  • @jmcangas Do we know what characteristics define Celtic music of about the 16th century? I would be pleased to learn.

  • Amazing stuff! A very beautiful interpretation. Who sings on this recording?

Axa, Fátima y Marién: Axa, primeira mulher do Profeta. Marién, María, no castelhano moderno.

  • This is actually a sefardic (Jewish) ladino song about 3 moorish girls from Jaen: Asha, Fatima and Marianne.

  • @HappyRick It's not Jewish, it's Christian. If you listen to the words..."Cristianas queramos moras en Jaen Axa Fatima y Marienne..."

  • @HappyRick @violatione

Aisha and Fatima are Muslim names. Although a Muslim princess by the name of Fatima became the revered Catholic Saint, Santa Fatima. My point is. This is Mudejer music. Post-Arabo-Islamic-Sephardic Andalucía. So it's probably Christian from the era of los reyos catolicos. Nonetheless, in Arabo-Islamic as well as early Mudejer Andalucía, you cannot really draw the line between what is Islamic, what is Jewish and what is Christian. Hence, the beauty of Andalucía we forget.

  • I fail to hear the Celtic influence here. Just because the harmonies are ancient, because this is late medieval music, it isn't necessary Celtic, withh all due respect to the beautiful Celtic music.

  • @Javandy No, nothing Celtic here.

  • Excellent song...you can hear a nice chant with Celtic influence...wow. Been studying this for years.

  • Buenisimoooo!!!!! fantastisch!!!!! Excellent!!! me encantó!!!

  • Very beautiful!

    Favorited.

  • Excellent song ! WoW !

  • Best implementation of this song
