  • @abdurog1122a I Dont know on what resolution you are going to play, but @ 1440x900 with the same GPU I can play bf3 on high-ultra with worse CPU, ram etc than you. so you will be fine I think

  • please help>>>>will this run battlefield3 smoothly

    amd phenom x4 960 zosma @3.0Ghz

    radeon hd 6770

    asus m5a88-v evo

    ddr3 HyperX 8gb @1600

on 21-24 inch 1080p monitor medium-high at least what fps should i be expecting?plz help

  • @abdurog1122a

    yes it can run smoothly

  • will this processor work with BF3?

    i have 4gb of DDR2 Ram

    Geforce 9800 GT (Dx10 ready)

    Plenty of HDD space...

  • @trekhead1 This CPU will work. The GPU might be a problem depending on your resolution. You can probably run it on low and still be over 30FPS depending on your resolution

  • @trekhead1 yeah i have 9800gt 512 mb with core 2 duo 3.0 ghz and i run without problems.you can play on medium

  • Mine says it is AM3 amd athlon II 160u 1.8ghz. Is that true?

  • overclocked my amd 955 to 3.8 ghz increased voltege to 4.2v and got my results from stability test ran for 10 hours and no errors, temp was around 37-42 celciuse, specs, amd 955, collermaster v8, 8gb g-skill 1600mhz, asus m5a97 am3+,ocz 600w modxtreme pro and amd xfx 6870 black edition, anyone planing on getting a phenom black edition i recomend u buy 955 cause u can clock it to the same clock speed as others effortless and save some cash :D

  • I am getting the 95 watt version :D

  • Overclock mine to 3.8GHZ on stock voltage. Now i can run pcsx2 and dolphin emulator at full speed. This is a superb processor.

  • if you have amicrocenter near buy get phenom iix4 840 on sale almost free check it out ppl got it at 3.6 well go more but ok 4 now

  • AMD is a very good procesor for gaming and other aplication

  • @DrMrSciDipling with a dedicated graphics card yes, like a x5000 series or maybe a x4000 ati

  • @DrMrSciDipling this is a good processor

  • Which is better bang for the buck ?

    Phenom ii x2 555

    or II x4 955

  • @Hankextreme X4 955

  • @Hankextreme what do you think? quad or double?

i have x4 955 and i am disappointed, next time i will jump on intel i5 2500k, it only costs 100euros more and 5 euros more expensive mobo but it's worth it.

  • @LeevuskaRakastaa Dissapointed in what :( ? Gaming ?

  • @Hankextreme yes, in gaming. it doesn't bottle neck my gpu ( gtx 570 ) in almost any games, except for battlefield 3 skyrim and saints row the third. for future gaming like next year you should get intel i5 2500k. it's better and faster than any of the 6 core phenoms.

and i check'd the price. in finland, we pay VERY high taxes and it costs 208euros so it will be lower anywhere else i think.

but if you play valve games call of duty and that kind of games you should be cool with phenom ii x4 955

  • @Hankextreme Just over clock it to 3,6Ghz then it's doing fairly well in most games.

i plaid crysis 2 1920x1200 max settings with my setup

    gtx 570

phenom II X4 @ stock clocks at the time i plaid crysis2

    2x 4 gb ddr3 @1333mhz

  • hi I have a question is the AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE,sAM3 compatible with an Asus M5A97,sAM3/AM3+ motherboard?

  • @0900090990 You might need a bios firmware update however it should work!

  • my 955 goes to 51idle and in stress 60-65 without overclocking...with boxcooler it was even worse but now with my freezer pro its little bit better. My friends say they have so much lower temperatures with boxcooler..can it be broken?

  • @SuperSonicDonk3y Thats my problem, I have 3 fans surrounding my CPU and and am getting 47 C idle, along with 70-79 C Max load...I was going to get a aftermarket cooloer this next week anyways, but I'm still worried...:(

  • AWSOME:D

  • Gotta question, I have an and phenom ii x4 955 @ 3.2 GHz and it's not a black edition so what's the difference between mine and a black edition?

