Ground zero was smouldering until December of 2001. jet fuel, most of which exploded outside the buildings, burns very rapidly. And planes havn't changed much since the 70's, if anything they're made of weaker/lighter materials. The fact that there are extremists in every religion should raise the question why they put the term "Muslim" in front of "extremists". Religion doesn't matter.

They believe in Jesus Christ, they believe he was a prophet or something, just not the son of god. Love every entity in the world even if they do not love you, that is the true word of Jesus. But forcing a religion on our most sacred ground of tragedy is a sensitive subject. it is being built two blocks away on the site of an old burlington coat factory. so the "mosque" (which really isnt a mosque) should be called the "burlington coat factory mosque"

Basically what drives us is to seek justice to right how we were wronged. To them life does not matter only allah and herself. They do not care about justice or at least how we perceive it. Truthfully I do not care one way or the other about them enough to hate. All I know is that their culture and ours clash hardcore. what we consider a loss they consider gain. what we consider glorious they consider shame. Don't you know that Islam is a culture of symbolism? Or that their attack on their WT was an attack on what they believed was a symbol of western power? To them symbols are liken to god or allah him or herself. Mecca the rock etc, and they will suicide bomb themselves to oblivion to protect that. To us the stars and stripes, Eagle, Gettysburg, pearl harbor and now 9/11 are symbols of our strength to persevere.
In short, building a mosque is a major victory to them and a major moral slam to us.
