  • why is your video not HD!!

  • I am electronics salvage tech and repair monitors mainly with power related failure. I have seen many w/o A back light funtioning. You eluded the part were you strip the LCD Floro's and place it.

Im gonna try a floresent 9-18 bulb setup Considering Power, Heat, Saftey, longevity, and Replacability - . Would I end up making a mess or a projector ? I only expect 200-300 lumens at 3 feet of 30 inch screen. But replicated at monitor resolution?

  • dude we use those bulbs in the 10K's at work (real profession film sets not crapy web TV shows). You ever seen one of those explode? They can kill you without the giant metal housing and re-enforced glass in front of them.

    And they're more like $1000 - $2000 not $60.

  • @ThanatosWings If you're going to take a Fernel apart to do this, just put the LCD in the fernel. Safer that way. Then put a clear glass in the lens holder of the light, one of the ones that came with the light. ... Actually it's just cheaper to buy a projector rather than buying a fernel.

  • 1080p my ass

  • very disappointed.:(

  • Also how much does that power inverter cost ?

  • You can buy a HD 1080p LED projector for around £150 and the bulb lasts 20,000 hours and it dont use alot of energy, and its alot smaller, it will look fucking stupid mounting that huge wooden box on your ceiling!

  • @fatfortuna

Show me where I can get a native 1080p LED projector for £150. Stop spreading lies.

  • thumbs up to all the fucktards saying ipod and magnifying glass....

  • what is the brand and model of the backlight lamp?where could i find it?

  • @Tommyavi home depot, lowes, or grow shops. grow shops have tons of lights but theyre spendy!

  • Watch the full video (over 40 min) here revision3(DOT)com/systm/projector (just replace (DOT) with ".")

  • Fuck you men!! you didnt show how you make

  • @amila1998 :D This is the funniest shit I've seen all day. In 2011, it's cheaper to just buy a full HD 1080p (1024x768 native resolution) projector from China, on eBay. There are LED projectors, now with over 50,000 hours lamp life and much better and brighter picture quality @ $400 or less. I imagine there'll probably be even better and more affordable projectors 1-2 years from now and we'll be saying how crappy today's projectors looked then.

  • @blkgnuz2007 yeah right

  • @alman021 Shiiit, ..let you tell it. LOL! :D

  • 400W lamp. That thing's gonna drink the electric and cost a fortune to run

  • @robsta1980 not really, running the central air in a house is something like 10000w.

  • systm ?? °o°

  • You need night vision goggles to see that projector picture. LOL

  • a ok

  • Led lights are getting alot better, my room has 2, 16 watt led's (equvelent of 2, 40 watts) which are really really bright, thoe work really good, they'll also make the projector alot cooler because there's no heat.

  • would a 100watt bulb do

  • alright mofos. watch it here

    revision3. com/systm/projector/?fs

    (without the space)

  • in india v say it CHUTIAGIRI

  • This was really retarded.

Thanks for actually SHOWING how to make this.... (Sarcasm btw)

  • stop asking how to make it! Just get a laptop display and put it over a fucking bright light! Thats all there is too it!

  • ok I totally get how to make it! no really, it's so easy you just need 2 wood boxes, a light, a screen, a lense, and an a** load of time to figure out how to make it. Trial and error and fire my friends.

  • Did the lightbulb died?

  • crap !!!

  • 3 minutes of my life just wasted

  • this video is such a fail...

  • Just turn your brightness all the way up on your ipod and put a magnifying glass over it.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=qbxi3_Yi5cU&feature=channel

there is the making of not quit moaning and do some digging!

  • shit me!.. there is lighthouse that is a 'bit dark' thanks to this vid.

  • @mikenco loser

  • @MissEmilyFarnan and you a winner , why? I thought not..

  • go out look for a 1000 watt halide vapor street light and a 13 14 inch lcd display a focal lens strip the display to where it is transparent and functional mount your hid lamp dead center with the lcd sandwiched between the focal lens and the hid lamp. the light shines threw the lcd "filtered" and threw the lens.

  • 02:15 Perhaps you should stop making a fool of yourself and start using centimeters already. There's a reason why it's so much better.

  • i wish you could do this with like an ipod screen and super bright led's just for on your desk...that would be cool

  • @qwertyism8 dude you totally can forget the leds just use your ipod, some camera lens, mirror and some sort of case to keep the light in and you've got yourself a mini projector..thats what im working on now.

  • what's the required parts to make that ???

    very pooooor video

  • better buy a beamer...

  • wtf....you guys talked more about the "new co-host" than how to make the thing!!! where the frick are the directions!?

  • wow 3000 + videos

  • 1080 hd my ass

  • he did not really show us how to build it...

  • nice murky picture..FAIL!

  • hdf do you make it lol

  • am hey this message is to phattacorider. the bulb used is a metal halide not xenons. Nd there is a reflector on it, a very good one actually and the reason for the poor projected image is because its way to big for that 400w bulb. also this vid is like an hour long so if u look for it, it shows u EVERYTHINK.....