    My specs phenom ii x4 955 @ 3.2 GHz 4gb DDR3 ram and a nvidia geforce gtx 560 ti

  • @Blaze11000 the phenom x4 955 only comes in black edition therefore your 955 is a black edition and there is no difference because the regular one doesnt exist.

  • @easylolzcatz oh ok thanks good to know i guess i never really payed attention lol

  • @Blaze11000 The black edition has the cores unlocked for overclocking, the other does not. Come right from there website.

  • 1:30

  • well done everything fits

  • this is really cool!

  • very entertaining great job

  • should i turn off cool n quiet?

  • well hell for 20 bucks more ima get this CPU compared to Phenom II X4 840. Seems like you can do allot more for only 20 dollars :) Great buy and is better than i5 intel.

  • Did you use the stock cooler for those 52' in occt?

  • @dizzu no he used a coolermaster v10

  • @dizzu no wtf, he gots CM V10

  • hi i have just bought this cpu for my pc and im using a asus m2n-e and i updated my bios to the right one but im only getting 800mhz on all four cores. Someone help please.

  • @xTreMe2HardCorEx it only does it in idle

when you get into game, programs etc. it will go to 3200MHz

  • phenom x4 955 vs i5 2300 ? whats better ?

  • @Boosteradidas I recommend amd for gaming and intel for workstations, it depends on what you do, but phenom II x4 in my opinion is between i3 and i5, it's like i4

  • @Ripafartstudios

okay i'll keep that in mind !

    thanks for your answer :)

  • @Boosteradidas i5 has more performance but the phenom has better performance per cost, I would suggest you get the phenom and spend the rest on a better graphics cards. The graphics card is what slows down the system the most.

  • @Boosteradidas bc 2 (550ti each) 2300~ 56 fps maxed out 1080p phenom 955~ 49 fps maxed out 1080p

  • @Vpsb97 I heard the stock cooler is pretty bad ass, keeps 30 idle and I think 47- 60 tops for gaming and rendering heavy stuff

  • Comment removed

  • Vista really? Well, I guess if your trying to see how powerful it is. If it can run vista without stutters, then I guess it's pretty powerful.

  • may i put this cpu with my hd 4890 and everything will be good ?

  • PLEASE RESPond!! This CPU or the X2 555 BE

    Which one is better

Can you unlock this to a 6 core?>

  • @BroknSircut the x2 is a dual core and this one is a quad core (way more powerful) and no, you can't unlock it to 6 core.

  • @BroknSircut This cpu kills hte 555 BE, and no it cannot, it wasn't a 6 core failure so it's just a 4 core. Also you must remember that, unlocked cpus are the original brand/core, but it was unstable so the company had to remove the defective cores. Unlocking cores can mean unstable cores( as i've said before defective) unstable heat etc..

  • Is this processor good for using programs like Adobe after effects, Cinema 4d and Sony vegas etc.. with 4gb ram and an amd radeon graphics card?

  • hey! nice vid! i have a question.

    will all these parts fit?

    Silver Power SP-SS500 500W PSU.

    ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3, Socket-AM3.

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition.

    Corsair Vengeance™ DDR3 1600MHz 4GB CL9.

    Western Digital AV-GP 1.5TB.

    Please respond ASAP

  • @DeadlyPancakes your gonna want to get a motherboard that has the new 900 series chipset (the new am3+ boards) so it's a future proof but yeah it should work out.

  • is it ok if I use the processors power phases?

The things that control the CPU's power - for example in idle it stays at 800mhz and a multiplier of 4x and when it needs more processing power it jumps to 2000mhz with 10.5 multiplier or 2500mhz or 3200mhz with 16x multiplier

I was wondering if it's ok to let it at this settings or should I set it to max 3200mhz?

  • Man people underestimate the 955: I have it at 3.6ghz on the stock cooler, imagine if I liquid cooled that bad boy.

  • What do is better? Phenom II x4 995 be or intel core i5 2400???

  • @TheGoodGuy4U It depends what you will be using it for.. If you want to do everything purchase Intel, If you want Gaming go for AMD. Simple :D

  • looool $115 dollars now :D

    on its way here

  • I'm going to install a computer with this kind of CPU and Raedon HD5770.It's fast enough for me to play computer games.

