  • when i'm selecting my mouth area and neck i'm only selecting four squares...how are you getting 12 or so

  • Best. Blender. Tutorial. Evah! This is the best way to learn...step by step with the instructor NOT assuming the audience already knows all the keyboard shortcuts. Great job!

  • no homo but your voice is really sexy and relaxing.

  • @StyxandSt0n3s Thanks, mate! Appreciate the kind words.

  • @StyxandSt0n3s hes right.. usually people that do these tutorials have horrible voices >.<

  • how do I move the lights and camera to a different layer? you didn't click a button and you didn't say the hotkeys

  • @gabefett hey buddie right click on the desired item them hit m and choose your selected layer = done

  • @gabefett sorry thats for blender 2.60 not sure if its diff...

  • @DeniseStarFish I figured out the hotkeys and I'm much better at blender now; thanks for the help though.

  • @deathleg44 you can also click b and left click and select the mouth area

  • @deathleg44 beside the face select mode button there is a button called "Limit selection to visible". click that button so it turned white, press Ctrl button and select. It will select the mouth and the one at the back as in 2:51

  • how do "i take this and hit e"?

  • @shadowblur14 see my answer for deathleg44

  • What is the keyboard hot key for smoothing?

  • @TheLeagueChannel For smoothing your mesh: while in Edit Mode, select the area you want to smooth, hit WKey , then choose Smooth - or hit 9Key (each number selects a different item from the dropdown menu.) Hope that helps!

  • @TheLeagueChannel press left shift and hold while smoothing

  • also in all videos about sculpting with blender author has brush shown on screen but on my blender all i have is the mouse indercator how can i get the brush to show its hard when you dont know the effective range of each brush i use any help

  • how did you select the cut section for the mouth without having the button checked

  • @l33trikimaru ok just noticed you did have it checked however the foreground grid refrences of your shape match perfectly with the background of the shape ... how lol when ever i try to select the cut it just messes up and the select is naff

  • Nice work and also I was woundering what type of computer do you use cause my computer is kinda old and im looking to buy a good CPU to create video games with. Also how did you get your blender layout like that.

  • @iziViZioNizi I use an AMD Athlon 7750 Dual-Core Processor, 2.69 GHz, 3.25GB RAM, Windows XP Pro (Service Pack 3,) but there are probably better CPU's out on the market now. What are your system specs and what is your price range?

  • Hi, i have literally just downloaded Blender 2.49, and was wondering if this tutorial is applicable in that version? I really want to model a brain, and thats how i came across your tutorial! Can you please respond or even help me in any way, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • @ThexRaGeD Are you wanting to model the full human brain? (Not just an exposed one, like in this tutorial.) Well, the sculpting tools in 2.49 are different in the way you select your tools, but the hotkeys should be quite similar. I'd say, "Yes, you can definitely take a lot of what's taught in this tutorial and apply it to sculpting techniques in 2.49," but I'd also add that "No, it won't be the same because the interface has changed a lot." I'd suggest downloading 2.55 for the best results.

  • TIP: Once you clicked smooth from the menu you can set the amount of iterations in the Tools bar. ;) (I hate it when I see people do this: 3:00)

  • @bclaus0 Thanks! I hadn't noticed that. (Old <2.5 habits.) Cheers!

  • Great tutorial! You could make more video tutorials like this with other sort of monsters.

    Thanks!

  • @guiltygearvenom Thanks! Hey, thanks for the suggestion! Finally someone is commenting with an idea for other video tuts. Thanks! :D

  • @benjamindbailey Beginner's question. If I wanted to model the rest of the body of the zombie, would I make a different blend file for the body or would I continue from the head?

  • @CyroMega Actually, that's an excellent question. It depends on how fast of a PC you have - if you have an incredibly speedy one, or sculpt at a low resolution, you can sculpt the entire character as one object. However, if you have a slower PC, like the one I use, (it's a good PC, but not epic,) then you'll need to do parts of the body in sequence, normal map them to their respective low-res models, then stitch those low-res models together.

  • @CyroMega Of course, if you stitch the objects together, you are going to have seams in the normal maps, and a HUGE lack of continuity with the sculpting of the body (it would be hard to line up the detail/form.) The long and short of it is that I've never done it and would love to know myself. So from one student to another, I say "Good luck and let me know when you find out!" :)

  • Awesome tutorial and great voice, keep it up, Banor! :-)

  • @DreadKnight666 Thanks, man! Glad you enjoyed it. :) Any topics you would like me to cover in a tutorial?
