  • I've heard all three versions of this song, and love them all. This is the only song I can think of that's so perfect that you couldn't mess it up if you tried.

  • So so 4 ever Dig This song

  • Love it! So Beautiful...The Lady & the Song...

  • Excellent Record! She has an excellent video for the notes..... I just been looping the record.

  • Whatever happened to the classic soul and R&B channels? Used to be FM stations that played some quality stuff like this, now you've got to have a satellite hook up and loop around or some such nonsense. Sorry, showing my age.

  • SON-OF-GUN; JUST MADE IT!!! In 1982 "It's Gonna Take A Miracle" peaked at No. 10 thus just making the Billboard's Top 10 and spent a total of 17 weeks in the Top 100...

The Royalettes' version in 1965 was the original, it reached No. 41, Laura Nyro also covered it, and then by the Manhattan Transfer in 1994 with Bette Midler singing lead...

  • this was sung in1982 but I love it just like it was yesterday

  • As close to perfection as a song can be

  • *THE

  • magnifica la interpretacion de esta cancion Deniece Williams

  • @JessNicSink , Say it!

  • @JessNicSink word

  • @JessNicSink Guess it became too difficult.

  • @JessNicSink Adele

  • @mangarda haaha thats everybodys answer. she can sing but she is slightly overrated

  • @mjjcng8958 Oh I didn't say I liked her...I don't really like her....I'm just saying she doesn't use her body to sell albums cause JessNicSink said everybody does

  • @mangarda sorry lol you are right though

  • @JessNicSink It is unfortunate the voice gets lost nowadays

  • @JessNicSink ---BECAUSE WE DA PUBLIC ARE PUTTING UP WITH IT...IF A FLUFFY WOMAN CAME OUT WITH THIS VOICE IT WOULD BE HER BODY AND NOT HER TALENT THAT WE WOULD BE LOOKIN AT...,,,SHAME ON DA MUSIC INDUSTRY AND SHAME ON US......

  • @buttacudawey yeah true i am 25 and i am sad to say this generation of music sucks at times

  • @JessNicSink The record labels think people don't want to hear music like this no more.

  • That voice, I hear that voice in my dreams...

  • Well, this was one of the best songs that I heard in my first year as a listener of the FM radio stations here in Brazil in 1982. For me, this was one of the good times of the music.

  • oh i love this that voice

  • The year 1982 it was the year of the music! Just look Billboard Top 100 Hits list.

  • This has 1982 written all over it. My heart aches as I type this..

  • love dat lady

  • Deniece Williams: You and your beautiful nature and talent is a blessing just knowing your story. That your sang what you lived is a testament in and of itself of your early ministry in gathering the following you yet have today.

Thank You - for your ongoing contribution to the sometimes difficult music industry!

  • been looking all over for this! thx for the post!!

  • When you think of the three essential versions of this song (Deniece, Laua, Royalettes), the amazing thing is that they are all great. Each version helps to define the era in which they were recorded.

  • She is so wonderful! I have always loved her. This one of my favorites by her, although it is hard to choose! Thank you for posting this- it brought back a lot of great memories.

  • This is one 'cover' that did just so much justice to the beautiful original to the point where one could say "Niecy" just "Killed it" as kolense says...

"Niecy" and the backup band and other singers just make this version a 'Beautiful' version, also...

    Than(x) for the Post!!

  • sounds like something from the Motown era huh?

  • Produced by Thom Bell.

  • Great song and Niecy did it really well. One of my favorites of her recordings.

  • Such a beautiful song by Deniece Williams. I wonder if she still performs and records. Thank you for posting this. Her voice is absolutely breath - taking - just magnificent.

  • @50s60steenidols lovely rendition, but actually Laura Nyro wrote this song, along with many other hits that were then sung by other singers. worth checking out the rest of her music :)

  • @Purl82 - You are incorrect. Although I might have been inclined to agree, it was written by Teddie Randazzo, Bobby Weinstein, and Lou Stallman.

  • takes me back when a was in love with my high school sweetheart wow love this song

  • classy...

  • Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo beeeeautiful Miss Deniece. ugh

  • love this song.

  • lovely song, so sweet to my ears

  • THIS IS A NICE SONG! I LOVE HER VOICE! SHE HAD REALLY NICE SONGS IN THE 80'S!

  • It was my favorite song when I was like 7 years old. Although I was very young something about her voice I felt her sadness and sincerity even if I hadn't experienced the type of love she was talking about.

  • me an my mom was sing'N this 2 this song in car. Love you mom. :)

  • me an my mom was sing'N this in the song in car. Love you mom. :)

  • love this song....

  • June Deniece hit #10 in Billboard, 6-12-82. God bless ya, sister Niecy! Thanx, Palmbeach, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • this is a remake of a girl group song!! amazing all the while

  • This song is so sad to me.

  • nothing like sweet soul music

  • what a walk down memory lane.

  • I think they played this in one of Michael Jackson's movies where the parents met for the first time.

  • not the original

  • I remember my mom having this album, she played it all the time, this song and Waiting. 1982 seems like yesterday to me at times. Saw the Unsung special on Deniece Williams. great show!