  • @1163602318 me too!

  • Comment removed by Intel.

  • @MinttyDizzy Get the i3 if all you do is game as you will most likely get 1-2 more fps. if you care about having a quad-core which would be better for everyday use for most tasks and multitasking you should get the x4. either way its good. if you get the 955 x4 you can OC it and probably beat the i3 in everything but you might feel comfortable overclocking.

  • @TukaTuba Corsair H50 with push / pull :)

  • 155 average in Bioshock, 150 average in CoD4? You just gave me the reason I needed to order this processor.

  • @MinttyDizzy AMD it's cheaper

  • just wondering if its good for gaming? im planning to pair this cpu with my EVGA GTS 450 SC.

  • @bryllecosare23 Its a good cpu for the price

  • this is a pretty affordable for a quad core

  • i got my 955 BE to 4.2 GHz

  • Why the hell do I get ~45 degrees celcius on idle and ~58 degrees on full load at stock 3.2GHz?! Anything higher than 3.3GHz will go beyond the max temp. Is the heating badly installed?

  • is AMD phenom(tm) IIX4 810 processor a good processor

  • @MrKvikki its okay, but you want a quad core that is 2.8 ghz or higher imo.

  • 1.5 volts is not nessciary to get to 3.8Ghz. You can run 3.8Ghz on 1.425...

  • @misterpc23 I am running my Phenom II X4 955 BE @ 3.8GHz with 1.405v pretty stable, I have not run any extensive stability tests(8 hours is the longest I have done) but I have not had any crashes or problems yet. have you run any stability tests at lower voltages?

  • @rollout10 I have not. I dont really do anything on my pc that I can withstand a crash. So I keep it at settings I know work.

  • Just bought it on newegg for 120$ ish. Decent price for a decent processor. Doing a budget build so intell was out of the question. Then sell great processors but for often twice the cost of AMD's.

  • How good is this CPU combined with an ATI 5770, on Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3?

    Help! :(

  • @TeHF0rc3 dunno about BF3 because its not out yet. but if you OC it should be monstrous

  • @TeHF0rc3 very

  • @TeHF0rc3 Well there are 2 things you need to consider.

1.What's your motherboard?I ask this question because the motherboard

dictates what Memory,Power supply,Graphics Card, case, optical Drives and fans

you use.2.Is your Graphics Card an HIS 5570 Silent 1080P low power consumption card?

Graphic cards when used in SLI discription wich aren't low power consumption cards are good but

Run hot.The silent low power usage cards can get the job done for games but can't push high

    frame rates.

  • @TeHF0rc3 Single player games (not online) are good for SLI.Multiplayer use 1080P

low power consumption card (one only) are best for online. The reason for this is due

to packet size transfer Time/Size affect latency or LAG.Turn down your resolution and

adjust computer workload threw task manager to stop non essential from draining

    resources.

  • @PCWizKid im new to computer tech, so plz if u reply plz talk in noob :) should i be able to play just about any game on this computer with a good $150-$175 graphics card on a reasonable setting? (for graphics quality) thanks!

  • can i use a phenom ii x4 3,4ghz 965BE , gigabytes gtx 460 4gb ddr3 1333mhz on a 600W power supply

  • @GamingGTX460 Yes you can if you have a good power suplly and not a delux or no name power supply.

  • Was this done with stock cooler?

Because I have this CPU and I'm looking to oc but worried about heat ( new CPU cooler is out because I don't know how to remove my motherboard) thanks

  • I play crysis on this cpu, combined with a gtx 460 and 8GB of ddr3, this thing is a beast. I've overclocked it to 3.93GHz on aftermarket cpu fan from zalman and it runs great. AMD overdrive works flawless with it. gets 7.4 on my windows score and I run Crysis at very high get 30-50fps at 1920x1080 :) buy it, you can't beat it for the price

  • @thedanphillips what motherboard would you suggest.

  • @thedanphillips Thank you man, that's good to know, i am getting this processor tomorrow, updating from a Phenom II BE 550.

  • @DaniFilth84 What power supply do we need to run this on our motherboard?

