Aloha my friend. It's been awhile since I sent you a message. I had my surgery July 25 of 2011. Everything went well until the first week of November. I somehow got a septic infection, darn nearly killed me. My surgeron had to go in and remove my remaining stomach, gall bladder and a foot and a half of small intestine. But everything is great now. I have lost a total of 163 pounds. I started out a 460 and now am down to 297. 57 more pounds and I will be at my goal weight. Talk to you soon. Aloha

@chickadee1014 Don't get discouraged weight gain does happen for many reasons. Just stay on track and monitor all you intake including fluids that have calories. That can add up quick. 28 pounds in 6 weeks is awesome and that's only the beginning!! Keep going, no one ever said this is easy but it is very possible!!

I'm trying to get gastric bypass with medicaid and I've been researching more and more on it until the initial dr. apt for approval. All of these before and after videos are so inspirational! I'm glad all of you took the time to make these. All of you who underwent this surgery just look so great! Keep this up girl! You're doing a wonderful thing.

@BxChiquita November is right around the corner, congratulations! As for the skin, it's something we all have to deal with. Some more than others. Exercise, Exercise, Exercise is the best advise I can give. Mainly resistance training will help with toning. Unfortunately there r many factors when it comes to skin like, age and just how much abuse it's already gone through. You'll do great. Concentrate on the weight loss, you'll be sooo happy!!!

@MusicalVerenice Thanks for watching! I'm holding strong with the weight fluctuating 5-10lbs but always watching it. :) I did lose a lot of hair! My hair is much shorter now and the texture isn't the same. Trade off is well worth it though!! :)

@MrsKay33 Thank you! I did alot of lifting for my arms but they still had a lot of loose skin. Check out my 2yr video and you will see it there or my loose skin video. For my stomach, I did the ball again a lot of loose skin. I used compression garments under my clothing which helped alot! lol

I love the final outfit you have in your video...you can watch you blossom while losing the weight- smile more and eyes getting brighter and happier. I a pre-surgery and watching these journey video's is getting me in the right frame of mind for success. I made the most important decision in my life by taking it back and having the surgery (eventually)

Congratulations to you. I am currently a year and 3 months since my sugery. I have lost a total of 110 pounds. I was 285 day of surgery and I am now 175. I feel great dont regret it one bit. Its one of the best things I did in my life. I am happy I am not considered obese anymore. Congrats again to you.

Love to watch your transformation! I also had gastric bypass surgery on September 23. 2009, and still have got about 50 more lbs to lose, but have lost 920 lbs so far. It has been an amazing journey and it is so fantastic to watch all the videos on YT where you can really see the light get back into peoples eyes as they move from a life of just existing, to a life of LIVING!

Im 5 wks post-op and weighed before surgery 344lbs, now i weigh 280 at only 5 weeks. No it was not easy or cheap but finding me again is gonna be worth it!

Hopefully it will give credit in the end. If Imay ask, what have been the hardest for you in your weightloss project? And how do you manage to not over eat now that it has been over a year after the sugery?

Thank u so much, I feel really great! My cholesterol was 175 prior to surgery which is ok but it's now 135 which is awesome! My surgeon said I had the best cholesterol of all his patients!! ur right, our health is the most important!!!

@MrsKay33 Thank you! I did alot of lifting for my arms but they still had a lot of loose skin. Check out my 2yr video and you will see it there or my loose skin video. For my stomach, I did the ball again a lot of loose skin. I used compression garments under my clothing which helped alot! lol

I love the final outfit you have in your video...you can watch you blossom while losing the weight- smile more and eyes getting brighter and happier. I a pre-surgery and watching these journey video's is getting me in the right frame of mind for success. I made the most important decision in my life by taking it back and having the surgery (eventually)

@97bluecrv Thank you so much! I remember watching everyone's video prior to surgery too! It helped me prepare for the good and the bad. U should really think about documenting ur journey also it helps with being accountable. It is still easy to get off track with surgery. Youtube is a great place for support!! Thanks so much for sharing! I just had my insurance approval go thru yesterday and am waiting for my surgery date. I'm stll afraid of surgery, but I'm more afraid of dying and leaving my family! I also was thinking about that song, "I'm Moving On" by Rascal Flatts. It's the perfect song for something like this. Did you have any severe skin sagging? My dream is to wear a sleeveless dress to my daughter's wedding in 2012. God Bless you so much!!!

Congratulations to you. I am currently a year and 3 months since my sugery. I have lost a total of 110 pounds. I was 285 day of surgery and I am now 175. I feel great dont regret it one bit. Its one of the best things I did in my life. I am happy I am not considered obese anymore. Congrats again to you.

Love to watch your transformation! I also had gastric bypass surgery on September 23. 2009, and still have got about 50 more lbs to lose, but have lost 920 lbs so far. It has been an amazing journey and it is so fantastic to watch all the videos on YT where you can really see the light get back into peoples eyes as they move from a life of just existing, to a life of LIVING!

Im 5 wks post-op and weighed before surgery 344lbs, now i weigh 280 at only 5 weeks. No it was not easy or cheap but finding me again is gonna be worth it!

@nicenikki1 I just got my surgery done a few days ago. How have you lost so many in such a short time? Are you doing something else?
@vkhele I wanted to ask you, for you to get that size did you do Lipo after or were you able to lose the extra skin without doing Lipo?

@drzmorenachula Exercising and eating only high protien foods. I only drink water and low calorie mix ins like crystal light,and avoid sugar as much as possible.sorry it took me so long to answer back but i didnt see yourcomment until today!

you look amazing! I'm at the same weight you were for the OP. I'm going thru the process to have the surgery done I still ahven;t decieded If i want the Gastric or the band done but you look fantastic!

@vkhele Thank you so much .. I took my two years to even get started on the pre diet I has to have before even getting the sugery. So it has already been a long journey. Hopefully it will give credit in the end. If Imay ask, what have been the hardest for you in your weightloss project? And how do you manage to not over eat now that it has been over a year after the sugery?

Mine looked like bat wings...i had skin hanging everywhere...would NEVER have attempted sleeveless...you pulled off sleeveless flawlessly--you are gorgeous!!! You look great ! Do you feel as good as you look? Wonder how dramatic a change your cholesterol and b/p are. I know its nice to see the visible changes but its our health too thats important too. You look great n your expressions show your not so stressed you look much more relaxed.

Thank u so much, I feel really great! My cholesterol was 175 prior to surgery which is ok but it's now 135 which is awesome! My surgeon said I had the best cholesterol of all his patients!! ur right, our health is the most important!!!
