  • when i do this now it bringsme to a diferent website? is it still there?

  • @d101185n

I'm thinking "no", actually. Lately, I've been using a (far less robust) knockoff of TVShack located at "TVShack.bz" and that seems to be working out okay. Personally, I'd recommend looking at IceFilm though. Do an internet search and check on the new XBMC forums to see why it works better than TVShack did.

  • Unauthorized audio track, video reported.

  • @RIAAInformant

    Oooh - So scared.

  • or you can just go on tvshack.bz

  • @pengtinggalz

They fixed up TVShack.bz a bit now, but it is still nothing like the original.

  • TV-Shack is BACK! New Domain! ( Tvshack.sm.to )

Now Watch Unlimited Movies Instantly with HD!

  • @ujnique

    Sorry, nothing there.

  • i did it 3 time got the same computer type dint work

  • @sirbestnameever

Cool. You should note that they aren't adding new episodes to TVShack.cc. Glad it worked for you though.

  • still no work

  • @starwarsfamilyguy0

Nope! Still works fine. I should've probably noted in the video somewhere that they aren't adding any new content (that I could see) to TVShack.cc anymore. They are now adding content to the more primitive (but still somewhat usable) TVShack.bz site before they finally switch to a newer, more permanent domain from what I understand.

  • thanx and is works

  • to save

  • @ROCKL33FAN

    ... or not to save?

  • @2BunnyReturns LOL. No, I meant it didn't give me permission to save.

  • @ROCKL33FAN

What? What other way is there to have "permissions" in Windows?

  • @2BunnyReturns Apparently I'm not the administrator.

  • @ROCKL33FAN

See my other comment... The one that you laughed at that went something like this:

"If you're using Windows 7, you'll need to open Notepad as "Administrator" to have the permissions necessary to save that file.

    Good Luck."

    Give that a try again.

  • it says I don't have permission bro

  • @ROCKL33FAN

If you're using Windows 7, you'll need to open Notepad as "Administrator" to have the permissions necessary to save that file.

    Good Luck.

  • thx mate

  • doesn't work for me :(

  • @flmks

    What's that?

  • @2BunnyReturns yeah just saying i did what you told us but just doesn't seem to work. Keeps coming up with that FBI stuff about it being banned.

  • @flmks

Weird. I've never seen that before. Are you sure you're on TVShack?

  • @2BunnyReturns don't worry mate. It's working now. Just took it's time. Cheers for the vid btw

  • Awesome, this worked for me!

  • how do u get onto that site??????????/

  • @TheSadhbh087

    Which site is that?

  • @SFVone

No advertisements for other channels please. ☺

  • @SFVone

First, its a ".TXT" file. You'll need to run Notepad as administrator. I don't know what you're using Vista for, but you'll probably notice a performance boost as well after you upgrade to Windows xp or Windows 7.

  • @2BunnyReturns

Figured it out with 01Technet tut. thx. Um, I have xp on my other laptop and not everyone can afford to upgrade during these times

  • @SFVone

Yep. Just open notepad as administrator like I suggested, and you're good to go. Why did you buy vsta in the first place if "not everyone can afford to upgrade during these times", in your words?

  • @2BunnyReturns

Um, you realize that some people have computers that aren't new right? You know there was a time when computers came with VISTA installed right? Bought after XP and Before Windows 7 was available.

Onto the other channel...this is. sad.

  • Ugh..Having same issue as others.

    On Vista-

Won't let me save host file. Bummed :(

  • @SFVone

Why not try running Notepad as Administrator.

  • make sure the user account control is turned off in the user account settings

I beleive you have to be the administrator to do it

I was able to get it to work once i did that

  • @TheCipher100

That or Run notepad as administrator. Good hint.

  • works fine. cheers!

  • i cant do it :P it wont save :(

  • @starwarsfamilyguy0

Are you running Notepad as "Administrator" if you're on Windows 7?

  • works perfect your a genius man :)

  • @18matty1990 im having the same problems, except that phrase in notepad that says, "Localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself" doesnt appear on my notepad

  • @Mvick2207

So what exactly isn't working for yours then?

  • @18matty1990

If you are using Windows 7, you may need to provide administrative privileges for notepad to save the "hosts" file.

  • @2BunnyReturns

i am the administrator 4 this laptop so i have full access to every file in the hard c drive im using windows home peramium and the internet browser i use is mozilla firefox i have closed everything dwn and try it that way n it still wnt let me save it im stuck on what else i can do to make it work?

  • @18matty1990

Have you tried running Notepad as administrator?

  • @2BunnyReturns

i can only run as administrator when it is in the windows menu cant i? i will give it a go a nother try n if still no luck then ill message ya again to see lol

  • @18matty1990

    How's that?

  • thanks just got to get someone to do it im not to bright in these things.

  • wheres the code man

  • @superkushlover

Got kicked off the computer. Should be all there now.

  • @2BunnyReturns ok......i followed all the steps in your newest fix on tvshack.cc. but for some reason........the phrase in the Notepad that says, "Localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself", does not appear on my Notepad. What's the matter?? and also, it wont let me overwrite the host file

  • hay, can you put the codes in the desc.

also can i upload this video? i will give you full credit

  • @CMPSfilms
