Took all my copyrights! Put out covers on me! Why do you think they call it rhythm and blues!
  • this guy is not young enough to play frankie lymon. He'd have to kick his own balls to get notes that high

  • No Carlton isnt right for this role i think they picked the right guy

  • yeah col movie

  • Perfectly cast film. Larenz Tate is perfect as Frankie Lymon. Halle Berry is a perfect (and equisitely beautiful) Zola Taylor. Perfect casting. God Halle looks delicious.

  • @brnleague99 Yeah he would be except the real Frankie Lymon was only thirteen or fourteen at the time and Larenz Tate obviously is older.

  • GREAT MOVIE

I know which person is. Elivis Presley

  • @TheScoobie1313 huh at what part?

  • I think Larenz Tate did an awesome job in this family sure he didn't look like Frankie but he does move like him pretty good even with the head bobbing

  • @jrogers9ful1 yeah it really is how the stars get robbed and how the record labels sucks all the talent and leave them with nothing. And its happening now !!

  • doesn't sound like the original franky. Anybody knows if its him? there both good

  • what movie is that?

  • The actor playing Herman Santiago played in an episode of an old HBO series called lifestories families in crisis it was the eddie matos story and he recently was a character in the video game LA Noir

  • @martynainghis HEll YA DAmn YOu right

  • Omg....that is sooooo funny!!!! but ture.

  • @martynainghis quite possibly the best idea ever

  • @martynainghis that would have been dope

  • @martynainghis your only saying that cause carleton looks a little like LARENZ TATE, but neither carleton or larenz tate look like frankie lymon

  • @martynainghis, you mean Alfonso Ribiero should have played Frankie Lymon instead of Larenz Tate? I think Larenz did a good job.

  • @ViewerMovies3002 i agree

  • The guy playing this Herman Santiago kid @ 1:46 was also the little kid in Stargate.

  • @sexyfatbastid yea the latino kid who is singing at the back played the teenage outlaw Joey carza in Streets of Laredo - its the one where his mother was a whore - his sister was blind - and his brother was a retard who used to hang around with a goat

and yes he play that talaban kid in star gate1

  • the movie was a good movie.the cast were great in it.

  • Frankie Lymon Sings Like A Little Girl , But His Music Is Legend And Very Entertaining

  • I think they put Frankie's voice in there haha

  • Larenz Tate in this role.

  • great movie. shutup haters

  • @indeed1234 exactly i hate haters this is one of my fav movies and frankie lymon is one of my fav old time singers

  • *PEOPLE

  • Why are Pepole getting mad because Larenz tate is older than Frankie? there aren't alot of 13 year olds that are qualified for this character. I mean he has 4 sex scenes with 3 different women

  • This was an AWFUL movie..the guy playing Frankie was Horrible. This movie did NOTHING for frankies Memory NOTHING. garbarge.

  • @blkshepherd Larenz Tate is an awesome actor... Don't diss him just because you didn't like this movie and I love this movie even though it's not exactly the truth

  • In case no one's noticed, I'm playing Devil's Advocate. I don't think anyone's explicitly wrong (including turtlelvr45). I'm just saying if it was your $10mil to burn, you're probably going to get the best looking cast you can to maximize profit. Where I think this movie failed is skipping over 1956-1961. He goes from being a 13yr old boy courting an 18yr old Zola Taylor to being a fully-grown drug addict struggling with his career in about 45 seconds. That's bad storytelling there.

  • ahhh actual music

  • @Constellashun agreed! :D

  • tate is a much more handsome guy than Frankie Lymon...

  • gotta luv lil richard! he's a legend

  • MOVIE LEFT OUT ALOT OF THINGS...focused too much on the wives. deeply research on franks life and you'll see this movie is shit

  • @Caveman1006 I don't think the movie is shit, but I agree that it left out a lot of things. Since they have the same actor play Frankie at age 13 (the beginning) as when he's 25 (when he dies), you never realize that he matured physically and couldn't sing soprano anymore. He goes from shattering color barriers to being a belligerent junkie running from heroin dealers in 90 seconds... little explanation of what happened in those 6 years.

  • @Beaumagnus indeed

  • when he said"that's all bye bye" it sounded creepy as Hxll!!

  • that guy is waaaay too old to be frankie lmao

  • @turtlelvr45 True, but you gotta give them a pass on that. Zola Taylor (Halle Berry's character) first got intimate with Frankie, according to court testimony, when he was just 13 and she was 18. In most states, you could get child molestation charges for that. Anyway, Halle doesn't look 18 and I doubt you'd ever get Halle to kiss an actor that looks anything close to 13.

