First off, listen to the album 'Secrets' by guitarist Allan Holdsworth. Vinnie plays on that album, and it's one of the most creative drumming you'll ever hear.

Drummers that are better: Proscriptor (from Absu), Kai Hahto, Gene Hoglan, Hellhammer, Horgh and lots more that I don't know their names (drummers to Atheist and Necrophagist for example), and that's just Metal. Neil Peart from Rush (not a Rush fan myself, but he is amazing) is alot better and you got Buddy Rich who was probably the best jazz drummer ever. I'm not trying to be a dick here, just trying to be informative.

@peopleispoep Perhaps by the little fanboys yea. I have to admit I didn't like them at first but AHIG changed that, they have grown a lot and their somewhat 'thrashy' sound is something I appreciate. Songs like Gematira, AHIG and Psychosocial are great tracks. I admit they are a bit overrated, but the guitarplayers are still great, so is Corey, also in Stone Sour, Paul and the rest are simply overrated, nontheless they put up a hell of a show.
