Guaranteed, no one under the age of like 16 is gonna know who any of those people are. Except MAYBE Ryu, since he's from Ninja Gaiden, and there have been a number of Ninja Gaiden games since the NES trilogy. I'm willing to bet that NONE of those people (under 16) know who Master Higgins is, unless they've seen an Adventure Island review before.

Pokemon even came a bit later in my country than everywhere else. The first series started sometime in year 2000... They've gone off the air I think around 7 years later. There are a few pokemon series still playing on foreign channels since now-a-days everyone has digital tv sets...

Also, my brother is only 4 years younger and he didn't know what a vinyl record was untill recently I found an old gramophone and some records -.-

Anyway, TMNT is a bit older than pokemon, pokemon came to my region in 1999 or 2000 if I remember correctly. I remember watching TMNT sooner than that :P
