The snare is a 6X12 Maple snare from Pearl. Coated Ambassador top, clear diplomat bottom.... Tuned quite tight. Thanks for checking it out, welchtim.

Funk Fest is at Don Q's Nov.13th. I confirmed with Don Caruth. I hope the band has it on their calendars. Do you have Don Q's scheduled for 11/13?

This is the first I've heard of this Welchtim. It's not on the website yet but that really doesn't mean anything... It's out a ways so I guess Don C. just hasn't mentioned it yet. I'll ask him about it. But as it stands, I guess i'll see you there.

I have a 6x12 DW I am going to start using again. Great for funk! I have a groove wedge attached for cross sticking (rim clicks).

Funny you should mention this, welchtim. I find that the smaller snare drums tend to suck projection wise when you play them side stick. They slap you upside the head when laying the back beat, though... So does the groove wedge help with this?
