I use a phantom(not stock class) or an automag rt. I have borrowed an ego from a friend and it just killed the game. no one even wanted to shoot at me. your not showing off any skills playin against kids with a rental gun when you have $1000+ paintball gun. The problem with all the new players is that they don't get a starter gun. their first gun is $600+. the only thing they learn about paintball is how much paint their gun can sling compared to everyone elses.

Im 13 and i love the autocockers :) I have 3 of them! Trilogy converted to a Pump, Black magic cocker and a superstock! I mean the old guns are the coolest! I own a Proto rail for my tournaments but its never fun to blow paint when your just playing for fun! Pump and mechanical make it the best!

I play with an older gun than the converted Auto-Cocker, its a Sheridan kp2 pump converted to semi auto. The first gravity feed semi auto. It's called the "Hurricane" its a dinosaur but a tank of a gun. @ 20 yrs old but shoots awsome. And it will stil be @ in 20 more years.

Some players forget that without PE original eblade system, you wouldn't have your fancy geos. egos, CSL's. hell, im 16 and own a black magic, karni, 68 mag, and prostock and have nothing but mad respect for those pieces of history. ive played speed ball for 2 rounds maybe a total of 20 minutes and will never play it again because of the players. i found it boring and even without it being boring still didnt enjoy it. and thats mostly because of the retards who were playing and the retards ive seen out on the woodsball fields.
Its sad to see 40 year old guys have a blast going all out on 10 year olds and scarring them away for ever. I agree that they should take it down a notch and pick up one of these guns and have fun playing the sport not trying to be the guy that gets the most outs or hits the most kids with a stream but try to challenge them selves and use a gun like these.
I'm 15 and have been playing for about 2 years now and I love my autococker. I have a Dye DM11, Intimadator, and alot more. Even tho I have high tech guns I love using my autococker. It is gitting expensive and alot of more :experianced" players go off on me when I get them out using an older gun and they are using $1500+ guns. It's those reasons why this sport is dieing slowly. No one want to help people anymore, everyone wants to be the best. It's very sad to me. :(

I had a 99 autococker I had all milled out and anodized totally custom ever part except the body block I started with. It was stolen at a tournament in Fort Myers back around 2000-2001 killed it for me! Didn't go back to paintball after that but im getting back in now. It is such a great time I just wish i had that autococker back. I'm using e-guns now which is nice but nothing like a classic...
I am new to paintball due to my nephew and you are so right. I love the classic guns like the auto cockers. I picked a new Tippmann A5 with electronic trigger and have added two old Spyders. The Spyders a blast to shoot, quiet and not as scary as my A5 when playing with new players.
im only 17 but i always gawk over these markers. I love them and usually the guy is nice enough to let me shoot it and those guns are make me wish i was able to play back in the day
I found an RT online recently, bought it. I seem to be having issues with balls rolling out the barrel and chops. Other then that it shoots great. I'm guessing its a feed issue, is there anything comon with that?
i love paintball and i dont rip on new players or try not to. The only thing that upsets me is when a 13 year old kid comes to the field with a brand new ego and they go through two cases of paint an hour. and they sit in the back rippin there trigger then when a paintball comes in there direction call themselves out. and they make fun of me for using a pump because its not fast enough. but other than that i love new players because theyre interested in the sport.
its funny with him talking about kids becuase today i went out to a byop where its uncapped semi and 13bps ramp. Some dad decided to bring his son and friends out for a birthday party. I was on their team playing against some younger kids who were spoiled rotten shooting 3 pods in a 2 minute game of xball never taking their finger off the trigger. So for fun i but my droid on uncappped semi and took everyone of them out off the break and left the 10 year old kid run the flag in.

One thing - Mags are still in production, the Tac One and RT ULE are still for sale at the AGD website. Paintball Charleston has some beautiful custom RT ULE's for sale on a consistent basis as well.
I just tricked out a spyder victor to shoot lp and i use the 13 cu in tank and a 50 rd hopper because i realized i missed those older early 2000's blowbacks. it's no 69 GTO or Camaro, but it's nice to play with a gold old semi auto gun again.
i feel u mike im 13 and i have full respect for older guns and newer guns and i understand what u mean by using a a older gun or mech against newer players but i have a suggestion for players that cant find or afford guns like that just try and gain a lot of trigger controll or cap ur gun
Cockers are nice for their historical value. They make great mechs but just about every gun out there is a better option for tournament play. I respect E-Cockers but they do not shoot ropes by any means.