  • @edwardwills Personally i have an Ultra LSP 750Watts Power Supply, but it really depends on what you need and have on your rig, my motherboard requires a power supply with a 4-pin connector known as P4, but some motherboards require an 8-pin connector, so you better check the specs on your motherboard to make sure, the processor is awesome, i really like it. Hope this helps.

  • @synistersixxfold Gigabyte Socket Motherboard GA-880GMA-UD2H

I sent the manufactor an email seeing which power supply they recommend. I am looking into a 750W one. I would like one 1gig video card, one 2 gig video card, and one good sound card.

All in all, I will have a 3.2 GHZ processor, 16 gig of ram (yes, I know it is a lot). I have NO NEED to overclock, because I have been running a 1.8ghz with 1 gig of ram for two years, so factory specs will seem like a super computer to me.

  • @edwardwills MMMHHHH quite frankly to run two video cards you need at least an 850 watter, now, are you gonna be using a PhysX dedicated card and a main GPU?, which cards are you looking for?, because a 1Gb card doesn't really mean that is going to be a super card, a lot of RAM is just necessary when using big monitors, but i will set an example, Running a GTX 570 as main gpu and a GTS 450 as a PhysX dedicated card, and all the specs thta you are looking for, an 850 watts will be ok

  • @DaniFilth84 I ordered a Cooler Master GX Series 750W ATX Power Supply RS750-ACAAE3-US. I currently have or will have a Visiontek Radeon HD 2600 Pro 512MB PCI-E DVI Recrt (just something cheap I got refrubished for $35 to run two monitors for stock screens), HOWEVER, I am looking into a GREAT PCI X 16 card to run movies, etc. 1) any advice on a GREAT PCI X 16 card? 2) With a simple 512MB and a PCI X16, running a Phemon II X 4 with 16 gb of ram with a 750 W PSU should be enough????

  • @edwardwills With those specs, a 750W will be more than enough, i checked the power supply specs, and it's great, 60amps on the 12Volt rail is great. It will be a good product for sure man.

  • @billsamk cool, thanks man apreciate it .

  • I am interested in this CPU, how well would it perform if i play Microsoft flight simulator?

  • @qwertyguy76 very good. more than perfect actually

  • @Zyphon400

hi, i would also like to know if the stock cooler is good and quiet, and if its not, what cooler is recommended for this CPU?

    -thank you

  • hey i want to see benchmarks on gta IV

  • hello, to anyone that knows... im looking to buy this processor with an asus gts 450, is this a good combo for gaming? im not a hardcore gamer so games dont have to be on max settings, just as long as i can run most games that are out right now at decent settings. Thanks for your time.

  • @gluis2k you'll have a very good combo for gaming, at a very affordable price!! it's more than enough for what you want :)

  • @Zyphon400 cool thanks for the response, preciate it, alredy ordered the parts, hopefully i dont mess up the build lol

  • hey great video man.

  • If i upgrade from HD4870 to HD6950, this is still a dragon

And all AMD 7 series motherboards are considered dragon platforms.

Why is this so strict to HD4800 and 790FX/790GX? That is BS.

  • hey, i'm getting a new rig soon, is this CPU a good investment? :)

  • Hey i have a Phenom II dual core 550, would this CPU be a good upgrade for me?

  • will this processor work well with a gtx460 card?

  • @NsMs96 Yessir I have a gtx 460 cyclone and this CPU and it works great playing fallout new Vegas on ultra-high settings and assassins creed 2 on highest settings without problems just make sure ur motherboard is compatible I had abunch of trouble with gettin mine to read it but it's worth it

  • @Mitsu3000gt515 ok ty very much :D

  • @NsMs96 yea i have gtx 460 and it works great.

  • dear sir , whats cpus role on game play ? i am using core2duo and ati 4850 512 , i tired same video card on other core i7 but same fps . we need cpu or gpu for gaming ??? plan for my new pc , core 2 duo and 5870 1gb card with 40 gb ssd and 1 tb hdd , please suggest me , core 2 duo + mb is so cheaper then core i 5 or core i7

  • @newkayson if there's any truth in passmark's benches, amd is the best bang for your buck. seriously, check it out. a better gpu would be a good idea. the 4850 is a beast but it's not good compared to some stuff that's out now (not all ex; ati's 5450 or nvidia's geforce 210 gt). the 5870 would be a wise choice, but the ssd isn't needed. it's faster but there is only so many times the memory can be written over. i wouldn't personally.

