wow you work so efficiently without any wasted energy on mistakes, your good at your work i think i would never be able to do pottery better than you.
It's normal to think like that scapenite but remember: it is important to constantly and respectfully attempt to be better than Mr. Leach. Only then will he be a successful teacher.
How fun and wonderful for you Simon! To find a kindred spirit from an old land in your time! As soon as this next Fine Arts Show/ Sale, March 1st & 2nd, is over I'd like to give jewel boxs a go! I sold two pots today hoooray! The first since Christmas. Actually my husband sold them to a co-worker through a cataloge I made up. It's tough around here a low income area, not much call for my type of pottery! Thank you "Deb-ra-Ray"
Here in Sifnos they still have the old double stored wood firing kilns and some of them are actually working. The studio I am at, is 4 generations old and they still have the grandfather's kick wheel.
I am learning a lot from you. Thank you for being there!
Astrid is my motorcycle. Aggeliki is my name and I am half Greek half German. And I am surely not a potter yet.:-( Hope I will become one though. It is my dream and I have left everything behind to follow it.
You are most welcome to actually come to Sifnos. It is in the Cyclades. Next to Serifos and Milos. Check it out in the web.
Thank you for your prompt reply. Actually I am still watching your videos right now. I am surely staying tuned!
Gavdos huh? It must have been you, you, you and two fishermen?? Built your own wheel and kiln! It must have been realy nice times back in 78, everything pure and tough.
I have been throwing for the past 6 months. I left my business carrier and took up pottery, which I love. I live in a small Greek island called Sifnos, which has tradition in pottery and I am trying to learn with the masters here and by reading a lot. Since I found your lessons in youtube, I have learned so many tips!Thank you so much for sharing your knowlede with us. I really appreciate it.And I think you must be a very cheerfull person! A feast for the eyes to watch you throwing!
Hi -I lived on a greek island in 1978 and made pots .built a wheel & kiln ...i was learning. Gavdos was the island, to the south of Creta..the most southerly point in Europe.
Excellent project, seems simple to do. I hope to increase my annual income by 10000 to 15000 canadian dollars per year(my new mantra is 'fun money is useful and good') thru pottery and fall christmas craft fairs, this project will help.
Tony Clenell a canadian potter suggests forming the gallery before the final forming pull of your pot.
What is the subject matter of your cd/dvd? I may want it this year if it is formatted for North American equipment, how much, etc?
Great angle on how to pick 'him' off the wheel.
