  • Wow - how unbelievably ignorant. Don't think I need to say any more...

  • HA ha thats priceless thank you Patrick I had a great laugh. Hoteliers should listen to some of the truths... There are numerous technological solutions to resolve some of those issues and for most all you need is common sense. In the UK even 5 star hotels dont give wifi as part of the room rate so for those of you reading in the US things are a little different in Europe (sadly) yep we have little local cafe's offering free wifi yet our 5 star chain hotels cant even be bothered ...

  • @IoannisSPantelidis Yes totally ridiculous that a $600 a night hotel charges extra for web access!

  • Hotels: most important thing is to see what you offer through guest eyes - smallest things often make the most enormous difference. This video is about the needs of busy business customers - and should NOT be applied to - say - a holiday resort.

  • You sir are a delusional miserable ass. Go stay in someone else's hotel because if you come to mine you are getting the worst room at the highest rate. Guests like you are impossible to please and don't WANT to be accommodated; you'd rather just be the miserable asses that you are. Go work at a hotel as a front desk clerk BEFORE you start acting like a pompous ass and criticize everything.

  • P.S. - We're not out to make a guest's life miserable. Really. But for you, I doubt I'm the only one that would make an exception.

P.P.S. - The swiping of your credit card at checkin? Required of us by your credit card company. If somebody disputes a charge by claiming they never stayed at a hotel, the hotel has proof they were there. Happens more often than most realize (and would happen MORE often if we didn't take precautions), so hoteliers can't take you for your word.

  • OMFG... Just die. Die now. And if thats too much to ask, Don't EVER come to my hotel. We accomodate a majority of the things you're asking for, but good lord, man... The only thing worse than you, to a front desk clerk, is the guy that comes in at 4 in the morning, wanting to be able to only pay for one night, in order to check out the NEXT day, and only pay bottom dollar (i.e. less than half of what the normal rate is) because he isn't planning on using any of our amenities.

  • Try working in a hotel for a change, jackass.

  • Also, since I'm here, could you explain where on earth bananas cost nothing? We need to let Ethiopia know!

  • You're such an ignorant jackass. lol Have you even talked to anyone in the industry to find out WHY things are run the way they are, instead of assuming you don't need any human intervention to check-in/out? Or, why hotel rooms are set the way they are? You know, you're not the only one traveling. The majority of travelers aren't staying in hotels 60+ days a year. I'm sorry the world hasn't been personalized for you alone. ...fucking prick.

  • TM 201 ASSIGNMENT !!!! :D

  • *cries*

  • It seems that have comments for almost anything and everything out there. Goes to show that being a doctor doesn't necessarily make you smart considering all this was common sense and would have taken less time to think about it logically then make a whole video.

On a final note I must say I looked at your website and a couple of your other videos and can confidently say you are clearly suffering from delusions of grandeur. Stick to what you know best. Hospitality is clearly not one of them!!

  • I dont usually leave comments on youtube but I made it a point to make the effort to inform you how pathetic you are. None of your points are valid to improving customer service and you obviously havent taken the time to actually ask the staff the reasoning behind those procedures.

    1) You need to stay at nicer hotels. Those issues you had wouldnt even be a thought.

  • I hate it when I go to a hotel room knowing that most of the hotel is empty. And then the hotel has the nerve to put a few people getting a room right next to each other. It's a drag because I deserve my surroundings to be absolutely quiet.

  • For the most part you sound like a complete idiot. You clearly know nothing about how credit card companies operate. They demand that the card is swiped and pin numbers entered, otherwise you are fined. The card you gave could be anyone's card, not yours and hotels don't have authority to bill any card except for one single night if you don't show up. Many cards are prepaid with a fixed amount or have no money on them.

  • you have to swipe the card to make sure that its a match i work at a hotel.

  • This guy should either build his own hotel or stop staying in cheap hotels and pay more to stay in a 5* luxury hotel where all his business requirements are met. You pay peanuts you get monkeys bitch.. ; )

  • This guy should either build his own hotel or stop staying in cheap hotels and pay more to stay in a 5* luxury hotel where all his "business" requirements are met. You pay peanuts you get monkeys bitch.. ; )

  • i dont believe people like you should be allowed to stay in a hotel. you ungratefull ball of misary

  • If your room is prepaid and you are asked for your c/c info at check-in its to cover any extras that may be incured during your stay. its the hotels way of covering payment should you choose to do a runner in the morning. life is to short to complain about everything. you should try and be more appreciative for the life you live. there are many people less fortunate than you. try looking at that

  • big woop....... choose a better hotel

  • get over it!

