My only gripe about the software (and this applies to most apps on Windows in my experience) is that a few new UI conventions are introduced which don't conform to any other widely used ones. Example being, you had to pause and find the settings button. In many MS apps, buttons and features are all different (think Office vs MSN Live vs this Zune software). Otherwise, it looks compelling.
Yep. To access the "new toolbar" Enyoface1 is talking about, right click anywhere on your task bar (the bar next to your start button), select "Toolbars > Zune". It's a even more compact version of the "Miniature View" I described in the video. Thanks for the tip!
If you're running windows, i believe itunes keeps EVERYTHING in your "My Music > iTunes" folder. before you start moving things around, i would suggest backing up this folder to an external harddrive just incase.
Once ur ready, simply move the itunes folder from My Music to another location (e.g. cut and paste it to ur desktop). go into that folder and move all your music to My Music, all your videos to My Videos, etc.
I've had a lot of issues importing my perfectly tagged music with embedded album art. A lot of the art doesn't make it into the Zune software. Any tips on that?

Looks good but is still crippled in terms of format support (no FLAC sadly). Foobar2000 still remains as the serious audio lover's player.

You shouldn't have a problem. The folder you have your itunes files in, just allow the zune HD to monitor that folder. Problem solved.

No you have to use zune software and I'm pretty sure that songs bought from itunes won't work on a zune anyway
Dustjavo 2 years ago
Dustjavo, there are ways to convert DRMed itunes purchases into mp3 files to enable playback using the zune software and other non-apple software.
Here's an example: bit[.]ly/DgdYu

the zune software i mentioned in this video is equivalent to itunes. you need to install this software to sync your media with your zune.

I know older versions of the Zune software do not support some forms of embedded album art.
Have you upgraded to 4.0, vinzouille?
You can always right click the album art space and manually add album art within the Zune software, but I know that's a painful process.

Yes I did the upgrade. I'm plyaing with the ID3 tags formats to see if that changes something. In any case, thanks your reply!
