  • I have posted a link to the actual health care bill in the comment section on my profile for those of you who would like to read it for themselves in order to find out the truth.

  • I'm so tired of people crying about bipartisanship. It's just a code word that means "watered down".

  • The Senate's health care legislation will give the Health and Human Services secretary the authority to develop standards of measuring gender -- as opposed to using the traditional "male" and "female" categories -- in a database of all who apply or participate in government-run or government-supported health care plans.

    WTF!

  • Fix government first, then take on health care. Who believes the idiots in Washington can fix anything?

  • They sound like republicans with their "work in progress" talking point.

  • since when has the expense of something stopped us from doing it? only when it comes to helping actual citizens do these reptiles balk at spending. fuckers.

  • yea what about the invasion of Iraq?

What about spending over 1,000,000,000,000 dollar a year on the military? Most of which goes in the pockets of contractors.

Only when it might go to those who actually need it, do the GOP refuse it.

So McConnell thinks the health care bill is bad...why? He just said it was bad and its gonna cost a lot, basically saying that the status quo is fine.

For the GOP, keeping the corporate ownership of the US is exactly what they want.

  • McConnel looks like a fucking turtle

  • where was ABC's This Week?

  • this country has its working class by the balls. what do you doe? work, pay taxes and pay ridiculous money for insurance, tht you only use one in a while. the system is made to facor teh rich(republcians) and help the poor, in the name of middle class (democrats). the real hard workers of this country are getting the shit end of the stick.

  • Of course this is going to cost money! The insurance companies and health care industry have blocked true reform for over a generation. The GOP is doing their best to continue to block anything, even though they did NOTHING while they were in power.

  • Gregory asked the same questions to Sebelious that he did to McConnell. Difficult for Sebelious, tee-balls for McConnell.

    We miss you Tim Russert.

  • Republicans haven't done shit for healthcare

  • Republicans and democrats have done much for health care. They both gave us P.P.O.s, H.M.O.s and corporate controlled health care.

When you have corporations helping write legislation for both sides of the isle, the only thing I'm sure of is that the corporations will come out on top.

  • Companies scared shitless.

  • exactly brother, thats all this "delay" thing is about. It took less than 1 month to create the US constitution, yet its taking so long to get a bill passed. This thing isnt complicated if you put the american people first.

Dekay seems to be the republican's latest strategy. Its the same thing they are doing with the sotomayor hearings, delay and slow down everything.

The more time they take to come up with something, the more time insurance companies get to lobby and turn more congressmen

  • if you look at how long the constitution took to create yes it was fast, but you also have to understand that the constitution was constructed by some of the greatest political philosophers of that time period and they also used people like russeau and machioveli (sorry if i botched that) to help them with democratic ideas. Modern Congress isn't filled with fantastic political philosophers (Dems or Reps) and has really no good precedence that would not raise taxes, which is there goal

  • Makes sense, but I dont think taxes is that big of a deal, people will pay higher taxes if its going to wards a cause they can see will help them.

If it leads to long term cost savings and a better system then by all means

  • they also didn't have twitter....

  • Irony the opposition are Republicans from places like Utah and Kentucky.

  • Cancel Congressional Heath Care until ever American is covered

  • I agree.

  • No Senator or Congressman should have Medical Coverage till EVERYONE does. See how fast things get done then.

  • Fact: "the high cost" is 1/2 percent of GDP. Come on, isn't health care for all worth it?

  • only if you do it right and it actually helps. if it doesn't well then its a waste and a political millstone.

who votes for the guy or girl who voted for health care reform if health care reform just makes your taxes bigger and doesn't give you any better access or quality of health care ? it has to be workable, otherwise you end up with a system like what we have in Canada.

It should be about fixing health care not trading one set of inequalities for another.

  • It is really odd. My friend is from Canada and says that he would give his health care system 100 out of 100. He claims that the wealthy don't like it because it doesn't give "instant" access unlike their expensive "premium" service.

  • I have since moved moved back to Canada after living in the states for 23 years while in the US military.

HC system in Canada has some problems but Canada is like the states, in that HC is regulated at a provincial level (a province is like a state and they're 10 provinces) where each province has it's own unique set of problems.

British Columbia, where I live, has a great HC system, it's little top heavy but it's works fine.

And it is true the wealthy here are trying to destroy it.

  • he must live in one of our cities. Access isn't bad in cities, for the most part. Still problems but not so much life threatening ones. Still your reply sounds very bourgeoise because in order to have care that works you need timely access to it. A good friend of mine has a 4 yr old daughter with health problems for over the last year and a half. Her family doctor thinks she has Cystic Fibrosis, but in order to start treatment the girl has to see a specialist ....

  • .... little Hailey has been waiting since April, and will have to continue to wait till November to see that specialist and begin treatment. I don't know how cold and uncaring you are, but in my world that kind of wait for vital care central to the life expectancy of your child should never have to wait. Waiting for a broken bone is one thing, when its cancer or hip replacement, or auto-immune like AIDS every day you wait brings you unnecessarily closer to death.

  • now I'm not saying Ontario Health care is the worst thing in the world, but its no better than your current system and that is the problem. your poor die waiting for care they can never afford, our sick die waiting for care they will never live long enough to receive, so what is the difference in these two unequal failing systems ?

  • Let's see... by simply asking questions and telling of my Canadian friend's satisfaction with his health care, you have insinuated that I am, inaccurately, bourgeoise and questioned my compassion for others. I was trying to rise above the fray here on Youtube and have a discussion but you, evidently, don't care to. Good-bye.

  • I also offered current anecdotal evidence of why I said what I said so you would know the real kind of issues Canadians face with our health care system. Too often Americans think ours is the way without acknowledging the weak points of our system. I wish you well moving forward, cheers!

  • Bless you for trying, mate. But youtube is not the place for high level discussion. Sad but true.

  • McConnell's clients are drug companies, healthcare administrators, insurers and litigators, who stand to lose their various sweet deals. Delay is his ally, and their only hope.

  • America hates long term goals.

  • Fuck bipartisan. You're not in power. You don't have any ideas. Stop playing with peoples lives.

  • No, I like long term goals. I like the public option.

But Im amazed at how many people are scared of it.

Anything that is complicated, or new, people are scared of.

Sorry, I forgot=no sarcasm or cynicism on youtube.