  • great song brings back memories

  • its gonna take miracle to live in the golden days again!!!!!!

  • I just realized the Niecy rearranged some of the words to this song...lol That was cute.

  • It['s so many songs of hers I know but didn't know she sung them

  • I remember hearing this song at night on quiet storm, while sleeping, because my grandma always had quiet storm station playing and never knew it was Deniece Williams until I watched Unsung, love this song

  • Havent heard the original version but I love this song and Neicey she can sing a 5 octave range is insane

  • Very distinctive vocals. And she actually sang instead of yelling.

  • @SpazChat you ain't never lied! Just because you can yell, does not mean you can sang!

  • THIS SONG REMIND OF MY MOM AND DAD.RIP DAD

  • One magnificent Thom Bell Philly Man arrrangement of a good song for a Chigago Lady.

  • I love this song, but the tough part is, it reminds me of a woman I broke up with and probably would have married.

  • This song brings me waaaay back luv it!

  • Deniece williams' voice is a miracle.

  • June 6,2011; if the date doesn't changed TV One's Unsung will do an episode on Deniece Williams.

  • what a great classic, I have this on a '45.....played it endlessly.....thanks so much for posting it!!

  • Thank you, Teddy Randazzo, "The Italian Bacharach" for this great song!

  • Probably one of the more successful covers of a Doo-Wop era cut. The balance here with Deneice Williams and her male backgrounds is absolutely superb. And I absolutely love this cut!

  • Did not know this was a remake, she did good:)

  • Shimmering vibrato. An almost trembling effect. Wow, what a fabulous voice. She enunciates each word with such artistry. There is an everlasting quality of monumental greatness to this song.

  • Its not easy, never easy and will never be easy to start over, but while thinking about it... This one tells the tale

  • Billboard's #71 song of '82. Deniece hit #1 soul, #6 AC, #10, pop, in Bilboard. Born June Deniece Chandler. Wonder where she got the 'Williams' from. Anybody know? Please get back to me on it. God bless ya, Miss Deniece!

  • @DaveWollenberg watch unsung she was married to a man with the last name williams

  • .....tanto tempo e reecontrei a aqui !! otima musica numa grande voz.

  • Jay I miss u soo much!!!! :(

  • good but cant nobody do it like laura nyro im sorry she had that certain flow to it..

  • amo essa cançao emuito linda como doi essa lembrança.

  • The Royalettes did a nice version, too, granted, but Deniece Williams has a voice that's second to none. This is a much better version of the song, in my opinion.

  • Nice remake Denise. But these plantive lyrics, reaching out, originated in Baltimore, courtesy of those lovely angels, the Royalettes. No tekkie assistance....just pure voices. But Williams has a nice version. But props, please.

  • While the original song from the 1960s was a nice ballad, this version by Denise Williams blows it away, hands down!A mesmerizingly beautiful song as only Denise Williams can do it!She was THE perfect choice to redo it from way back in 1982!

  • This music is marvellous! Taking me to an unforgetable rapsody mood music...

A time to remember some special moments. As the time goes by... we dream sometimes!

Thanks for sharing this nice version!

  • I love this song.....

  • IT'S GONNA TAKE A MIRACLE TO MAKE ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL SONG LIKE THIS

  • VH1 needs to do a behind the music on Denise Williams - she is by far one of the best yet underrated singers of all time!

  • @AstralBooBaby I agree and she was an outstanding song writer and produced too. As an example, Diana Ross, good in her own right and much more famous, but could not old a candle to this complete artist.

  • The tempo, the "kept-time" is just utter perfection. It's a completely flawless happening. Her vocal delivery of the lyrics is fabulous perfection. Every single vowel and consonant is perfectly sung; perfectly "placed". Rare, monumental recording. Deniece W. did the amazing ultimate when she sang this (this session) - THIS is among the greatest recordings of all time.

  • I love this song it takes me back when i was in Greenwood Mississippi when I came home from school my friends and i use to dance to this song... i will always love this song... FOREVER AND EVER...

  • Georgeous, sunny afternoon in the city melody, just as it is right now here in Los Angeles.

  • Thanks for posting. Please check out my page with me singing. Leave a message, if you like what you hear. Peace to you and your family, Omora

  • Linda Musica amooo s2

  • One of the best oldies of all time! Denise is a true songstress.

  • Deniece did a fantastic job on this song... But the origins of this song came from the Royalettes who brought it life!

  • Beautiful song and voice..........

  • Melancholy, depressed, sad, and I enjoy every second of this beautiful song

  • This song takes me way back to the simple times

  • One of my all time favorite vocals!! You can just feel the sincerity and hurt in all her songs!!

  • i want a jellybean...

  • Classic!!!

  • I thought this song reminded me a little bit of the Stylistics' "You Make Me Feel Brand New". Turns out that both this and that song were arranged by Thom Bell, and there's no mistaking his trademark harmonies here, either.

  • niecy has at least 10 songs that are my favorites, but this one is my favorite since i know most of the words to the song. the words to this song are very effective in keeping the one you love.

  • which artiste sang the song with chorus ending "dont make a fool of me"?

  • The song is "Silly" by Deniece Williams.

  • she is one of the best singers with songs that past the test of time