HaHa nice, that was surprisingly forward at the beginning but I guess it takes the words out of my mouth. I started 14 yrs old with a tracer (pump), then over a few years built the baddest pro-lite (mean trigger job). I always drooled over the cockers, I finally bought one a few years ago (Blue 2004 Prostock). I love to play woods ball with it and tag these punks, it gets peoples attention. Actions speak louder than words, like that sound of the back block.
I am 17 and hgave been playing for about 7 years and I am 100% agreed with you. I have a cocker, eblade and an Automag RT ULE and i will never go back to all of the crap that the companies are putting out, and i am always telling people to go easy on the younger kids because if not then they will not comeback. I would choose an eblade cocker over ANY gun for sale. when i see an old cocker, my eyes water a little, and whenm i hear some kid talking trash, it makes me absolutly sick, and im only 17
the autococker is an awesome gun in wodball is very smooth and quiet. in the field I play 3 people have it hte best thing for me of the gun is the slashing sound

I have always loved Auto mags and auto cockers. I’ve been playing on and off since the late 80's early 90's and I defiantly agree with you about the direction that paintball has gone... I played with my e-mag several months ago, and I found that there were some kids that thought it was cool, and others had no clue what it was:(
honestly the faster the guns got the worse play was, i mean when everyone is shooting an ego at a rec game, it turns into a scrimmage with kids who are just trying to have fun. When I started in 02 my brother gave me a pump and I showed up at RNT in florida i bought one bag and people where EXTREMELY friendly as to showing the ropes. Now if you dont look experienced or dont have a good gun people just dont bother with you, they dont see potential they see a target that would quit in a heartbeat
I'm 19, playing in my 2nd year of paintball and rocking an Autococker Trilogy Sport with a pump kit. Most fun marker I own. I've upgraded from a Sypder Xtra and I love my Autococker. Bought it brand new from my local paintball retail store
i wish there was people like you at my field mike. all the older people that play at my field are douche bags wit there geos or what ever shredding on new players nd its just not fair.and the field i go to refuses to have an intermediate games the games are either rental guns or any gun on the marker and when rentals want to try they are dicks and dont care about them.
The Autococker was my first real gun, it was my upgrade from the Brass Eagle pump I still have both. Also mike I like how you didn't quit playing ;) I thought the same when my daughter was born, I just took time off. When I play with new kids I usually pull two or three to the side take there rentals and let them use my high end guns (ego, luxe, mini) I use the rental, I also never bash kids if a ref yells at a kid I yell at the ref. Me and My Wife call it "Couples Therapy", we play every wkend.

You get these kids with fully auto markers and they think they can play paintball. My 3 year old nephew can hold down the trigger of a fully auto marker. That doesn't mean he is a good player. I agree with Mike. I'm 32 and I have played paintball less and less over the years because the so called future of our sport are the same ones killing it with their spray and pray mentallity. Shooting 200 rounds a game or 20bps doesn't make you a great player.

@uk2008uk Check ebay...I found a "99" for $75.00..It came with a hinge trigger and a stock barrel and 3 way but for the price it was worth it.....sometimes you luck out. If you have a local store that carries parts or you can get parts online...I would give it a look....they can get pretty expensive though. I have a 2000 vertical feed that I bought back then when parts were at their highest...I put over $800 into it. You can get the same marker for half that price... CHECK EBAY!

