i really like dhis video of urs. becaures it is all about; 'Self-Defense' which is a sytle of [Koden Kan Karate] due rough training and fitness to depend by your body wight, shap or size.. besides if you want to prove yourself to be the best in {Martial Arts}! then u have to beat the best one ;) if u will'ng to try or not. like the wise once say: THE POWEFUL WEAPON IS YOUR MIND!! :) so i'm going to give it a 4-POINTS!!! :D

Id like to be under her while she bends a bit further down and let my lips sink inside her sweaty well trained pussy and lick and swallow her pussy corn, mmm
With all due respect, good luck pushing a fast kick to the side. Of course it's easier when sparring and expecting it but in a real fight, gooood luck! I was trained to step forward at an angle when I saw it coming. Your not just stepping to the side of the kick but stepping toward it is stepping away from the power too. No power if the foot connects by chance cause the leg is not extended much. Then, scoop the leg as it came past you and sweep the foot for a take down. I say good day.
I have trained seven years shotokan karate and I am a semi professional photographer. The video angle here is a straight shot. 1) She is only using her arms, that wouldn't work 2) she is teaching the technique wrong which is bad for people who believes her. And no, I am not scared to tell her myself.
Maybe they have put based their curriculum on the rules from their karate union (or whatever you call it). They do it in Belgium with styles like shotokan. All details are altered by the Karate union, which doesn't mean it is good. Lots of the original flavour are lost because of that.
1) the arm is dangerously hyperextented, this will lead to her elbow getting snapped and broken whilst trying to block a kick.
2) this technique requires the full body (strong rooting and waist turning) movement to work. The biggest mistake is to believe it is only the arm that does the job.
But teaching people a wrong technique that could cause their arms to break during impact, is bad. That she is teaching it for 10 years is bad and she should know this.
in shotokan we do a similar block, but we sure as heck don't keep our arms hyperextended like that. Maybe it's just the angle but it seems very extended, if you caught a full force kick with that you'd break your elbow. Try rotating your arm so you cover the front of your body while keeping a strong block the whole time, as in don't extend your arm so much, and you'll have a much stronger block.
wax the floor, wax on wax off just kidding
good tips

I think I figured out how this block works
right before you make contact you do the scooping motion. it still makes contact but there is only risk of self injury if you make the scoop too late
cavepanther 3 years ago
everything is about timing - for example SAS, a fraction of a second late and you lose your cover

Do you HAVE to start the block with your arm extended all the way out to the side, or is that just how they showed you in the text book?
