Hyenas are assholes, they don't stand a chance against a noble creature like a bear. Even if a hyena weighs 500 lbs it would still be a cowardly creature, it would still eat corpses and get his 50 hyena butt buddies to gang up on a rabbit. Bears are pretty much smarter too, it's easier to train a bear than a hyena. Who would want to train a hyena? Who would even like hyenas?
