@Super4188 You have to have some sail up, even during storms. You have to be moving forward to keep your aspect to the waves, unless you are hove to. Otherwise you'll be broadsided by waves and capsize. A boat that small probably could not sail on the poles.
@Super4188 Depending on whether you have a roller furling or a hanked on jib, you might only want a small amount of sail if the winds are high. It all depends on the situation. The main thing is that you need to keep the boat moving so that you can keep the bow into the waves.
Aron, we are so proud of you. You are one of our greatest heros and a big idol for everyone, especially young population. God bless you! A. from Budapest, Hungary
Iv been on a few cruises around the caribbean, everyone had their hand out for money. I know there's always a cheap way to do things but I wouldn't think of sailing around without a nice stash.plus he talks about getting a new boat.money from home?
I believe he was an Engineer back in his home country. So, I'm sure as a professional, sailing on a relatively low-cost boat such as Carina, he was able to save and spend frugally...
It is also possible his friends & parents are loaning him some money to get him home - It's pretty clear he isn't a rich kid on a yacht by any stretch of the imagination, so, I think chances are he's living on a terribly low budget, and just living as best he can.
Damn. After six months of coastal sailing alone aboard a 27 foot yacht, I wanted nothing more than to have my feet back on solid ground. I think I would die from the stress of being on a 19 for years.
I´m amazed it´s big enough to store his massive balls

I bet he has to ride the storms with sails down most of the time.

@tomperanteau Thanks for the info. Would he be using jib only as last resort?

the wind is free - a little boat is cheap. Work a year then sail and live off the land.
