Seeing as how smaller motor skylines get tuned to 1000+hp and are all over youtube I think people need to realize that Stock the Corvette can win. Modified? Well that depends on who is adding what to which car. Money=speed. Any Z car can beat any other car modded right and Vise versa. Z06 would beat this Z. Up the boost and get bigger turbos and the z would beat it. The cycle will continue. And these are street cars so its not like they are ever going to attempt 1500+hp or anything crazy
The TT Turbo Z winning makes sense, but once you starting putting bolt-ons and tuning that LS motor it's game over. Two different animals, but both great cars when you mod them.

@Nosnibor Please! A C6 will destroy your G37 all day without any problems. Tell this story to someone that actually doesn't know anything about cars. The slowest C6 is the 05 4L65-E auto and beats the G37 all day. All 06+ have 6 speed manuals and automatics(6L80), 400 hp(430-436 08+).

@Nosnibor That Hennessey Jeep has twin turbos. The ZO6 has tires. All of the new manual C6s have launch control so launching is much easier. Many 2010 ZR1s are hitting 10s like nothing on stock tires. I havn't seen new ZO6 times yet, but I am sure more people are running consistent mid 11s than before.

@1995camry lol like the guy stated before, for all we know the Z could be making 800hp... and its an LS2 corvette. The 350z does not weigh the same and with the TT set up it prob gained 65-100lbs depending on the all the hardware plus the kit on it and wheels. A 350z making 400-450 will more than likely lose to an LS3 due to torque and weight alone. Anything higher is more obvious.

I would like to see this race again against a 2008+ LS3 C6. I agree it is not surprising either. Only a TT 350Z making anwhere near 700-800 hp will have a fully built engine and running race gas.

Slyonethegreat, your vette had to be an older model. If you raced the same year model stock, in every year. The vette would demolish the Z. I've seen stock v8 powered Mustangs and Camaros competion with this car with out mods. I've owned a stock 1990 300 ZX turbo back in the day. And my cousin stock Mustang 5.0 used to smoke it everytime.

it depends on the year and the model. 350Z base model weighs 3188lb, so that's about the same as corvette. but the convertible automatic weighs up to 3600lb.

TT or not? you can't generalize a modified car like that. 350Z TT can range from 400~800+HP depending on the settup and supporting mods. I'm not sure how much this one is making. but stock C6 makes 400hp and weighs about the same as 350Z. so it's not surprising a TT 350Z can beat a stock C6.

Corvette has the bigger engine, so no matter what mods you put on the 350z, putting the same ones on the corvette will make it faster, not to mention the bigger block can handle more pressure, so you can have more boost from the twins.

Go find yourself a dyno chart from just about any 350 there is and you'll find that they lose right at 17% through the drivetrain. SO, at 425 crank hp with 17% loss you get 352.75 hp at the wheels. Sorry my numbers were a little off.. I'm such a liar saying 360 rwhp when it's almost a whole 8 hp short of that... So at the said 430 hp that ends up at roughly 357 rwhp. Boy i bet that 3 hp isn't gonna cost the Z the win. Those are just the facts man. I did the research with mine before i boosted it
Understand that 360 rwhp is right at 425 at the crank. So our numbers are the same in the end. A bolt on Z should have at least 400 bhp if not 425. Doesn't matter if it's a supercharger or a turbo, just about any bolt on after it's tuned should put you right at 425 and up from there when you start puttin more boost to it. That's also on factory exhaust system and the intake that comes with the bolt on kit so really absolutely no mods past the bolt on's.

I can tell you very much so first hand that a 350Z with 425 crank hp will beat a C6. I have a procharger on mine at 7lbs and about 360rwhp. With twins there's no reason he won't have 360+rwhp at pretty low boost (6lbs) and over a real good rpm range (should spool under 3K). Those numbers mean he's got the win, just like you see here... Not sayin you're wrong, but what you see above is what should happen givin both cars as they say they are

@1995camry lol like the guy stated before, for all we know the Z could be making 800hp... and its an LS2 corvette. The 350z does not weigh the same and with the TT set up it prob gained 65-100lbs depending on the all the hardware plus the kit on it and wheels. A 350z making 400-450 will more than likely lose to an LS3 due to torque and weight alone. Anything higher is more obvious.

I would like to see this race again against a 2008+ LS3 C6. I agree it is not surprising either. Only a TT 350Z making anwhere near 700-800 hp will have a fully built engine and running race gas.

Slyonethegreat, your vette had to be an older model. If you raced the same year model stock, in every year. The vette would demolish the Z. I've seen stock v8 powered Mustangs and Camaros competion with this car with out mods. I've owned a stock 1990 300 ZX turbo back in the day. And my cousin stock Mustang 5.0 used to smoke it everytime.

TT or not? you can't generalize a modified car like that. 350Z TT can range from 400~800+HP depending on the settup and supporting mods. I'm not sure how much this one is making. but stock C6 makes 400hp and weighs about the same as 350Z. so it's not surprising a TT 350Z can beat a stock C6.

Corvette has the bigger engine, so no matter what mods you put on the 350z, putting the same ones on the corvette will make it faster, not to mention the bigger block can handle more pressure, so you can have more boost from the twins.

Go find yourself a dyno chart from just about any 350 there is and you'll find that they lose right at 17% through the drivetrain. SO, at 425 crank hp with 17% loss you get 352.75 hp at the wheels. Sorry my numbers were a little off.. I'm such a liar saying 360 rwhp when it's almost a whole 8 hp short of that... So at the said 430 hp that ends up at roughly 357 rwhp. Boy i bet that 3 hp isn't gonna cost the Z the win. Those are just the facts man. I did the research with mine before i boosted it

Understand that 360 rwhp is right at 425 at the crank. So our numbers are the same in the end. A bolt on Z should have at least 400 bhp if not 425. Doesn't matter if it's a supercharger or a turbo, just about any bolt on after it's tuned should put you right at 425 and up from there when you start puttin more boost to it. That's also on factory exhaust system and the intake that comes with the bolt on kit so really absolutely no mods past the bolt on's.

I can tell you very much so first hand that a 350Z with 425 crank hp will beat a C6. I have a procharger on mine at 7lbs and about 360rwhp. With twins there's no reason he won't have 360+rwhp at pretty low boost (6lbs) and over a real good rpm range (should spool under 3K). Those numbers mean he's got the win, just like you see here... Not sayin you're wrong, but what you see above is what should happen givin both cars as they say they are