  • @turtlelvr45 OK, a pretty girl is NEVER going to get child molestation charges or statutory rape charges for having sex with someone less than 5 years her junior, but I hope you can understand the obstacle this presents for getting a guy that's sufficiently young enough to play a 13 year old Frankie... and then getting another one who looks close enough to him when he's 25 years old, the age when he dies.

  • @Beaumagnus whaaat??? i was just making a comment i didn't ask for all of this!!! lol :P ohh youtube...

  • @turtlelvr45 Get over it. Your criticism was unfair; there's no way they'd get an actor anywhere close to Frankie's true age.

  • @Beaumagnus seriously you need to chill out. it was just a comment it's not like you can do anything about it haha. you take things to seriously lol honestly, IDGAF about the actor so calm down. i just love the music, alright? :)

  • @turtlelvr45 No, YOU need to chill out. I didn't call you any names, I didn't make it personal. I just pointed out why your comment was IMPRACTICAL. You're the one acting like it's a personal attack; if you can say why I'm wrong, have at it! I disagreed with Caveman1006 and his response was congenial. People will disagree with your comments, most of the time they won't even be mature about it like I was and explain WHY. Try to handle criticism better in the future...

  • @Beaumagnus SMH

  • @Beaumagnus you know they could have did different actors for different periods in his life, right, anyway the movie should have considered that

  • @balotelli456 I definitely believed it should have been considered. What I'm saying is if you are the executive producer of a movie with a multi-million dollar budget, your goal is to have people see it so you can get back money on your investment, right? So it's fairly normal for movies like this to cast actors that are far more handsome than the people they are portraying. And like I was saying, no sane producer is going to have Halle Berry kiss a 13yr old kid, that's just creepy.

  • @Beaumagnus they obviously could have had a younger zola taylor, plus the part where they have the kiss is where they could have done the period for larenz tate as frankie older, anything. your making a big deal on this little adjustment, they could have done it without any problem, pretty much all biography movies have a stage where there younger and with younger actors

  • @balotelli456 A "younger" Zola Taylor? Women usually don't change much between 17 and 30 and she's in this range for all the flashbacks. You said it was a real fail to cast Tate as Frankie because Frankie looks more like Gary Coleman; and I agree. And now you're going against this thinking and suggesting hiring ANOTHER female (when you already have Halle) to play 18yr old Zola Taylor for their courtship?? As a purist, I agree with you but no sane producer would do that.

  • @balotelli456 All I'm saying is I think if you were put in charge when this movie was being shot and it was your butt on the line, you probably would have done the same things that were done here (hire Tate instead of Gary Coleman, use Halle Berry for as many scenes as possible, etc.) so try to cut 'em some slack. The only thing I would have changed was actually show Frankie through his teens... his voice changing, having sex with women twice his age, getting involved with drugs, etc.

  • @Beaumagnus thats obviously what im saying, with at the most two actors playing frankie lymon in periods of his life

  • @turtlelvr45 yeah, it was a real fail casting him as frankie lymon, gary coleman looks more like him

  • Comment removed

  • Who was singing "Oh wah" in the beginning? They sound good!

  • the movie was weak because it really didnt follow his life they didnt even change his voice as he got older

  • "baby. morris didn't even use no vaseline". iconic.

  • you can tell he's lip syncing because that voice doesnt match the actor's voice

  • @GAYDOLFSHITLER1969 Lool thats definitely true!!1

  • Now that i've found out that frankie was 13 when he started singing these songs, i can't look at this movie the same sounds and looks off, but its still a great movie :)

  • what the???.....what's going on with frankie's voice??

  • They got larenz Tate, because he's handsome, and looked nice with all 3 ladies lool!!

  • would sombody pleas explain the Vasilene bit that little richard said?

  • @MrBarribatts hes saying that morris fucked frankie over

  • @thethugangel63 ok now that make sense

  • yes little richard lol

  • vivica a. fox was my favorite character in this movie...love this movie

  • They should of got Gary Coleman to play the part of Frankie Lymon. Gary Coleman looks more like Frankie Lymon than Lorenz Tate.

  • @PinchMeImSleeping LMAOOOOOOOOOOO

  • There's no doubt that this film is historically innaccurate. Frankie Lymon probably could not have been any more than thirteen or fourteen when this song came out and yet Larenz Tate looks much older. Either that or the filmmakers want viewers to assume he was a big thirteen or fourteen year old.

  • look at Drake @ 7:54 lmao...

  • Frankie Lymon is a tragic example of how drugs can destroy your talent and more importantly your life. There are modern performers who are headed for an early grave just like he was but I will spare them further embarassment this time by not listing their names.

