  • well can I see it crashed?

  • ??? You can't even see it..... thumbs down

  • it was cool because i saw the plane actually crash

  • Took too long to show- not the actual crash, thanks.

  • sucked i couldn't see the plane

  • Looks like camera eror to me. The cameraman was like..."oh look its crashing. When it hits ill shake the camera for dramatic effect."

  • Praise God r/c modelers don't build real airliners! lol.

  • nose was up to high turning base to final...big no no with a heavy jet. notice once you get behind to far theres no getting it back...

  • strangest stall i have ever seen, it was like an epeleptic sesure

  • need an airspeed indicator???

  • stall

  • like a real plane with a high wing loading it cant handle slow speeds and tight turns at once.

  • was it by chance bill himple at the controls and also were was this shoot?

  • @Aircraftfreak155 yes it was and was at speed world

  • Seems to me like a few RC pilots don't understand aerodynamics when it comes to swept wings and or flutter.

  • Stall happen, there is another video of a RC D-10 with the same configure it also crash on final apporach to the runaway coming out of a turn.

  • Bummer...but the lack of airspeed in that turn was enough to spell the end for that nice plane..." Note to self "...Shallower turns and more airspeed... :( :(

  • Turbo Suck!

  • damn that fell straight down! too bad there wasnt an explosion =D, the thing that sucks was that was that that was a nice plane too.....i wouldnt have thought a plane could stall that easily....wasnt even that sharp of a turn

  • I saw the guy walking back with the wing intact. The wing broke away pretty clean with a few tears in places. But I never saw the fuselage come back. Maybe not as bad. It was pretty cool seeing that thing rip past us 10 feet off the ground.

  • Do you know how badly it was damaged?

It seems to me it crashed fairly flat on it's belly, though at a speedy descent.

  • The pods on the wings were dummy pods, The only turbine was in the tail.

Looks to me that the pilot brought his air speed to low and over she rolled.

To bad...That was a cool jet, You don't see to many commercial planes at shows. Hopefully we see it again.

  • Hey Bob How many turbines did that beast have? just one in the tail or all 3?

  • I just watched a video 2 days ago. Almost the exact same thing. Large scale DC-10 tip stalls.

Do a youtube search for "Giant RC DC-10 Turbine Powered Crashes Hard"

  • Bob

I think that jet used to belong to Bill Hempel. Was it him flying? I saw someone in a team futaba shirt that seemed to be holding a transmitter and looking disgusted for a brief second in the video. Would be strange to see a guy with that much experience make that mistake. Of course he could have sold it. Thanks for all your videos. I have enjoyed them all.

  • Low airspeed , drained too much energy on approach and stalled. Pilot error. Sorry that was beautiful plane.

  • bob, put rc in the title. Just makin sure you dont get haters;)

  • Tip stall or flame out on one engine

  • dang

  • :-(

  • Looks like pilot error to me. Tip stall on that last turn, either didn't have enough airspeed or took it a bit too tight. That was a pretty plane too...

  • @thewhiz jest got it to slow and tip stall

  • Bob Was it a dead stick or pilot error? Damn shame really

  • Where did you find the video?

    Man, that really hurts

  • ouch

  • Ohhh Noooo!!!!

  • Bam Damn
