysterious aspects to The Doctor's character if one is a first time viewer.