  • This ugly ass nigga pulled that fine ass woman, who sang in the Platters?! Look her up and you'll feel like I feel.

  • its weird frankie n michael have the same middle names

  • @24colorblind Based on what a lot of people have said, not everyone knows it's fiction. I agree on that it entertains, but it would be more worth watching if it told the truth about Frankie and his life.

  • This movie is such a joke! It's based on lies. It's sad that people don't want to realize what a deception this movie is.

  • @MsTruthFinder101 i thought everyone knew it was fiction? intertaining though.

  • @MsTruthFinder101

The Frankie Lymon movie isn't necesarily a lie, it's just not the whole truth. Yes, Frankie Lymon's personal life was a mess, and that was true about relationships with women as well. But the movie didn't really show the charisma that Frankie and the Teenagers had as performers. More importantly, at one point someone said that by 1961 he "hadn't recorded in years." Frankie continued to record--it's just that people weren't buying his records anymore.

  • @MsTruthFinder101 Really? So he wasn't on drugs? What parts weren't true, if you don't mind telling me?

  • @whayes8084 Frankie was on drugs, but this movie really exaggerates his drug abuse. It makes him look like a lunatic. First off, when Frankie & The Teenagers went to audition at Gee Records, they auditioned for George Goldner. The movie says that they auditioned for Morris Levy. When Frankie got married to his first wife Elizabeth, they had a child. The child unfortunately passed on, but this movie left that out completely...

  • @whayes8084 (Cont.) That scene where it shows Frankie throwing Elizabeth's dog out the window is a complete lie, she said in an interview that they left the dog in Virginia. It also leaves out the death of his mother, his reunion with The Teenagers in 1965. Frankie never married Zola Taylor. She used to say that he was her husband, but the whole thing was a publicity stunt to enhance their careers.

  • @whayes8084 (Cont.) At the end where they show Frankie going into Morris Levy's office and they have that conversation is also a lie. At the time Frankie died, his manager Sam Bray booked him in a recording session that was supposed to take place on Feb. 28. Meaning, Frankie didn't meet with Morris Levy to discuss anything due to the fact that his manager already booked him with Roulette Records, which is also owned by Morris. Morris didn't pay a dime for Frankie's funeral...

  • @whayes8084 It's funny how they put Little Richard in this movie as if he had anything important to point out, because the truth is that after Frankie's career went down, Little Richard was nowhere to be found. He never went to the funeral, much less did he appear in court to testify on anything. May I also add that shortly after this movie's theatrical release, Frankie's first wife Elizabeth filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros. for defamation of character.

  • @whayes8084 I forgot to mention that Morris Levy did not go to Frankie's funeral.

  • frankie forever

  • what country or not allowed to watch that video tell me please

  • where part 1 D:

  • What's the name of this movie?

  • Larenz Tate made Frankie Lymon seem attractive and he was uglyy!!

  • lil richard is a damn fool!

  • Franki lymon had a nice voice.

  • LOL at 4:54

  • Lip Singing Like A Bitch.......

  • what a ugly voice

  • yeah hes not lip syncing its obviously he is singing for reels im totaly cerial

  • Movie is 2 freakin funny

  • lil richard was too funny lol

  • Those of you who are taking this movie to be a TRUE biopic of Frankie Lymon must realize it is a Hollywood film and much of it is fictionalized. For instance,as far as I know there is no evidence that he messed around and married three women who ended up fighting over his estate and possessions after his death. The only true component of the movie was his abuse of drugs which put him in an early grave.

  • @xyPERSON actually it is true... there were 3 women actually fighting over his Estate.....MOst of it is real... But yea MOST OF IT IS True

  • @xyPERSON While this is definitely a dramatization... there indeed was several court cases involving the three women. Zola Taylor was one of those women, but she could never prove that she and Frankie were actually married

But you are correct in saying the movie is heavily fictionalized. For example, Frankie didn't die in a public restroom; he died in his grandmother's bathroom.

  • @RyanKBoman The reason it's dramatized so heavily is because it's from the point of view of the people who are testifying. I thought that part was obvious since you could hear them talking during the flashbacks... their telling it how they remember it. Since none of them were there when Frankie died they assumed that's what happened to him... I'm surprised that no one else got that

  • @TiaDalmasdaughter84 I think in the case of these "biopics", they are all heavily fictionalized. That's one of the reasons there hasn't been a Sam Cooke movie yet, because the people in control of his estate don't trust Hollywood to tell the real story.

  • @TiaDalmasdaughter84 no i did from the jump he got signed to Big Apple Records before his death. They should have added that.