  • How can i over clock this processor and keep it at a safe temperature. im very new to this lol.

  • @ryanishereyay123

    buy a better cooler?

  • 940, 955, 965, and 970 are very much identical aside from their stock clocks. its better to choose the 955 and overclock it to 3.5ghz so it can perform with the same level as the 970 but when in it comes to extreme overclocking, the 970 is the best choice.

  • I heard the fan on this bad boy is really loud, can anyone confirm?

  • @SinnedWinds yeah it can get really loud if your case isnt cool. i have 4 fans on my case so i never hear it anymore.

  • Quick question, does the stock cooling fan come with thermal paste pre-applied?

  • your videos are very helpful

  • Im thinking of either getting this, 965, or 945. I play on 1440 x 900. 4gb ddr2, ATI 5770 1gb. I also need a new motherboard that supports the power. Any suggestions please?

  • @SirHubCAp Asrock K10N78M-PRO motherboard, also a gtx 460 768mb would be a nice upgrade even though since it only has 768mb it would limit you at higher res like 1080p but since you play at 1440x900 that shouldn't be a problem and you will get a lot more performance for just a lil more money.

  • please respond! , will you need to have water cooling to overclock this ??

  • This is a great video review! Helped me decide whether or not to buy a 955 BE, didn't regret it when I did and definately still don't now! Thanks PCWizKid.

  • weird i run left4dead@ 100-150 fps 1600x1200 with pentium dual core e6300 and radeon 4850 with aa x8 :) worse performance on other games though :P

  • i just installed this cpu it is showing as 803mhz why is this

  • how much would it cost for the PSU CPU and the motherboard?

  • By the way, the cooler in that video is $120 and the CPU with BE and stock heatsink and fan is $145. So, that fan is likely worth more than the chip, or about the exact same.

  • I am currently running this CPU and when running the Gothic IV demo on Max settings my temp gets up to 61C. 62C is max for the CPU, so I was looking to lower the temp. Using stock heatsink/fan with preapplied thermal paste. I think the problem is that the voltage is set to 1.4 when it should be 1.350, however, it only gives me the option to increase the voltage in my BIOS for the GA-MA790X-DS4 mobo. Any ideas?

  • Is the highest that the 955 can go 3.8mhz on air cooling?

  • i have that processor... and i say that is the best processor of the world. never give me problems and has always operated as quickly as possible. I do not think in exchange for a good few years.

  • just bought this cpu for £114 inc. shipping from ocuk

  • Is this a good cpu?

  • I have this processor - it's rather speedful

  • @TheOracle12 what power supply would I need, is a 350 W good?

  • @edwardwills yes 350w would be splendid now go suck on my cock u nerdy little fuck

  • @TheOracle12 gay

  • is the 'Arctic-cooling freezer 7 pro rev.2' a good cooler for this cpu?? i want to build a pc with this cpu but i wanted to make sure i am taking a good cooler... not a weak piece of sh*t :-) I'm just planning to overclock it a little bit... like from 3.2Ghz to 3.6 Ghz or 3.8Ghz... thanx in advance!

  • is the 'Arctic-cooling freezer 7 pro rev.2' a good cooler for this cpu?? i want to build a pc with this cpu but i wanted to make sure i am taking a good cooler... not a weak piece of sh*t :-)

  • should i get this 955 or the new x6 1055T???

  • Is it safe to follow your exact specs to overclock? Same processor.

  • Which one do you recommend?

    Core i5 760 or Phenom II X4 955?

    Gaming purposes.

    Thanks

  • I'm seriously thinking about getting this CPU but I'm not sure that it will work well with my graphic card. Someone at the store told me that my graphic card is not good enough to support this CPU and i wont be able to use the CPU to it's max. is this true?? my graphic card is an radeon hd 3800, its 512mb, the core runs at 680MHz, it has a bandwidth of 53GB/s and a texture/pixel fill rate of 10.7GB/s.

