this song is so intriguing, i had to figure out the chords. couldn't find any tabs on the internet.

verse: F# (she changes inversions of the chord and sometimes changes to D#min7 but its hard to tell when)

pre-ch: A# - D#min - A#7

chorus: Dmaj7 - Fmaj7 - Amin(add9) - D#min(b6) - D#sus2

instrumental bit: F#min(major 6) (flute violin doing runs through the scale)

i think this is correct or very close. hope somebody else enjoys learning this song as much as i did.

as much as i love strange mercy, this live band and this style of music is SO much better suited to annie's talents. she seems to have really wanted to get away from being seen as a jazz or soft pop musician. instead going for an indie/experimental rock sound and image. that decision has probably introduced her to a wider audience, which is great.

but musically, i'd rather see this band playing 'the bed' than her new group doing 'year of the tiger' any day.

haha i forgot i was viewing this because i went to go clean for a bit and thought it was the album version. i was thinking "i'm pretty sure there wasn't an applause after the song." that's how perfect st vincent is.

It's a breath of fresh air to hear somebody who can actually perform live. I just saw this on tv, and I had to check it out again because I came in on the end of their performance of Marrow...she's a wonderful artist.
