No, just in challenge mode (despite it sounds like D'arby is saying "Challenge Maude!"). If you get past a certain level, he starts showing he's impressed. There's a video where someone hit the highest level (God of JoJo) somewhere on this site where he comments about how the person has more power than the old man imagined.