  • Try to breathe.

  • If you have taken the time to book the room into a hotel, you've definitely taken the time to research the hotel you're staying at. Us hoteliers try to provide as much as we can to please every guest, and yet, it's still not enough. Some people want things free, and even when its free, you still complain about things. Providing the credit card again helps protect you, not us, so that it in actuality is you who is checking in with your credit card, let alone there are places that charge intern

  • I'm trying to get into travel and tourism as we speak. Just had interview for front desk at hotel yesterday. If I get it I will need to hear all the complaints I can so I know how to handle them.

  • I think you are asking for way too much. You can read all of this stuff prior to staying in any hotel. There are reviews all over the internet from travellers like yourself (e.g. tripadvisor) so you are able to get a fairly good idea of the property before you even arrive. I rarely have bad experiences in hotels because I know what to expect by researching the property in advance and I don't expect the world like you obviously do.

  • Take a valium please sir.

  • o my good, can i recommend you a book? Tom peter, actually any of them , please before putting this in internet, get some information....because man you make no sence

  • we need to swipe credit card for your protection. Do your research first prior to making reservation. If it doesn't meet your needs, stay at a different property. You're a travellers , you should know all these.

  • we cant expect things to be perfectly done.......different individuals have different needs......with all the respect, people working in the hospitality industry are also living under stress, frequent travellers should appreciate them more and should understand that everything is done for a specific purpose....the passport and the CC should be taken upon check In for security reasons....if anything happened they will be the 1st to be blamed....i guess this video is based on emotional judgment

  • Oh my goodness, is he really this clueless about life? Does he really want his passport number input as online data?

Talk about rant! He needs to plan better. Arriving five minutes before he needs to be on a conference call. SHEESH!

He even complains about the stuff *he* throws on the floor!

  • I came upon this video because I had just started working as a hotel guest service rep. I must say that this person might be asking for too much, but I wanted to thank the person who uploaded this video because this will help

My advice for all guests, please READ your registrations for any addt'l payments/fees before booking your stay. In addition, please don't take it out on the hotel rep. If you need something, take a deep breathe, make a list of what you need, then call the front desk.

  • You obviously have never worked on the other side of the hospitality industry. There are reasons for most of your complaints that are very simple and, believe it or not, necessary.

  • Youre a nightmare, You obviously thrive off being miserable, Id deliberately put someone like yourself in the worst available room.

  • Ha! Well I never complain about hotel rooms or service when I stay places. You clearly stay in hotels less than I do - I spend at least 60 nights in hotels a year + talk to large numbers of people who spend lot more time in them than me. Just pointing out how hotels can do better at almost zero cost. And some are. Take for example budget Hoxton hotel in London - free internet in rooms, free wireless internet in public areas, real milk in fridge for coffee, etc. Result: very high occupancy.

  • @pjvdixon

What kind of cheap-ass hotels were you staying in that DIDN'T have free internet or an iron in the room? Also, I agree with the few people that said you need to manage your time better. Five minutes before you're scheduled for a conference call? Lame. Lack of planning on your part does NOT constitute an emergency on mine. I'll do what I can, but if you lose out for being late because you didn't go to check in 5 minutes before your call, its your own damned fault.

  • I really like your videos, thanks!

  • You sound like a 5 year ol whinner. We expect perfection from enviornment while aech of us know how imperfect we are all. Sometimes compromise is also good. Anyway the same uneasiness you depict is also taking us forward

  • Gimme a fucking break!!! Americans are hard to satisfy. Arrogant assholes...

They're just too fucking spoilt. Rude bitches...

Burn in hell american hotel guests...

  • Thanks - sometimes I am a little slow with 11 million site visitors on my sites. You can contact me easily on the globalchange site.... click on banner on my main YouTube page.

  • This video is quite practical. Two weeks ago I had the most phenomenal room in Shanghai. (It was brand new. It looked as if I could have been the very first guest.) Too bad I couldn't drink the milk...

I sent you an invitation to a private online community a few weeks ago. It may have looked like spam. I can't send messages to your YouTube account, so let me know if you have time to take a look.