  • The concept of this is pretty straight forward, put a light behind an LCD monitor and it will shine the image produced on the LCD to a wall. There are some things forgotten with this design. 1) DO NOT ENCLOSE THE BULB!!! Those xenons get SUPER hot and start melting and deforming components. Provide ventilation. 2) Use some form of reflection to get ALL of the light through the LCD screen, otherwise light is wasted and you spent $75 for a dim bulb. 3) Use a diffuser panel to equalize the light.

  • @phattacorider Well that would be great info, if the bulb actually was a xenon bulb, which it isn't...

  • @phattacorider the bulb is called a metal halide i use them on my 20 gal long reef tank with 2 pc 420 coralife bulbs

  • @ReefAdvicer

Is that what they're called? I used bulbs like those all over construction sites, run from a 220v source with a transformer ballast just like with HID Xenon systems.

  • @phattacorider mount a high volume cooling fan. insulate the interior with thick aluminum foil glued with some type of high temp epoxy.

  • Right guy looks like a plumber. Also this series is lame.

  • fuckers, no help at all, just taunting

  • this is the somalian special.if you live in a third world country you were just treated to a night at the movies.

  • Bite and Switch bull shit instructions as in NO instructions on how to. Thanks.

  • I hope you guys charged a fortune for the ad spots...

  • Would have been nice to get some shots of the finial product. I doubt they even put a reflective cover over that light. That 400watt would only produce around 100watts with out any reflection. Might as well have used a 1K watt bulb. Again, kinda cool, but would have been much better if they spent a few more minutes showing the actual assembly process.

  • man i hate these douches

they need to stop making videos

  • Very cool, quick question when you get a chance though, what is the output "lense". Any intel would be kickazz, thanx

  • Greetings from Home Vu Projectors. Not a bad video, some useful information. The only thing I dont like about LCD is the heat produced and the fans required to cool them. Our new LED projectors run much cooler, and can input 2 HDMI devices. Compared to LCD, they dont get hot at all. 50,000 hour lamp. Cool stuff.

  • hey, that patrick looks like HOMER SIMPSON.

    stupid bald!!!!

  • stupid!!!

  • That ballast should be remote because the bulb is going to overheat it because that bulb can get very very hot.

  • WTF?? weres the "making" part??

  • @Corey497 if you look at the related surches, the 41 minute on shows how to make it

  • @themagicmanofpower I would have never seen that, thank you!

  • @Corey497 its in the other video. episode 68!

  • @Corey497 /watch?v=qbxi3_Yi5cU&feature=channel

  • @Corey497 It tells you what you should use so it's assuming that you have the skills to make it.

  • @Corey497

In the 40 minute full episode. Its called a "condensed episode" because most people don't want to sit through a 40 minute YouTube episode.

  • @2BunnyReturns then call it a condensed episode dont write fake discriptions a better title would be 2 tools making a fool out themselfs

  • @wester144

No. Maybe you couldn't read what I wrote on your 40 year old 640x480 monitor ☺.

  • @Corey497 watch?v=qbxi3_Yi5cU

  • Comment removed

  • @Corey497 this is only a 3 minute run through of the actual show if you goto revision3.çom/systm/projector you can watch the 41 minute video on the actual building process.

  • greetings from amiga . org

  • The word is height not heighth.

  • wow, what a bad comeback..

  • holyshit... patrick from the screensavers.... wow i wondered what happened to him

  • instead of making one just buy one simple and what else no work to do instead of just setting it up man this is such a useless video really

  • Useless video.

I made mine with a overhead projector and a color overhead LCD panel. Not that bright but works well can get over 100inch projection before it gets blurry and no assembly either.

  • sorry to say but that light isn't that bright

  • This is by far the best and most complete guide to DIY projector. all of you people who said it's useless - can't you read?? just go to to their site, enter "projector" and you'll get a 40+ Min video along with a detailed written description containing all the links you need.

    it's great! thank you

  • theres a video on youtube that shows you what you need to use to make this type projector with and overhead projector

  • Wow, why not save more time in the video by just showing the completed project and saying, "There ya go. That's how you make one."

Oh wait, that is what you did...

  • if you were really interested, you'd have looked a bit more... they also have a 40 min version of this vid on youtube... explaining IN DETAIL how to build this projector... :)

  • you showed us nothing.

  • thats what the other 40 min vid is for... :)

  • Useless video man. enjoyed watching though

  • use leds instead of a 400 watts lightbulp :p

  • erm... so how do you build it? I missed that part LOL

  • can you use a laptop screen?

  • If you can figure out how to get an external video source to run on it.

  • if you don`t show us how to build the projector or tell us what parts you used then what`s the sense of this video.

  • I think you need about 5 more of those bulbs...

  • erm shitty lumens quality in a really dark room 1/5

  • em, wtf?!?!?!

    you did not show shit!

  • Systm used to be cool, now its rubbish.

  • you never showed how to make it.

  • @jungllest just go on LumenLab mate. They pretty much explain everything, unlike how these losers just talk about it. Good luck!

  • @jungllest watch?v=qbxi3_Yi5cU
