Should have called it 'Digging Well by means of Hydraulic Dredging', I think a lot of these people are thumbing you down for that reason. I on the other hand think it is a good Idea. You can use the same technique to run pipes under your drive way if your installing sprinkler systems and don't want to spend a shit ton of money tearing shit up to dig a trench. I used to drill holes in my back yard with the hose when I was 8-10 years old. So thumbs up for my Fond Memories reflection.
There are several hand dug wells around here. Some are very large and very deep. You have to be careful not to fall in them because you would probably never get out.
@CalisCool after the well was closed, and after pumping a lot of water from the well, it was very clear water. I did taste it, it tastes good and I'm still alive ;-) But, the water is meant for irrigating the garden en the pond, not to drink it...
@samuelmwanjahi the pump is a normal dirt-water pump, which can be bought in every tools shop for around 40 Euro. The tube is an old drinking water tube, which I got from a second-hand tube shop, costs around 50 Euro.
2 clues that this vid is Dutch (person, language etc.) haha wooden shoe or clog at 0:45 to 0:48 ... also if you click "more" it shows Dutch language typed
@Wolfrick308 I injected high pressure water with the garden hose and a copper pipe made flat at the end. Then the pump pumps the water/sand mixture out.
The water table is high in Holland. I saw a man in Honduras dig a well 75 meters deep and he still didn't hit water. It took him 2 years to dig it and he gave up when the city water made it out to his place.

So you had active water 14FT down or is it based off the principle of collecting rain water?
Twisted86 3 weeks ago
@Twisted86 it is active water , actualy, around 4 FT down is the start of active water. The depth is to get enough discharge.

You say "dredging techniques".... Can you elaborate on how the material was removed from the bottom of the well?
Wolfrick308 1 year ago
@Wolfrick308
I injected high pressure water from the garden hose, to mix the sand and water. Then a normal pump pumps the mixture out.

RainJetSprinklers 1 year ago
@RainJetSprinklers
I use it to irrigate my garden. The well has a lot of capacity, so I can just drown my garden in dry times ;-)
I also use it to fill my swimming pool. the water looks very clean.

What type of tubing did you use for the well shaft?
lupeveldez 2 years ago 2
@lupeveldez
the well shaft was a 50 cm diamater , 1 cm thick, PVC drinking water pipe, 5 meters long. I cut it in two, to be able to handle it.

How long did it take you to make this hole?

It took about 2 weeks, but not fulltime of course ;-) I think in total it was 3 days of work, mostly done by the pumping, not by me ;-)