  • so frankie was not ment to be the lead singer

  • Lol, Little Richard must be a riot at parties :D

  • Littl Richard the Architecte of Rock and Roll !!!

  • man i love lil richard

  • @ 2:50 the man who played frankie did not match the voice that he had

  • wow this was a great movie for those that says tate did a bad job playing franki needs to killed them selves he did a good job

  • he looks so gay when he says "Thats all, Bye-Bye!" LOL

  • he was really 15 at the time why did they have a grown man play the part the lip singing is horrible because it sounds like a man with a kids voice

  • Sgt Espera from Generation Kill!!!!!

  • is that a true story?

  • yea he really did dance with a white girl on tv and the

  • Larenze Tate played that part - big time!!

  • iLIVE for Little Richard!!

    "Stole My WOOOOO!!"

  • @alcoholharmony LOL. "Stole my wop-bop-a-loo-bop-a-lop-bam-boom!"

  • "Well um, you just hang here, and experience some of my street shit."

  • this is a gud movie but sad as hell

  • I was there during the filming of this part. They built a courtroom set (minus the wall near Richards chair) that way the steadycam cameraman could go from filming Richard to walking right through the theatre to shoot the already in progress live performance with camera rolling non stop.No special effects needed.Theatre is one of those classic ones in downtown LA.

  • why was he touching white females? WTF

  • @simpsda bcuz white women love black dick just ask my ex

  • @JUSTME543212345 ?? i think the black in you is confused on what i wrote.

  • @simpsda

I don't think anyone wants your ignorance here, kid.

  • he got his ass slapped

  • that's will smith's dad!!! fucking deadbeat trucker!!

  • Larenz Tate was too old to be playing Frankie.

  • @SureFireThang He would have made a great older Frankie. But you are right in the begining their should have been an real kid playing Frankie. This movie needs a complete DO OVER! If this is supposed to be the story of Frankie Lymon why does it start in a prison? Frankie was not born in prison.

  • @datchick360, because gay truely means happy.

  • black people has been rocking from the beginning. leave to white people to try and take it away. too bad they failed.

  • White people invent music - blacks just build on it. That is why you don't see anything but conga drums coming out of Africa. They need a white-built platform to build off of.

  • @kmg4 lmao... that sounds whack! how can white people invent music when y'all have no rhythm? who invented rock n roll? black people! who invented jazz? black people! who invented rnb? black people! who invented hip hop? black people! now, who invented square dancing? crackers! who invented river dancing? crackers! who invented all of the other whack country music? crackers! you see a pattern there, son?

  • @ABPSN21 stop with your racist bullshit,i dont know if ur white or black,it doesnt matter, your a racist piece of shit.

  • @kmg4 You need to go back to school. Your ignorance overshadows common knowledge on the subject. Lmao!

  • @sonicscreamingblue Actually, my education is much better than yours, since I did not have affirmative action. You only got by through AA.

What I said is true, and the truth hurts.

  • @kmg4 You're nothing but a racist troll. You tell on yourself so well...But what makes you assume I'm AA? Because I don't agree with your hate filled, ignorant, back woods rhetoric? Maybye I just paid attention in history / music class? If you're trying to get a "rise" out of me, you fail terribly. Don't bother responding, any future comments will be ignored. I have never met you, but I know for a fact I'm better. This attempt at an argument is beneath me. lol.Have a good evening sweetheart :)

  • @kmg4 *better than you......that's what I meant to say. Ok buddy go back to your racist trolling :)

  • OMG LITTLE RICHARD HELL YA GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY LMAO

  • Every Woman Said'' Elizabeth Waters Or Lymon: I'm Mrs. Frankie Lymon, Zola: I'm Mrs. frankie Lymon Emira Eagle: No I'm Marrayed To Frankie Lymon

  • 1956, Frankie was 14 and Zola was 18 or 19, wow

  • Vivica's look @ 4:59 was PRICELESS!!

  • Larenz was 25 and he was playing as a 13 yr old kid which was was very silly looking. Reminds me of the real Frankie on Hollywood a go go. A new movie needs to be made and an actual kid play little Frankie. There are ways to act around the sex. Just have Frankie go n2 a room w/ a woman and close the door. I believe people will know without them acting it out

  • wasn't lymon about 12 whenn they wrote that song? that guy looks in his 20's

  • I LOVE LARENZ TATE!!!!! ABD HE PLAYED THIS PART PHENOMALLY!!!!!!

  • miss ross hit trigged this lawsuit.

  • KEVIN HART! lolz

  • Nothing against Larenz, but it's weird taking his role as a high-pitched singer seriously. The dubbed audition doesn't look right.
