Shall we wait until there is widespread criminal activities in these neighborhoods before we start speaking out? According to UNDP reports concerning Syria, 40% of the Syrian people live below the upper poverty line.
there is much poverty, but not 40% below the poverty line ...
I´ve lives a year in such neighborhoods when i was in syria. most people live there life allthough it´s sometimes hard. but until now you don´t find so much crime, drugs and broken famlies like in many other poor neighborhoods in the world and there are few homeless people
moazzen23, that is beside the point. There are places like that all over the world to be sure. The problem in this case is three-fold: 40% of the population of Syria live below the poverty line and in such unplanned settlements. Two: no efficient social security systems exist to help the people. Three: widespread corruption among local authorities expose inhabitants to all manner of blackmail. I doubt very much that 40% of the population of Paris live under similar conditions.
thier is alot to like about this islamic neighborhood