@TOXICSNIPERSpbteam Whatever works.....here in N.Y. there aren't to many fields that let you bring your own paint. They have cheap admission fee's but they kill you on a case of paint. Anywhere from $80 to $100 for a case when I can go to my local shop and get a case for $40-$60.
hmm i remember my first day on the x ball field.. I got fucking LIT up by a mini and an UL slg.. Thank god i didnt give up because I couldnt live without this sport.
@jdogame12 I had a similar experience. Except that I was cowering behind a dorito and got destroyed by a SL8R... When I left the field that day I promised myself I'd get as good as they were. Now I operate a Mini, and every opportunity I get, I let the younger players shoot it at the chrono range, with maxed out ramping, they absolutely love it and immediately tell their parents they want an electro/want to play more often etc.
@jdogame12 CONT. I also suggest going out there and getting a MilSim style marker, not a big expensive one, Tippmann's Project Salvo is perfect at $150, it's pre-pimped and looks utterly badass. It impresses the newer players, hell, even let them play a few games with it.
I just got back into paintball and picked up an SLG UL.The last gun i had was a Spyder SE. I played at a field rite after i bought it and didnt change any settings... I couldnt wait to go back and put it on ramping and just watch the ropes go. Now that ive watched this im keeping it in semi and just going to have a blast and try to make it enjoyable for everyone.. Paintball is a great great great sport and it needs to grow again!
I have played for over 20 years now and have started over 100 people to the sport. My two guns are an Autococker and Automag. I only go out to areas where I have complete control of the game. My rules are simple...You get 100 paintballs per game. That's it! Totally changes the dynamic of the game and gives younger players with slower guns a better chance.
I agree....I play on private property and we usually play one hopper per game. It does even things up a lot and really makes you work for you're kills. Way more strategy involved and it doesn't scare away the new players...
I've been playing for 13yrs, everything from local tourneys to X-Ball and super 7, and I've used every gun under the sun. When I play now it is just for fun (havent played a tourney for about 4 yrs now) and I typically use an autococker or my beloved tippmann prolite. It is a different game, and it makes you think again when you cannot hide behind your stream of paint.
I still have my Automag RT, it was heavy as hell but next to my shocker I have never loved a gun more. Any little 15 or 16 year old bitch that talks shit about either of those 2 guns needs to eat a dick!
Autocockers are simply amazing. I haven't played with anything but an autococker since 8 years ago. If you have been playing as long as I have, using an autococker is amazing. New players tend to be quite annoying.

I'm 15 and have been playing for about 2 years now and I love my autococker. I have a Dye DM11, Intimadator, and alot more. Even tho I have high tech guns I love using my autococker. It is gitting expensive and alot of more :experianced" players go off on me when I get them out using an older gun and they are using $1500+ guns. It's those reasons why this sport is dieing slowly. No one want to help people anymore, everyone wants to be the best. It's very sad to me. :(

I had a 99 autococker I had all milled out and anodized totally custom ever part except the body block I started with. It was stolen at a tournament in Fort Myers back around 2000-2001 killed it for me! Didn't go back to paintball after that but im getting back in now. It is such a great time I just wish i had that autococker back. I'm using e-guns now which is nice but nothing like a classic...

I am new to paintball due to my nephew and you are so right. I love the classic guns like the auto cockers. I picked a new Tippmann A5 with electronic trigger and have added two old Spyders. The Spyders a blast to shoot, quiet and not as scary as my A5 when playing with new players.

I found an RT online recently, bought it. I seem to be having issues with balls rolling out the barrel and chops. Other then that it shoots great. I'm guessing its a feed issue, is there anything comon with that?

i love paintball and i dont rip on new players or try not to. The only thing that upsets me is when a 13 year old kid comes to the field with a brand new ego and they go through two cases of paint an hour. and they sit in the back rippin there trigger then when a paintball comes in there direction call themselves out. and they make fun of me for using a pump because its not fast enough. but other than that i love new players because theyre interested in the sport.

its funny with him talking about kids becuase today i went out to a byop where its uncapped semi and 13bps ramp. Some dad decided to bring his son and friends out for a birthday party. I was on their team playing against some younger kids who were spoiled rotten shooting 3 pods in a 2 minute game of xball never taking their finger off the trigger. So for fun i but my droid on uncappped semi and took everyone of them out off the break and left the 10 year old kid run the flag in.

I just tricked out a spyder victor to shoot lp and i use the 13 cu in tank and a 50 rd hopper because i realized i missed those older early 2000's blowbacks. it's no 69 GTO or Camaro, but it's nice to play with a gold old semi auto gun again.

Cockers are nice for their historical value. They make great mechs but just about every gun out there is a better option for tournament play. I respect E-Cockers but they do not shoot ropes by any means.

HaHa nice, that was surprisingly forward at the beginning but I guess it takes the words out of my mouth. I started 14 yrs old with a tracer (pump), then over a few years built the baddest pro-lite (mean trigger job). I always drooled over the cockers, I finally bought one a few years ago (Blue 2004 Prostock). I love to play woods ball with it and tag these punks, it gets peoples attention. Actions speak louder than words, like that sound of the back block.

