MTV actually used to play this cool song quite a bit back in late '89. Heard it recently a few times at work, so here I am! I never got tired of this song when it was out, even though MTV ran stuff into the ground. Penn's follow-up single, "This and That" is another one I've always liked. Haven't heard these since '89 or '90, and it's nice to hear them again.

What an evocative song of good memories... absolutely adore it and think of someone extremely special whenever I play it (which is often). To me the song and video are about the baggage that we bring into relationships from damaging life experiences or prior bad relationships. Both of these women in the video seem very unhappy despite the things that they have right in front of them (one of them has money, the other has a man).

He wrote intelligent, thought-provoking lyrics steeped in complex imagery, and surrounded them with music that was just as intelligent and complex as the lyrics he sang. He created a record that was filled with more of those type of songs. He had a major hit with this track, then seemed to fade into the ether. Music like this is missed.
