@lovemyhorsexoxo after i completly fell of my trainer didnt let me over that fence again. On the grounds there are smaller xc fences that we took him over. he was also young and is a xc star now. lol
ur a good rider my horse did the same thing when i started jumping. He'd rear or buck at anything i wanted him to even walk over like a ground pole. so i worked on ground poles up to a canter then the smallest jump i could possibly make let him sniff it befor he had to jjump it but i never let him get away with not doing it. Hes a great little jumper now. I can put anything at or below 3 ft and he'll jump it (keeping in mind hes a pretty small horse thats half his size and were still not done.)
@Justbecause110 i know:) I still carry that concern even to this day. We never jump him much, just a few times to introduce him to new things-such as here. However, this instance went terribly wrong :(
@Michellecoutois. thanks for you "oppion" but hes five in this video and is still green. So you can just keep your thoughts to yourself-thanks. keep it real? im sure after this 10 championships is keeping it real.
Just pick a "gate" and I'm sure he'll be fine with PACE!!? That was neither a TROT nor a canter. Have to say with no pace and bad distances, NO horse would jump that! lol. Always the "operator"...just sayin', but glad you guys can poke fun with it! Rider confidence....hate to speak truth here...someone has to KEEP it real! ;-)
Thanks:) He's a sweetheart thats for sure. We finally got him over it this spring... and even though they looked like nasty falls, they werent all that painful:) just a few bruises and soreness:P I just suscribed you too:)
He is a beautiful horse! everyone comes a bad time! (: Hope your okay though looks quite a nasty little fall you had there! :D weldone for getting back on and trying not once twice! (: brilliant way to go! hope you can sub my video's and check them out as i've subbed you (: Would be really nice for u to comment on my first video i've got out on you tube (: x
He is one beautiful admiring horse btw! Everybody has thoes little issue's, I hope your okay though! (: Maybe you could check out my newest video intro and comment? thanks! that would be super!!
Oh I feel for ya! My horse is 4 too. He's gorgeous though :) And he looks like a really nice mover! You did good for the situation. I hate jumping Phantom over new fences. O.o It's stressful! But yeah, great job :]
Thanks:) and it hurt..but nothing damaged:) and he's only four..and has never jumped a ditch, nor a ditch w/ a pole over it (which my trainer said this jump resembles) but you cant blame a young and inexperienced horse:)
Ouch! Glad you were okay. I remember my jumper's first time jumping out in a big field with new, scary looking jumps--it took multiple tries to get over anything, and he nearly did what your horse did (falling on it). He was young and green. It was frustrating--which is probably how you felt!--but after some hard work and time, he now jumps anything and everything. Your horse will get there once his confidence improves!
No, we did the "three stikes your out game" after the third atempt/second fall... we were done. we had to go down to the lower feild and jump a much smaller than that fence, which was a roll top... adn after one refusal, and lots of trotting around teh fence he went over :) and i havent tried him w/ ditches yet! lol our main thing is water :/
Yipes, did you ever get him over? Sami tripped into a ditch once, and since then I have a hell of a time getting him over ditches or trakeners... Good luck with the little guy
thanks malpa:) he is an AWESOME jumper for his age (NOT trying to brag, but he is :P lol?) and Rike that is true... and its painful shit taht happens:P

a young horse's tendons, bones, and muscles are still developing. Careful that you don't strain him too much- I assume you already know.

@SophieStarburst It is one of the songs from the movie: The Horse Whisper. Its soundtrack.
