Anita was quite a broad. No question about that. I'm not sure that she was the "evil incarnate" and all that. She lived her life. She did what she did. When you get older you look back and think, "I could have walked in that door but I didn't. I walked in that door." I might have done this but I didn't. I did that." To alot of people it is very exciting and mysterious and glamorous and shit but to someone like Anita she was young then and now she's old and that's it. Nothing more. Believe me.
What movie (or TV show?) is she in in the scenes after the scenes right after the scenes from Performance? Where she's wearing a Indian-type outfit? Thanks
@TheNaturalust No offense, but she started out with Brian Jones, then had kids with Keith, then seduced Mick while with Richards, briefly breaking up the Stones. Also, she was sleeping with young gardner & they were playing Russin Roulette and he blew his brains out! She practiced Black Magic (& it seems to work). Yes, she is beautiful on the outside.
@jarileigh ...and the problem with those things is? Drugs will create a desparate personality out of a kitten but Anita finally pulled through all of that, probably with a few regrets. She is a hugely intelligent, powerful manipulative and strangely attractive woman who was not afraid to play ball with the men. I respect her for nothing other than she's kept her mouth shut about Mick, Keith, Magic et al.. Possible the Gossip Rag boys have had a heavy hand in your not so flattering assesment.
@TheNaturalust Her son died in his bed at 10 weeks old with no explanation. Considering the amount of drugs she consumed ( Mick said in a 1985 interview she "almost killed me" partying) and that the main drug was heroin, it's a very suspicious death, which easily could have occurred due to the baby being in withdrawals, babies can dehydrate & die from dehydration very quickly & easily with no outstanding symptoms except the diarrhea, etc that caused the dehydration, & be ruled accidental!
@jarileigh yes that is a terrible tragedy but we can guess about it forever, the cops did an investigation, she was cleared of killing the poor kid. When addicted she was the antichrist herself but all people can change and Anita has survived, no longer takes heroin and I respect the influence she had on me, you, the Stones and most people she was around. Obviously a junkie is not the best mother for a 10 week old infant. That part is too sad for words. No sense reliving it all though. peace.
@TheNaturalust How can you say there is no problem with a 17 yr old kid she was having a affair with (while Keith was recording in Paris) shoots himself in the head in her bed, she is ARRESTED with her young son in the house. She gets off in 1980 among rumours they were playing Russian Roulette, definitely sleeping with a minor. In all probability her drug addiction killed her 10 week old child! However, I totally agree with your assessment of her personality, it's her actions that disturb me!
@TheNaturalust Ask PinkGoddess if anyone affected my opinion, LOL! I have been reading about Anita, I find her fascinating & complicated and I wish I had more info on her! I'm saying she's very beautiful on the outside, but it doesn't neccessarily mean that she was a beautiful person on the inside, her actions make me think she wasn't a very good person, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, which hopefully they form on their own, HAHA! Peace!
@jarileigh I agree with you. There's no doubt she was beautiful (right now she looks awful), but a girl who had a relationship with Brian Jones, then left him for his bandmate Keith and so called a fling with Mick (at the same time she was with Keith) is a B.itch.. That's what I think. I don't like her and I don't like it when she is called the ''sixth stone''. It's an stupid thing to me o.O
@Ross98100 To be fair, Brian was a very abusive and volatile character and even though this was initially what made them a perfect pair, Anita was a stronger character and knew she had to end it in order to save herself. She's called the sixth stone because she had a large hand in influencing the style and image of Brian and Keith, particularly in making them seem darker and harder edge than the Beatles. Keith admitted in his bio that he was pretty naive before meeting Anita.
@xXPinkGoddessXx She was seeing Keith at the same time she was with Brian, there's books that claim one of the reasons why he hit her (maybe in their last days together) was that she was seeing his bandmate. Brian was abusive but she provoked him to be like that to her with her actions. Even she propositioned John Phillips of the Mamas and Papas (that's in a book) . It's good to be fair but let's face it, we can't say Brian was a good person with her but she betrayed him.
@daniel213141 No, men shouldn't hit women, it's true...
But Anita WASN'T a Saint!! I'm not saying that Brian was, but people can't see just him as the evil one of the story. And then Anita often is portrayed like a helpless damsel in danger and not like the manipulative bit.ch she was. Is really unfair to say Brian was the bad one in that relationship, Anita did hit him too, one time with a phone receiver!
No excuses to hit a woman, ok, but she was a BAAAD and provocative girl!
@Ross98100 I really hate the "blame the victim" syndrome, and it is rampant across the country. Yes, she was a s**t, and that isn't the worst of her actions. She probably provoked him in more ways than one, but in the end you are just making excuses for something that is fundamentally wrong. If your daughter got raped, would you say that "he raped her, but she provoked him to be like that to her with her actions" because she kissed him, was wearing something sexy, or pissed him off?
@jarileigh I'm NOT making excuses! I'm just being fair! Don't get angry but you should read good books about Brian, she wasn't a victim at all. Brian was very insecure and because of that he could be jealous and abusive, when I said she provoked him with her actions I didn't mean wearing something sexy, kissing him or things like that, I meant that she hit him too. Again I'm not justifying him, but why to see just him as the monster and then Anita is an angel? I just don't get it.
@Ross98100 I didn't call her the sixth stone, to be clear. I personally think she was EXTREMELY promiscious, she claims Brian hit her in Morocco & Keith said "you don't deserve to be treated like this!" and took her away from him, & their affair started. She says she didn't sleep with Mick before the filming of "Performance", Keith says she did. In '79 a 17 yr old gardener shot himself w/Keith's gun in her bed at their Estate in New York.
I don't know anything about her as a person, and so I have no opinion on that. But I think it is safe to say that she was very, very sexy and pretty.