Plz respond to this as soon as possible, i really need some advice. Thanks!

  • By saying it can use ddr2 and ddr3, does that mean that I can put for instance 4GB DDR3 RAM in 1 slot, and 2GB DDR2 Ram in another slot? Would that work?

  • Hey, how far would i be able to overclock this with the stock cooler, i plan to replace it eventually, but just checking.

  • @gitaarspeel probably to about 3.4 to 3.5. maybe not even that.

  • I just got a Phenom II X4 955 BE, how do you suggest we apply Arctic Silver 5?

  • why is it so power hungry

  • The 955 is a solid chip, it's only $140 on newegg right now, way worth it.

  • if my computer supports phenom II can i put any phenom II processor into it?

  • did he said that this phenom can be used at am2 socket???

  • nice opening song :)

  • gonna get this awesome phenom

  • well I dont know what now to buy 955 or 965

  • @nikhack311296

id get the 955. The 965 is just an overclocked 955 so its not really worth buying. Its 3.4Ghz, as opposed to the 955's 3.2Ghz. Im getting the 955 for my new rig, cant wait :)

  • hey, what happen if iget more than 62°C now i have my 955@3.5 with the stock fan, and the max temp i is 60°C this is bad or irs ok.? thanksdude

  • @erickfer1888 if max = 60*c then its bad offcourse. Remove the stock cooler and buy a new one. :) stock cooler = sucks.

  • @erickfer1888

actually 60c max on load is good, especially for a stock cooler. If you're looking for an aftermarket cooler, I recommend the coolermaster hyper 212 plus. It's about $30 on newegg.

  • The 965 and the 955 are better at benchmarks than the Phenom X6! I'm not sure what to buy... I want to buy a better CPU than my Athlon II 620 before Christmas. I heard that AMD will bring out before October two new 6 Cores CPU! The Phenom II X6 1035T 2,6 GHz and the Phenom II X6 1045T 2,7 GHz! I'm between 3: Phenom 955, Phenom 965 and Phenom 1045T! What should I buy? I know much for computers but I'm confused now... Better gaming or faster applications?

  • i was thinking to buy this processor..is it good? worth buying?

  • @Pharmit24

Ya, it's $150 on newegg right now.

  • @amexnamedluis how bout the AMD phenom II x4 925 2.8GHz? is it good for fast computer? :D

  • It depends on the price, I'm seeing that chip for $150 right now on amazon and buy.com, so that isn't worth it.

  • @amexnamedluis LMAO! u care bout the price not the CPU? im asking whether is it good or not for the cpu not the price!

  • @amexnamedluis find me a intel x4 chip that you can overclock to 4ghz stable with low temps

  • @amexnamedluis find me a intel x4 chip that you can overclock to 4ghz stable with low temps

  • For OCing this chip to 3.8 GHz, will I need an aftermarket cooler?

    Or how about 3.6 GHz?

  • I got this Processor running at 3.8 ghz on stock cooler and it does not even go over 53 Celcius on a full payload. for $160 bucks? It's a no brainer, go with AMD because you actually get what you pay for, and you can ensure there is no wasted penny. intel makes really good processors, but they're so expensive it isn't even worth it. Even their older dual cores are still a rip off.

  • I'm just asking because I'm not sure, but is it possible to unlock on this cpu from x4 to x6 cores?

  • Is the AMD PHENOM X6 equals to intel i7?

  • @bvabhi noooo nooo I7 is a lot better but A LOT MORe EPENSIVE! Intels i7 extreme six core CPu 3.3Ghz cost $999 AMD Phenom IIX6 only costs $260 at 3.2 Ghz

  • @Nexumbiker110 The AMD 6 core CPUs are pretty shitty though. They can't even beat an i7 920 on alot if not most of the benchmarks.

  • @bvabhi Intels is based more on speed, AMD is more about performance, its hard for me to explain but Both companies are good but Amd is more affordable unless you can afford a high end computer which costs like 2000-3000 then then go for intel i7