I am 17 and hgave been playing for about 7 years and I am 100% agreed with you. I have a cocker, eblade and an Automag RT ULE and i will never go back to all of the crap that the companies are putting out, and i am always telling people to go easy on the younger kids because if not then they will not comeback. I would choose an eblade cocker over ANY gun for sale. when i see an old cocker, my eyes water a little, and whenm i hear some kid talking trash, it makes me absolutly sick, and im only 17

He thanked me and I said to him, pointing to my e-mag, "do you know that without this gun your gun would probably not exist." He said "that isn’t the same as my gun?" I said I know but without this gun your gun would not exist. He just looked at me with glazed eyes... I walked away... if you don’t know your past you don’t know your future. Mike, I have been watching your videos for years. They are always informative and accurate. I especially liked your nostalgic video on autocockers and automags. I have always loved Auto mags and auto cockers. I’ve been playing on and off since the late 80's early 90's and I defiantly agree with you about the direction that paintball has gone... I played with my e-mag several months ago, and I found that there were some kids that thought it was cool, and others had no clue what it was:(

honestly the faster the guns got the worse play was, i mean when everyone is shooting an ego at a rec game, it turns into a scrimmage with kids who are just trying to have fun. When I started in 02 my brother gave me a pump and I showed up at RNT in florida i bought one bag and people where EXTREMELY friendly as to showing the ropes. Now if you dont look experienced or dont have a good gun people just dont bother with you, they dont see potential they see a target that would quit in a heartbeat

The Autococker was my first real gun, it was my upgrade from the Brass Eagle pump I still have both. Also mike I like how you didn't quit playing ;) I thought the same when my daughter was born, I just took time off. When I play with new kids I usually pull two or three to the side take there rentals and let them use my high end guns (ego, luxe, mini) I use the rental, I also never bash kids if a ref yells at a kid I yell at the ref. Me and My Wife call it "Couples Therapy", we play every wkend.

The Autococker was my first real gun, I upgraded from my Brass Eagle ;) to the Autococker. I still have both guns I love the sound the autococker makes when shot. Sometimes me and my wife take them out and play with them, prefer them over my luxe and mini to be honest.

I miss the days of going to a field and the only guys shooting 15+ bps were the vets who welcomed everybody in and showed you the ropes. soon after youd by something like a spyder compact and play with that for a few years in the woods. Now every little shithead on the planet has a 2011 Ego and is automatically on the xball field. The fun and excitement for the new players just isnt there anymore.

You get these kids with fully auto markers and they think they can play paintball. My 3 year old nephew can hold down the trigger of a fully auto marker. That doesn't mean he is a good player. I agree with Mike. I'm 32 and I have played paintball less and less over the years because the so called future of our sport are the same ones killing it with their spray and pray mentallity. Shooting 200 rounds a game or 20bps doesn't make you a great player.

@uk2008uk Check ebay...I found a "99" for $75.00..It came with a hinge trigger and a stock barrel and 3 way but for the price it was worth it.....sometimes you luck out. If you have a local store that carries parts or you can get parts online...I would give it a look....they can get pretty expensive though. I have a 2000 vertical feed that I bought back then when parts were at their highest...I put over $800 into it. You can get the same marker for half that price... CHECK EBAY!

@TOXICSNIPERSpbteam Whatever works.....here in N.Y. there aren't to many fields that let you bring your own paint. They have cheap admission fee's but they kill you on a case of paint. Anywhere from $80 to $100 for a case when I can go to my local shop and get a case for $40-$60.

@jdogame12 I had a similar experience. Except that I was cowering behind a dorito and got destroyed by a SL8R... When I left the field that day I promised myself I'd get as good as they were. Now I operate a Mini, and every opportunity I get, I let the younger players shoot it at the chrono range, with maxed out ramping, they absolutely love it and immediately tell their parents they want an electro/want to play more often etc.

I just got back into paintball and picked up an SLG UL.The last gun i had was a Spyder SE. I played at a field rite after i bought it and didnt change any settings... I couldnt wait to go back and put it on ramping and just watch the ropes go. Now that ive watched this im keeping it in semi and just going to have a blast and try to make it enjoyable for everyone.. Paintball is a great great great sport and it needs to grow again!

I have played for over 20 years now and have started over 100 people to the sport. My two guns are an Autococker and Automag. I only go out to areas where I have complete control of the game. My rules are simple...You get 100 paintballs per game. That's it! Totally changes the dynamic of the game and gives younger players with slower guns a better chance.

I've been playing for 13yrs, everything from local tourneys to X-Ball and super 7, and I've used every gun under the sun. When I play now it is just for fun (havent played a tourney for about 4 yrs now) and I typically use an autococker or my beloved tippmann prolite. It is a different game, and it makes you think again when you cannot hide behind your stream of paint.
