frustrating when you cant get info from any source even gamestop. it is like this game does not excist or plan to exist outside the website. heard ps3 vers in 2012,but not even pc vers in 2011.
I must ask. With a project this eccentric, how comes that there is virtually no information available besides teh original web pages. I could have imagined, that it'd spark the interest of some moderately big gaming sites, but until now I've found nothing. And that's somewhat sad. :<
This is not the actual "intro" of DEM2. You're a liar. You're a lying liar that's lying. But I forgive you because Sir Christopher Lee just made tender sex to my ear drums for three minutes.
I'm looking forward to the final product. I really hope it'll have such an impact on me like the original. Given, I too was late for that party, but nevertheless it was gripping. As of now I can perform it myself in it's full length :p
Also, i'm really grateful for the clip. It's so hard to find any info.
so what kind of gameplay will it be? I assume the beginning will be more or less the same but would they really remake the game exactly like it was before with better graphics?
@Gamingnight If it's like the original Spectrum and C64 game it will be a trippy Pink Floyd esque experience with mini-games based around the 5 stages of life: birth, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, old age/death.just search youtube for Deus Ex Machina c64 or ZX Spectrum you should find the 2 playthroughs done for both versions of the original
Do these 20 stages match the 19-or-so avatars shown in the concept art, or are they arranged slightly differently? Kinda always felt weird assembling DNA and cells and *then* retrieving an egg and a sperm. So I'm guessing conception might just be one single fertilization stage?
@mvalente Thanks for the info! Seeing the concept art for Adolescence was amusing as hell, btw. Would it be a spoiler to ask if Senor deAlmeida gives a real sinister performance, especially during the interrogation segment and later on when his "personality" is being rearranged?
Awesome! Info on this is so rare and I'm looking forward to what is being done with it, especially now that it looks like there'll be almost a dozen distinct stages with new music (and possibly remixed old ones).
Also, Chris Lee (the narrator) must've twitched like crazy having to "modernize" Shakespeare like that. Perfect gentlemen.
You should start seeing stuff during these next couple of months. We hope to release the game sometime during Mazch.

I was born too late to enjoy the original on the original Commodore 64 but I love the game. I'm excited to see this game.

Most importantly...when will be able to get a larger glimpse of this project, and when will it be available for purchase? :)

The stages match the avatars. And yes, there's been some rearranging of the levels to address some "weirdnesses" of the original version :-)

You can find some audio clips at goo.gl_y8MCt (replace underscore with slash) with a bit of takes and a bit of interviewing.

Complete remake. 20 distinct stages. Totally (nearly) new soundtrack. We also have Joaquim de Almeida on board (Police Defect Kaptain Korg).

Is this a complete remake? Or a re-imagining? Or a sequal?
