  • And God turned his back on the Man Jesus not the God Jesus. Remember 100% God 100% man. Jesus the man died on the cross Jesus the God rose from the dead. Same yesterday FATHER, today JESUS, and forever HOLY SPIRIT

  • Exactly since Jesus is God and Spirit He can do what he wants and if He sees fit to fill somebody with the Holy Ghost before water baptism he can. You say u don't know if he was "full of the holy spirit". Bible says in Colossians "In Him dwelt the fullness of the Godhead bodily." Fullness meaning Father, Son, and Spirit.

  • @ilactor He doesn't say water then spirit. As stated earlier as a firm believer in ACTS 2:38 and being Pentecostal I know the plan of salvation has to be fully embraced with Jesus name baptism and infilling of Holy Spirit I have seen people filled with holy ghost then we baptized them and have seen people get baptized and come out of the water speaking in tongues. When the day of Pentecost fell they re-baptized them in Jesus name because all they had before was Johns baptism.

  • @ilactor I firmly believe that baptism Is part of the plan of salvation. He (Peter) finishes by admonishing them to get baptized and that they should not forbid them water to do so. ACTS 2:38 all the way but I'm simply saying that water baptism doesn't necessarily have to precede spirit baptism. Lest Ye are born of the water and the spirit you will not see the kingdom of heaven. John 3:5.

  • @ :23 you said "I felt the Holy Spirit come down on me." How could you feel it when you weren't baptized yet? Acts 2:38. Just curious. I'm mean that not what the Bible teaches us.

  • rd acts chapter 10, they recieved the holy ghost before baptism

  • Again, Holy Spirit is recieved after one has repented and been baptized. Are you disagreeing with Acts 2:38 and telling me the Holy spirit can be recieved anytime? household of Cornelius was just a ONE time thing. The spirt came before Paul finished telling them how they should be saved :44 and before they even confessed! It just proved Peter was right in preaching to the Gentiles. The Jews would not have believed it otherwise :45 thats is the only reason why it was recieved before baptism.

  • im not trying to argue, but rd. acts 2, the Jews recieved the holy ghost before baptism, also rd. mark 16:17-18, the signs to the believers was speaking in new tounges and so on.

yes, i say that ppl CAN recieve the holy ghost before baptism(if they are believers)

no im not dissagreeing with acts 2:38

  • no,no,no, that's not correct. Only the APOSTLES received the Holy Ghost, not the jews, on the day of Pentecost when the church was established by God. The Jews heard this :5,6 and the apostles spoke to them each in his own tongue :8. And when they were pricked in their hearts what did the Jews ask? 2:37 and Peters reply? 2:38.you are in dissagreement. Acts 2:38 clearly states that the Holy Ghost is received AFTER you repent and are baptized not before. You say? Believers obey Acts 2:38 as is.

  • Excuse me, Peter not Paul.

  • @ilactore Acts 10:47 "Can anyone keep these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have." this was after the whole house of Cornelius had been filled with the Holy Spirit that they realized that salvation was for the gentiles too. Holy Ghost is recieved after repentance...not baptism. So u would have to say that Jesus was filled with the Holy Ghost only after he was baptized and that Jesus was not 100% God until he was.

  • @Miamor121901 That was a one time event to show as you said that salvation was also for the gentiles. This was to prove to the Jews that Peter was right in preaching to the Gentiles, they had a right to hear and obey the Gospel. It does not mean that it is how we receive the Holy Spirit, it just happened to the house of Cornelius for the Jews to see. v. 44 states that Peter was interrupted; he had not completed his instruction.

  • @Miamor121901 Peter realized the urgency for them to be baptized and v.48 he ordered them to be baptized. You don't see that happen anywhere else in the NT. Could the Holy Spirit have waited? Sure, but that wasn’t in God’s divine plan. Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized,...And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The outpouring of the Spirit didn’t even save them. ONLY after they were baptized, again Acts 2:38, 22:16.

  • @Miamor121901 @Miamor121901 . If what you say about the how we receive the Holy Spirit were true then Peter would be a liar. And with all due respect, I would much rather believe Peter, wouldn’t you?

  • @Miamor121901

Well, Lk 4:1 says "Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit." That was when he was tempted, after his baptism in chapter 3. I don't know that he was filled with the Holy Spirit "only" after he was baptized since Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever Heb.13:8. I don't think God would change his deity but he did take a bodily form and was baptized to fullfill all righteousness. Jn 1:10.

  • @Miamor121901

Even on the cross God the Father turned his back on his son as he carried the sins of the world. But he chose to suffer and die as human and not used his divine nature to call on twelve legions of angels Mt.26:53. The Lord works in mysterious ways. Jesus has alway been divine and can do whatever he wants and his word is truth. (Deut 29:29)
